This Service is THE BOMB! They ONLY pick up Take Out orders from any local restaurant (you pay,…read moreeither via their website or with the restaurant directly). Here is the VERY best part . . . it is ONLY $5! Yup. I called ALL 7 of the taxi's in Wallingford to pick up, only one could take my visa and they wanted $30 buck! Wow!! SO here I am, in Tennessee, still in my pajamas, it's 2pm & I wanted to send a Mother's Day Meal to my MOST favorite person (also my cousin) in the entire world, who is at Gaylord Hospital in w/ her son (patient). I made arrangements for pick-up at Popeyes (my next stellar review will be of Da'rell/Popeyes in Wallingford), Jessica called me back 'Toot-sweet'. She was extremely quick, efficient & friendly... and also was willing to do a few extra things like print out a card too! What a Darlin' ! USE these guys...what a clever idea! I only wished we had ONE restaurant where I live ('cause you know we don't) and then I'd be missing this fantastic service.

At their website they say that they will deliver from any of our favorite restaurants. "The best part of our delivery service is that you are not restricted to only a handful of restaurants to order from, you can choose the restaurant of your choice and get the order of your choice. There is no restriction on quantity or amount of order either, so your order can range from $5.00 to $1,000. As long as the restaurant and the destination are within Wallingford, it is in our reach." this is a lie they only have certain places that you can get food from tried to order food from Knuckleheads and they would pick it up bc it wasn't one of the places listed...no where did it say that I had to pick one of the restaurants from their list. I'm giving them 2 stars only bc they have and awesome concept, but are restricted to a handful of places that you can get a delivery from.

Silver spoon delivery is the king/queen of delivery. They service a lot of different areas. I've used them when living in an apartment in Hamden as well as a suburb in North Haven (limited delivery options in the burbs). All the good restaurants that don't normally deliver will deliver through this service. Depending on where you live the minimum order amount for delivery varies,(usually around $20 minimum). In Hamden/North Haven/Cheshire some of the options include Ixtapa(Mexican), Bangkok Boulevard(Thai), Playwright(Pub), Everyday Gourmet(Italian) so many more but those are some of my favs. They also offer fast food options like Moes. Their hours are 10am-10pm everyday for their service, but things vary with individual restaurants. Never used it, but they also offer a convenience store that delivers and a liquor store. You create an account online and You can order through the website and even pick whether you want it right away or for a specific time. The rewards program is a sweet bonus. The delivery drivers are always nice and they come when they say they will. Highly recommend the service... Especially for those lazy days.

Ordering by phone was a waste of time since they didn't have drivers available in a location in Fairfield, the busiest town. Pathetic!

Just in time for your home delivery needs come the good folks at the Hartbeat Kitchen. On a weekly…read morebasis they will deliver fresh and fully prepped meals right to your doorstep in the metropolitan Hartford area and the city of New Haven. Check their website to see if your town makes the cut. Orders must be submitted by Saturday night to receive Monday delivery. These are healthy low-calorie and low carb meals. We ordered four entrees, and nothing exceeded 425 calories. In fact, two were in the 300's and one was below 300. Combine the convenience factor, the variety of options, the reasonable cost, and the health factor, you get a lot of pretty good reasons to order some meals from Hartbeat. So how does it work? Well their menu changes weekly, but entrees run $10 or $12 and these are some typical choices: Chicken Tenders, Cauliflower Mash, Braised Spinach Chicken, Bacon, Sweet Potato Hash Deconstructed Fish Tacos Pesto Chicken Pasta Pesto Shrimp Paleo Shepherd's Pie Shrimp and Broccoli Simple Salmon Simple Steak Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon Turkey Burger and Sweet Potato Wedges over Greens They also sell "components" for $3-$5 you can either add to a meal or use as a base for a meal you prepare - think side orders of Garlic Green Beans, Herbed Chicken Breast, Roasted Broccoli, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Salmon, and Smashed Potatoes. This week I saw a soup on the menu (Red Curry Glass Noodle Soup) for $6 that must be a new addition because I didn't see it last week. For our inaugural order, we selected four entrees - Chicken Tenders with Cauliflower Mash & Braised Spinach, a Chicken, Bacon and Sweet Potato Hash, Deconstructed Fish Tacos, and Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon. I had the tacos and the salmon, and I thought they were excellent. I was a little skeptical about reheating fish in the microwave, but the instructions were spot on (I went on the low side of the time range) and they came out great. The sides and sauces were all very good too. My entrees came with a variety of string beans, riced cauliflower, black beans, and cole slaw. The sweet chili glaze for the salmon fillet was outstanding! You'll have to buy a nice insulated red bag for $10 with your first order. It comes with 2 freezer packs and will become your delivery point for future orders. Well done Hartbeat !! Welcome to our rotation.

Hartbeat Kitchen is an absolute life/marriage saver for working individuals, couples, and…read morefamilies--particularly those that have weird dietary needs. Owner Nancy Boone's food ranges from gluten-free to dairy-free to fully paleo, and each week the menu rotates enough to both access your favorites and keep things interesting. She sources from local farmers, so if you're in CT she provides a much more sustainable service than out-of-state food meal delivery services. Nancy continuously collects feedback about the meals and you can actually see the meals change slightly in response to that feedback--it's always getting a little better! Nancy designed the service to help working families--twice now I haven't gotten my order in on time, and she's accommodated me to the best of her ability so that I could still get a delivery. While I DON'T recommend forgetting to place your order on time (that makes her life a little harder), I've been so appreciative of her flexibility during these crazy and stressful times.

"There was a girl in Portland Before the winter chill…read moreWe used to go a-courtin' Along October hill" (Johnny Cash) We stopped in a few days ago and were very impressed by October Kitchen's variety, price, value, service, and most importantly, the quality of their foods, When you walk in you'll see a big menu board with today's listings, a freezer case and a refrigerated case loaded up with the foods. This made it pretty easy for us to review the menu and zero in on what we wanted, which was four items. Our server Anca was very pleasant and professional, and enhanced our entire consumer experience. We went with a small container of freshly made egg salad, a small container of grilled shrimp ($5), Meatballs with rice and vegetables ($13), and a frozen eggplant lasagna ($9). The egg salad was very good. Just egg and Light Hellman's Mayo and nothing else. It was a pretty much perfect batch, and a good convenient value at $5. The shelled "tail-on" grilled shrimp were five large nicely seasoned pieces that were delicious. We split the Asian Meatballs dish for dinner tonight. It was a big 19-ounce container with three Asian meatballs, rice, broccoli florets, and julienned carrots, squash, zucchini and scallions. A half portion was plentiful, the meatballs were excellent, and the sweet chili sauce added a zippy finishing touch. If the eggplant lasagna is half as good as the meatball dish, I'd be very happy. Some of the other intriguing listings we saw on their menu were Balsamic Shredded Beef, Turkey Cutlets with Fontina, Garlic Parmesan Flounder, Spanish Rice with Chicken & Shrimp, soups, salads, and desserts. Definitely worth your while to stop in and check out their grab and go goods.

This is such a great option to have in the freezer, when I know I won't be able to cook I can drop one of these flash frozen meals into the fridge the night before and the next day I can have it ready in minutes. My father in law is a rather picky eater, but he absolutely loves the meatloaf, pot roast and macaroni and cheese. I love that there's no commitment to a minimum number of meals, we can buy what we need, when we need it! Their prices are reasonable and the portions are perfect. We pick up our orders, but they do deliver and that charge is very reasonable. A great service we will definitely continue to use!

So much meat and it's good corned beef too! The sandwich was toasted, unlike NYC location and also $10 cheaper. Worth it. Chocolate bomb was meh. If you're searching for that authentic, old-school Jewish deli experience without trekking into…read moreNYC, Katz's Deli Restaurant in Woodbridge is a masterclass in tradition. Here is why this spot remains a cornerstone of the Connecticut food scene. The Star of the Show: The "Elaine" Cut The absolute centerpiece of the menu is the Elaine cut of corned beef. For those who find standard deli meats a bit too lean or dry, the Elaine cut is a revelation. It is: * Perfectly Marbled: Expertly trimmed to retain just enough fat to keep the meat incredibly moist. * Melt-in-Your-Mouth: Steamed to a point where it practically falls apart under your fork. * Generously Portioned: They don't skimp; the sandwich arrives piled high, a true monument to deli meat. The Foundation: Perfect Rye A sandwich is only as good as its vessel, and Katz's seeded rye is the gold standard. It features a crust that offers a slight "snap" when you bite into it, while the center remains soft enough to soak up the juices from the corned beef without disintegrating. The caraway seeds add that essential, earthy punch that cuts through the richness of the meat. The "Accessories" (The Full Reuben Experience) While the meat stands alone, the accompaniments elevate it to a gourmet level. To get the full experience, you have to lean into the "accessories": * Swiss Cheese: Thick, nutty, and perfectly melted. * Russian Dressing: Tangy and creamy with just the right amount of zest. * Coleslaw: Crisp, fresh, and not overly drowned in mayo--it provides a vital crunch. * The Pickles: No visit is complete without their signature pickles, which provide the sharp acidity needed to cleanse the palate. In an era of disappearing hospitality, the staff at Katz's are refreshingly helpful and efficient. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, there's a sense of "family" energy that makes the dining room feel warm. While deli prices have risen everywhere, Katz's offers genuine quality for what you pay. You aren't just paying for a sandwich; you're paying for premium cuts, house-made sides, and a portion size that usually guarantees a delicious lunch for the following day
