When I walked in I was super surprised to be greeted by a virtual assistant through a monitor. It was something straight out of the Jetsons. After they asked me a few questions they happened to have an opening an hour later so I swiped that one up and came back after a bit. I was randomly assigned a hairstylist, Minnie, and it was like the stars in the universe aligned because we clicked right away. She asked me all about my hair and what I was looking for. I'm a wing it type of person but I did have some things in mind. I ended up getting a trim with some wisby longish bangs and she was able to keep my length which was awesome. At the end she mentioned the different products she used in my hair and sent me home with a "care card" with recommendations on when to return and who else to see if she wasn't in. They have a lot of precautions put into place including taking temperatures when you enter. Additionally everyone in the salon wore their masks correctly which is not something that occurs in many places. As a result, I've had appointments with many of the women here and they all have done a fantastic job. The usual visit goes: I do a terrible job explaining what I want exactly (usually accompanied by a picture or two), they somehow decipher it and make their own suggestions, and I walk out loving my new color (and cut but I usually just trim a couple inches so nothing special there). Everyone's super nice and they're good at reading whether or not I want to chat or just have an hour or two of relative silence/escape from my hectic life. They also always suggest cheaper ways of doing what I want and I'm grateful for that (and it always looks amazing). They also always take into account my infrequency of visits and suggest things that will take less upkeep which is also appreciated. Picture is just the most recent haircut and color; sorry it's just half my hair but it might give you an idea! The only problem is that parking is a nightmare in the area. There are usually some free meters in the area (try a street down from the salon, next to the UDF) but if you're getting something that might take more than two hours, those two hour meters aren't super helpful.

I paid 57 bucks plus tip for this "cut." Once the next appointment showed up, mine was put on fast forward and I was shooed out the door - but not before trying to sell me a bunch of stuff. My hair cut had more lines than a movie script. Also, there was no fade. Just short hair. The hair wash was very nice. When I went back so that they could "fix" the previous attempt, I wasn't charged - though I kinda felt like they shoulda paid me! I'd go there again if you drove and paid for the first cut, and the following "fix it" cuts.

After learning I would be traveling to Vegas soon, she said I should wait on coloring it so it wouldn't fade in the sun. She gave me so much layering and body, while lightening the weight. My hair is so much easier to manage now and looks 100 times better. That person changed her mind, I was told to wait because some texts about availability went out, but that was a "lie", too. This situation is unacceptable and unprofessional! I had to drive twice from Westerville about 45 minutes each way for an appointment that was cancelled or never scheduled! This is unbelievable! I couldn't make this up...later, they had the audacity to text about my next appointment. I don't support unprofessional businesses that I cannot rely on. I just happened to be scrolling through my Yelp app looking for salons nearby and Penzone jumped out at me because this location has been there forever. She was easy to talk to, listened to what I wanted, and gave good advice and direction when I was tempted to do something I wasn't planning on doing. I knew exactly what I wanted, as I was looking to get the same cut I did last summer. Your basic long bob, about collar bone length. We did the washing and cutting and drying and cutting again and I was out of there in about an hour and a half.
