The cooking process was gradual, step by step and fun. Very interactive and the end results were delicious. They have a large variety of classes for customers of all ages and needs. Price is reasonable. Convenient location with no issues to find parking. We loved this educational yet entertaining experience very much. Highly recommend for any occasions. Chef Pat was equally fantastic, sharing super helpful tips and fun ways to switch up meals. And Courtney, who runs the shop, is one of the sweetest, most engaging people you'll ever meet. Honestly, I almost hate writing this review because I know more people will sign up and take the spots... but they absolutely deserve the praise. I'll definitely be a regular from now on. Time to start unlearning Grandma's tricks (love you, Grandma ).

I did the mud & merlot class. Interesting name as there was no merlot lol. I'm not sure if it's BYOB but no one was drinking which is fine because I don't drink myself. I'm not sure where one would place their bottle or glass anyway. Anywho, didn't care for the teacher. She rushed through explaining what to do. Thankfully there were assistants who helped the group as needed. So you do have to come back for a separate class to glaze your pottery. I'm not sure if that was explained in the initial booking. Parking is non existent in Ellicott city. Please plan your trip well.

The small class size (about 10-12 people) allowed for plenty of hands-on guidance from the instructor, who explained everything well while letting us customize our pieces. We could make a vase, bowl, or mug--I made a bowl and my friend made a mug. The instructor helped us refine our shapes and even took photos and videos at a key point in the process, which was a nice touch. The class lasted about 1.5 to 2 hours and had a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The class was $55 and you can book a glazing session for an extra $10 after the class. I'd love to try their six-week course in the future! The studio is in a great area with lots of nearby restaurants, but parking can be tricky, so plan to arrive early. They allow a 15-minute grace period, but after that, you can't join. Overall, I'd highly recommend this class for anyone looking for a creative and enjoyable experience!

A perfect date spot!…read more My husband and I visited The Pottery Stop for the first time today and had a great time! We texted beforehand to see if they had availability for potter painting today and made a reservation. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted, and a staff member explained the process. We got to pick out a piece to paint and there were a great variety of options! Pieces in different shapes and sizes from animals to more traditional dish ware and even fun holiday options. Each piece has a price listed on it as well which was nice to know before selecting an option. We picked matching cats to paint. We had a table reserved with our name on it and got some more directions once seated about tips on painting. The staff again was super friendly and helpful! After we got the intro, we painted away. There were a variety of tools, colors and staff helped us with any questions. Once we were done, we brought our pieces to the front and paid. You get your pieces back 1 week after your visit, and we can't wait to see how ours turned out!
