This review is a testament to the owner's character as well as her treatment of clients. Tl;DR: She will not wear a mask while treating you and does not wear a mask in public spaces. She posts unprofessional anti-mask rants and conspiracy images on her public business page. Final Update: An additional 3 clients (totalling 6) reached out to me with their stories after this post. The pictures of her personal instagram are from these clients, as I unfollowed her weeks ago. I have not been seeking out information, it has been sent to me by scared clients because they're afraid of speaking out on their own. Their fear is understandable, considering the owner's response to this review. Furthermore, I have reorganized my inital review updates below. I will not be updating this review unless more information is sent to me by my fellow former clients. I admit, the review is very long so I understand if it is not read in full. That said, it is important to speak out against harmful misinformation and behavior, even at personal risk. Review Update #1: This is an update on the review I posted almost a month ago regarding Heather's anti-mask and anti-vaxx posts on private and PROFESSIONAL socials. After that review, 3 customers of hers reached out to me and said they were also uncomfortable and wouldn't be going back. Another said that Heather refused to wear a mask during a recent appointment despite being asked to do so. Heather has since doubled down on these posts, saying that people asking for masks are throwing "tantrums" and "chipping away" at businesses. She originally posted that no one had to wear masks (falsely citing HIPAA and the ADA) and now claims she only meant pregnant women don't need to wear masks. Asking people to wear masks is not "ableist" despite her insistence that it is. If you can't wear it, take advantage of the curbside pickup, delivery, or one of the other reasonable accommodations being made available. Spreading misinformation regarding masks (and vaccinations!) is EXTREMELY dangerous and something that actively harms people. I will NEVER support Heather again, I hope that others who read this will join me and the aforementioned others in leaving. She clearly doesn't care about her clients. She has a story section dedicated to anti-vaxx falsehoods, regularly rants about masks on her story, and complains on FB about being "discriminated against" for not wearing a mask (where she's friends with many clients) Review Update #2: Heather keeps falsely claiming it's ableist to request people wear masks in businesses but is now posting horribly ableist things about an autism "cure" needing to be given the same attention as COVID-19 treatment because, apparently, autism is the same as a deadly virus with life altering effects on survivors? This is a whole new level of hypocrite. I'm actually mad. To imply autistic individuals are suffering and need to be cured is just... the worst. Pic attached. Heather cut my hair AFTER I asked her to not cut it. It is now shorter than it was before. When I brought this issue to her attention, she dismissed it, claiming that she didn't really cut that much when, note - I vocalized that I didn't want it to be cut in the first place. Now my friends have noticed it, and honestly it is painful to reach for the hair I don't have anymore. The hair that used to be there is gone, and against my will too. Heather is also not taking responsibility for this, which does add insult to injury. read more

Heather always does such a great job with my hair. I have a lot of wave, and she always cuts it in a way that makes it feel lighter but not overly thinned out. I appreciate this! She's always fun to chat with and is open to whatever new style you might want to try out. :) read more

One of the best and worst things about being mixed race is my hair! It is both full and soft, but it is deceivingly unmanageable. One morning it will be straight, the next day wavy, and the next day- well the sides have switched. Heather is one of the few people I have ever encountered who is able to properly take into consideration my hair texture, both in cutting and coloring this mess. She was even the one I trusted to chop off over 14 inches of hair when I went for a long bob over a year ago! She is absolutely wonderful at giving you a cut that you can manage yourself, and one that will withstand even the lazy people like me who get it cut once a year. Because she is also a photographer and stylist, she thinks beyond the mirror and chair and tries to give you a look that works in real life. Heather also is wonderful at taking your own personal style into consideration while styling or cutting your do- I'm a low maintenance, wash and go type of girl, so during my last cut she and I worked together to develop a cut that would help me grow out my long bob while giving me some layers to help with the texture. She is not the kind of stylist that will let you leave her chair feeling unsatisfied! read more

This is by far my favorite hair stylist I've ever been to. I stumbled upon her on Instagram, and I'm so glad I did! I have very thick hair, and Heather has always made my wildest wishes come true! From blonde to rose gold to hot pink to icy blonde. I can trust her with anything. I've been a loyal customer for years, and she is the only person I can trust with my hair (which has always been a, struggle for me). If you want friendly, and amazing serivce, you should definetly reach out. She will work with you to create whatever you're imagining. I have gone to Heather multiple times and each time my hair has turned out amazing. The first time I needed a color correction and she helped change my hair to a beautiful red brown color. The second time she not only cut my hair and made it healthy but also died it a beautiful red color and most recent time I have gone she made my hair ombré and it turned out wonderful! If you live in the Phoenix area and Heather isn't doing your hair, you need to reconsider your life choices. Seriously. I've been experiencing some major hair thinning because of hormone changes after cancer treatment. Heather checked into gentle hair dye options to cover my gray roots, a hair care system to help with thickening my existing hair and encouraging growth, and she cut it to look fuller. She is really careful to consult before she touches the scissors or dye, and asks a lot of questions about your hair history (for color) and what you're looking to do. She loves to look at your Pinterest inspiration and will be honest about what it will take to get your end result--and if your end goal isn't possible in a single visit (without destroying your hair). She recommends products based on what your lifestyle and I've never left feeling disappointed. She cuts men's and kids' hair, too, and does microblading if you need your brows done. read more

This was the first time that I ever left a hair salon feeling like I got what I paid for and then some. I waited a year, A WHOLE YEAR, to get my mousy brown hair with wild blonde grow out updated. I am that low maintenance. I had never met Heather, yet had seen her work on Instagram and knew that she understood the power of subtlety. While she is clearly a master of intense color, she adapts to the needs of her clients like no one else. She spent twenty minutes asking me more questions than a gynecologist; How do you like to wear your hair, what do you like about your color, your cut, what don't you like about your color, your cut, what is important to you about your hair, your look, etc. It was a full on consultation and I felt heard and understood. Before the appointment I mentioned maybe wanting a red tone like hers, but as low maintenance as I am and how often I am outdoors it might not be best. We loosely settled on updating the blonde, but I remained open. After our long chat Heather really understood my goals and needs, and as a result I came away with something I couldn't have even expressed in words. When I tried it came out as "adult hair". It was natural, it was high end, it was me perfected. The previous blonde was not a great blonde, and the application was also not so great, much thicker than I had asked for, not the painted on look that I had wanted (who knows how to express what they want to a stylist, not me). It was essentially a wall of blonde on the top covering my natural shade underneath and with time it had turned a less than desirable yellowish hue. I expected Heather to blend the blonde into my roots, making some parts lighter and all around damaging my hair more, but I assumed that was all that could be done. It wasn't! Heather enhanced my natural color, muted the insane blonde, helped them to both meet more sporadically somewhere in the middle, and then toned my hair to what I consider to be the best shades I have ever had aside from perhaps what I was born with. It is perfect for our slow transition into Fall, and my hair feels so healthy. I still haven't' washed it because I love touching it so much. Her products were amazing and I can't wait to stock up on them. Heather took me from grungy teenage angst hair to holy hot professional hair. I can now where my hair down with pride. Thank you a thousand times over Heather, so in love. I'll never go anywhere else now. See you in November! read more
