Maddison is hands down the best hairdresser in Placer County! I've trusted her for many years and have referred so many friends and family to her, everyone ends up loving her just as much as I do. She truly knows hair and always takes the time to listen to what you like, while also giving great guidance and advice. She's amazing with color! And my hair is never fried. My color lasts so long because she knows exactly how to get the best results without damaging your hair. At one point my daughter wanted to go really dark. Maddison totally supported her vision. Then, about six months later when she wanted to go back lighter, Maddison worked her magic again all without any damage. On top of being an incredible stylist, Maddison also owns and manages the very successful salon, MINX. You can tell she's truly dedicated to her clients and her team. I can't recommend her enough! read more

I did a lot of research before reaching out because I knew the look I wanted was a bit of a project and would be a significant investment in my hair. When I was told a consultation was required before accepting new color clients, I happily scheduled one because I respected the process. At the consultation, I was told they'd check their schedule and get back to me that evening. I even said that if it ended up being the next day, that was completely fine. Instead, I didn't hear anything until I followed up, at which point I was told there wasn't anything available for at least three months but that they were still trying to find something. After waiting another week, I followed up again and never received a response. I completely understand that you're busy and that your schedule may be full. What I find disappointing isn't the wait, it's the lack of communication. As someone who was prepared to invest both the time and money into this service, I expected the same level of professionalism and follow-through that was asked of me. Being left to repeatedly follow up without a response feels disrespectful, and unfortunately it has left a poor impression of the experience. read more

I'd recommend anyone to come here and especially book with Alyssa! read more

I get my hair cut every two weeks by Gabby. Quick, efficient, and professional every time!

I've been going to Celeste since 2021 and she's been the absolute best! I loooove being blonde, but she makes sure my hair stays healthy in the process. I usually get a partial highlight and it grows out beautifully. All the girls in there are so sweet and the salon itself is super cute and cozy! read more

I always look for a hairstylist that will make sure my hair is healthy and happy when I leave the salon. Vanessa does just that! She doesn't push for anything that would not work for my hair and she always makes sure I am happy with the results. She understands exactly what I want even when I have a hard time explaining what it is! I love the atmosphere of the salon and on top of that, the location is beautiful! read more

Minx is my hair salon, so when my daughter Lexi got engaged I convinced her to have hair dresser & makeup artist Nicole help her with hair and makeup. We met with Nicole for a practice run, which went really well. Nicole listened to Lexi's ideas and concerns for both her makeup and hair. On the morning of the wedding, Nicole was calm and cool. She showed up early with Starbucks for Lexi and got to work. Nicole enhanced her beautiful features and hair, and got her to the chapel on time. It was the most beautiful I have ever seen Lexi and SHE felt so beautiful. Nicole contributed to making the day Magical! Thank you Nicole! read more

Vanessa is incredible, I've never been the type of person to stay consistent in getting my hair done until I met Vanessa. She always does a perfect job on my hair and is the perfect stylist for brown haired girlies looking to add some dimension or add some blonde. It never comes out brassy and is always so complementary to my complexion. I would recommend her 100000x!! read more

Love this salon! Christine does an amazing job every time I see her. I travel from an hour away and it is well worth the drive.

I followed my stylist Allie S. over to Minx after she moved from her old salon, and she's been doing my hair for several years now. The salon is beautiful (very charming and I really like the decor). The parking can get full but they have extra parking in back. All of the stylists are so nice and the vibe is fun and relaxed- you can tell everyone enjoys being there. Ashley is my stylist and she does my hair PERFECTLY every single time. She is able to make me blonde without damaging my hair and makes it look so natural. Her coloring skills and cutting skills are incredible. I used to not like getting hair cuts at all because I always felt like they looked so choppy but her haircuts and trims are perfect and the color is always exactly what I want. I am always asking for something new and I've always left extremely happy with my hair and feeling so relaxed and that's how it should be after a salon visit! I can't recommend her enough. I will gladly make the drive from Lincoln for such an amazing experience. read more

Salon is BEAUTIFUL and I love that they offer drink services. My stylist was very sweet during the booking and services but my overall experience was not great and I won't return. I'm not happy with how my hair turned out. Took almost 5hrs to do my hair although I was already very close to what I wanted. Did not achieve the look I had asked for and feel like my hair looked better before getting it done here, which is a bummer, feels like I wasted over $300. I reached out to my stylist about my concerns and she didn't seem to care at all that I wasn't happy and then left me on read lol Not a good way for the stylist to keep customers. Just make sure you ask for a consultation before getting your hair done so you know exactly what they're doing and what you are, or are not, getting so you aren't left disappointed in the end. read more

I have been coming to see Karlee for over a year and I am so impressed. Whether I know exactly what I want or need some guidance I leave feeling great! Super color, cut, and extensions. Love it here and would expect nothing less from any of the other stylists! read more

I hate to give this review but I was sorely disappointed with the customer service recently. I had my first appointment that went ok back in September. During that time it was mentioned that there are apparently 20+ stylists that work at Minx (maybe more?). I bring this up because I think it has relevance to why I am rating this one star. So, I had my initial visit that went ok. My overall experience was so-so but my hair turned out great so I felt it a good call to go back. So, I had a special holiday event this week and I wanted to have my hair touched up and also styled because of the purpose of the celebration. I called weeks ago and scheduled my appointment and explained why I wanted my appointment for morning and the work event I was going to. You know where this is headed, right? I got my text reminder of the appt. 24 hours before, and I'm feeling good that everything is going as planned. Then, around 2 pm the day BEFORE (read: more or less 18 hours notice) I get a phone call from the desk gal saying that my stylist had to cancel because she "wasn't feeling well." Which is convenient given it's a holiday week and I'm pretty sure "not feeling well" = wanted an extra snow day or opted to help out her friend who needed her hair done over me, or whatever. Even if it was 100% true, my stylist is just truly sick, how about one of the other 20+ Stylists take over and help a co-worker out? Nope. "Sorry, there is nothing available. I can fit you in next month?" No thanks. I told her how upset I was that I had this planned due to a work celebration and she didn't care. No one cares. Luckily I had a hairstylist girlfriend who was able to help me out, even though it meant a drive for me back to my hometown. But, my impression of Minx salon totally effing me over right before a big event and not offering me a back up solution will forever strike me as truly crappy business ethics. read more

Ask the price of the service before they start! In my experience my girl only works one day a week, but she forgot to say her price increased due to her working one day a week! I went to her for over 7 years and she NEVER charged me the same price for her service!!! $65.00 for trimming five hairs, color and dry is all she ever did! But for 7 years never the same price!! What happened to the good old days. I had my hair done every 4 weeks and never cancelled an appointment, I was guaranteed money! Do you folks know what it's like to find a new hair person! I still cannot get over this! read more

V cute. Jessica is the reason I drive 30 plus to get there. She's amazing for cut and color!

Most comfortable, homey salon! Note: this review is of the business and facility not a specific hair dresser. Upon arrival, the parking is really tricky to figure out..so do your research before you leave home. The salon is clearly marked, you can see it from the main road. It seems to be a residential home converted to a business. Their exterior is wonderfully clean and trendy. It's nice to have a welcoming salon facade. The reception is a bit trick to find but after a quick glance around you should be able to find it on your own. Everything indoors was tidy and organized. There's plenty of room around each chair for dressers to move around without issues. Their chairs and hair sinks (?) are totally comfortable, didn't have a moment of soreness or annoyance after a little over an hour in the chair. And I have to touch on the staffs behavior: great team and easy to understand/ work with. I'm looking forward to trying them again post-corona when we're back to normal. read more

I had previously used a box dye to dye my hair blonde and it was growing out very awkwardly. I came to Sage and asked her to color my hair so that it would grow out looking natural and I would not need more coloring or work done on it to look nice. It has now been a full year and it still looks amazing! I didn't need any extra work done just like I asked. I also loved spending the time with her as shes so sweet and very fun to be around. When I do want to get my hair done again I will definitely come back to her! read more

We came to see Megan for a drastic short hair cut for our mother and let me tell you, we did not leave here disappointed. My mother had a picture of the exact cut she wanted and Megan absolutely nailed it!!! My mother and our whole family is actually sooo impressed and happy with the outcome. Megan was professional, courteous and extremely kind. She cared about my mother and took her into consideration when suggesting some changes about her cut. Overall it was a great experience and we were very pleased and most importantly, our mother walked out of there feeling and looking absolutely fabulous. We are coming back for sure and highly recommend Megan. read more

I went and got my hair done by sage and needless to say my shit was trashed coming in. I looked like that motherfucker from Harry and the Hendersons. Cassandra Macy is the BEST! I had been looking for a hair dresser for awhile. I had a fellow yelper recommend her and i am sure glad she did. The salon is in a very cute, old two story house in Loomis. It is very modern with cool stylist chairs and a nice waiting area. Everyone has always been very nice when i go. Cassandra is very easy to talk to and makes me feel comfortable as if i have known her for years. I usually get my hair colored and trimmed every few months or so and I always leave happy. My only complaint is that the parking lot does seem to get pretty crowded. There is parking in the front and back, but so far I have always found a spot since my appointments are usually first thing in the morning. read more
