After they asked me a few questions they happened to have an opening an hour later so I swiped that one up and came back after a bit. I was randomly assigned a hairstylist, Minnie, and it was like the stars in the universe aligned because we clicked right away. She asked me all about my hair and what I was looking for. I'm a wing it type of person but I did have some things in mind. I ended up getting a trim with some wisby longish bangs and she was able to keep my length which was awesome. At the end she mentioned the different products she used in my hair and sent me home with a "care card" with recommendations on when to return and who else to see if she wasn't in. They have a lot of precautions put into place including taking temperatures when you enter. Additionally everyone in the salon wore their masks correctly which is not something that occurs in many places. He gave me an American Balayage, which is like an ombré on steroids, in March at his precious salon location in Clintonville. The color grew out so beautifully and naturally that I didn't get my hair re-colored until December 1. And I only got two haircuts in those nine months because the haircut, too, grew out so nicely. I'm a graduate student, and Darren is always mindful of my budget. But because his haircuts last so darn long, I can afford to get fancier color. Also, I thought Darren was exaggerating when he said that a Brazilian Blowout would change my life. I have really frizzy hair, so a promise of "no frizz, and you'll roll out of bed every morning looking like you walked out of a salon" sounded impossible. But omg, it has seriously improved my life. No frizz, not even after CrossFit workouts in the summer humidity. I roll out of bed looking like I just had my hair done, and I have no split ends. It's ah-maze-ing. She was easy to talk to, listened to what I wanted, and gave good advice and direction when I was tempted to do something I wasn't planning on doing. I knew exactly what I wanted, as I was looking to get the same cut I did last summer. Your basic long bob, about collar bone length.
