Extremely overpriced. The standard rate for highlights and trim is $140-$180. This salon was $300. I was a scheduled with a junior stylist and the senior stylist never checked her work. I had a full highlight and could still see grey after I left salon. No hair products were used to style my hair. No heat protector or hairspray. The facilities were rinky dink. They were using extension cords to plug in curling irons. The stands next to the mirrors were cheap and had no storage. The place was not set up for a hair salon. It's was filthy. This is the first time in my lifetime I have ever left a review for a hair salon . I went to this salon and had my hair colored. My hair turned out to be two colors. Darker on the roots and lighter everywhere else. I called the salon and they said to come back and they would fix it at no charge. I waited two weeks for an appointment, but I got sick with the flu and couldn't make that appointment I tried calling several times to make another appointment. They never got back to me. I left an E-mail asking for my money back. Again I didn't hear back from them. Don't use this salon!!! The stylist who colored my hair was late that day and had a four hour appointment after mine.The owner also did a bad job on my color she dyed the roots blonde. I've been trying various salons in the area and was optimistic about The Standard upon my first appointment. After experiencing sudden hair loss related to an illness, I came in for a color and cut. The stylist was very reassuring. Okaaaay, the color was not quite what I expected but sometimes you have to have a couple appointments before being completely happy. As is my usual practice, I had explained that the #1 error to make with me is to cut my thin, fine, wavy hair too short. That results in great difficulty trying to style it. However that's what I got. Okaaaay, sometimes I need to have a couple appointments to get this preference through to the stylist. I went to The Standard Salon and had such a great experience. Stephanie did my root touch-up and it looks perfect, the color matched so well and blended right in. Christy, the owner, put in my extensions and I can't get over how natural they look. My hair feels so much thicker and healthier, but still really soft and easy to style. Even though the salon was very busy, the team made sure every client was greeted right away and the phone was always answered in a friendly, helpful way. Christy made everyone feel so welcomed and created such a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. They even offered drinks and made sure I had everything I needed. HEADS UP! This salon is highly rated, and I was excited to get a nice hairstyle, and my hairstylist did a very nice job. I had shoulder length hair, and she cut off a couple of inches highlighted it covered the gray and styled it. I assumed it would be in the $200s for something like this, but imagine my shock after tip when it was $413! I was shocked! I would never knowingly spend that much money on my hair. This place has terrible customer service. My daughter waited a full hour past her appointment time, all the while being ignored by the 2 people working in the shop. They simply told her to wait and then proceeded to avoid eye contact with her while she waited, never updating her on why or how how long she'd be waiting, and acting basically like she didn't exist while they walked back and forth right front of her talking to each other. Not one word to her for 60 minutes! They could have done her the bare courtesy of saying they'd help her as soon as possible, but that didn't happen. My daughter is a kind person and waited patiently, and asked me not to say anything, but I am fuming at their rude treatment and would leave less than one star if I could. She finally had to let them know she had another appointment and would have to leave. I've had my hair done by some of the top salons and stylists in Beverly Hills and Christy and The Standard salon surpass the service every single time. The ambience and and vibe at the salon is amazing. It's exactly where you want to be when getting your hair done. This is how Christy/Alyssa does hair extensions. I am a terminally ill cancer patient who is just trying to feel like a whole woman again while bucket listing and this was the service I received after being charged $3,300!! I did the calculations and for supplies and hair should have been like $1,100 so the rest was labor, that comes out to about a lil over $600 an hour for garbage ass work and now refuses to refund me but she couldn't even do the job right! She had no business taking me on as a client if this is what her work is like. I could be ok with the price if the work mirrored it but not even on that level. Crawl before you walk Alyssa/christy. Utterly disgusting disgraceful and disrespectful!!!! And she knowingly did this to a cancer patient with a dying wish to have hair again. She has done balayage, color corrections, extension, red, highlights all which she makes sure you are satisfied with end result. I called her the hair God cause she is that good. I contacted the owner (sorry, can't recall her name) & got me in quickly. I I love the cut & color. 4 that, 5 stars. However, she was training someone on me & it took forever & I was her only client. It wasn't my hair that took the extra time. It was app 2 1/2-3 hrs due to training. I also have fairly short hair,m. So not a full cut other than the back & trim of sides & front. I've been to plenty of High-end salons before & have NEVER paid $300 for the same request. Not exactly how to attract customers. I'd return but not for that price. If you're a new client & I ask for more than a trim but less than a cut & highlights, I should've been made aware of the approximate cost. That's a conversation, especially if you're trying to attract clients in a brand new facility with no signage. I was SHOCKED at the $300 cost. That should be a conversation w/a new client. I've had my hair the same for the last 6-7 yrs & have NEVER paid $300, even at the most expensive salon. Had I known after talking about what i wanted, I would've left.
