Miso Salmon Bowl
Amanda C.

I REALLY like this Stand location! I've been to a few of these and this one is by far my favorite. Inside it's just nicer, quieter and less crazy and has lots of tables that feel nice to eat off of. The outdoor portion also feels equally nice to dine at and doesn't feel like just a few chairs added outside for the sake of it. This time we got the miso salmon bowl which was really good and filling (very easy to split) and a side of sweet potato fries. I loved feeling like I didn't have to get a burger to feel satisfied here. Everything was delicious and staff accommodated every request! Pretty much everyone we talked to were nice and kind so it seems like great staff too! Really happy with this one, will definitely be back!

Chocolate Shake

The Onion Soup Burger and chocolate shake were exquisite. It was a novel experience dipping the burger into the onion soup.

Teriyaki Chicken Bowl

Loving The Stand right now as it's the perfect spot for every member in my family to get what they want. My son usually goes for a cheeseburger and fries. My husband does a lettuce wrapped burger with alll the toppings and a side salad. My current obsession is the teriyaki chicken bowl, sub lettuce for rice and add pickled jalapeños. Bursting with flavor, so filling and totally nourishing - chefs kiss! Parking is plentiful, though the spots right outside the restaurant can get full. The restaurant itself is bright and spacious and there's a nice patio area as well. Great to stop in with the family or online order and takeout is a breeze.

Short Rib Grilled Cheese with fries
Jessie D.

Yum! I've been to the stand in Orange County, but decided to try this one on vacation. Yummmmm! My short rib grilled cheese was fantastic, with perfectly cooked meat, crispy onions, and the right amount of cheese. The fries were pretty good too. I recommend their ranch and bbq sauce for dipping, but I found their ranch was more of a garlic aïoli than a traditional ranch in texture and flavor. They have great outside and inside seating, though it was pretty busy seeing it was a Friday afternoon.

Southwest chicken burger w guacamole, bacon, sweet chili aioli, and corn relish
Sarah B.

This is a most elevated burger experience! With their house made aiolis and the astounding variety of options you can feed everyone in the family. The salads are plentiful, the bowls are amazing with plenty of veggies-the seared 2.0 burger is over the top delicious. I keep returning to the southwest chicken burger, but the shroom havarti is also stellar. Fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings are ON POINT! They have Mac n cheese and nuggets for the kids, great service, a great variety of local beers on tap. This is no greasy spoon. This is a wonderfully elevated burger experience. You'll never want to go anywhere else for a burger.

ABC Burger
Aubrey H.

My family and I have been here twice already and both times have been freaking amazing! Hands down some of the best burgers we've ever had. We've tried the ABC Burger, chili fries, chips & guacamole, Onion Stack, and Jalapeño Burger. All the burgers were cooked perfectly to our preferences. First bites and it was heavenly. The fries on the chili fries were crispy and the chili complimented it nicely. Seriously, if you're looking for a fantastic burger and great service. The Stand is a must try.

Chili Fries
Lou H.

I came back for a second time and the kids crispy chicken bites were a hit with the mini-me. Everything was as good as last time, except the chips and guac are not as good as the chili fries, but still good. This time I had the Onion Stack burger, just to try something different though I was craving another jalapeño burger. The Onion stack did not disappoint. Odd to say this considering I also had onion rings, but I can't stand the taste of onions. Thankfully, the onion strings in this burger made it more of a western bbq burger and less of an onion anything. My only complaint is that the onion rings were soft. They weren't bad, tasted alright, but not what I look for in onion rings. I like more crunch and less onion in the onion ring, but again these were ok. Based off this experience I'd say it was 4 stars, but still reminiscing about the jalapeño burger I'm keeping the review at 5. Well that's this critic's review. Until next time, I'll be eating.

The service was genuinely friendly and impressively fast, even with a busy crowd. You order at the counter and wait at your table, and the dining room is bright and clean. Still, it's hard to ignore how messy and disorganized the space feels. Cases of cups were stacked in the dining area, and there wasn't a designated spot for condiments--I actually had to grab Tabasco from a table someone was leaving. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with bacon, which is definitely large and packed with eggs, cheese, hash browns, salsa, and your choice of protein. Unfortunately, the size didn't translate to flavor. The bacon came as three very greasy, soft slices clumped on one side, and the whole burrito tasted oily and bland. Even after drowning it in salsa and Tabasco, I couldn't finish it. I wouldn't order it again. Many people swear by their burgers and fries, and considering they've been around for over 40 years, they're clearly doing something right. Maybe next time I'll try what they're known for--but the breakfast burrito was a miss for me.

SO SAD - Dog Haus decided to change their menu as a whole company nationwide and I don't know if it…read morereally satisfies us the way it used to. Dog Haus is known as an American craft-casual restaurant that's famous for their gourmet hot dogs and sausages all served on Hawaiian bread rolls. However, the new menu eliminated a good amount of their reputation! They sell smash burgers and grilled chicken, but it's called Dog Haus. The menu no longer has items like the spicy Italian, smoked apple sooo veggie sausage, chicken-mozzarella, and curried Thai Fighter wurst. Now, they highlight their normal hot dog and pork sausage - that's it. They used to sell their gourmet and different flavor combination sausages and bratwurst, but now they don't. It's turned into a restaurant like Sonic (but without the fun desserts and drinks) and Shake Shack (but at least Shake Shack has shakes.) They lost their uniqueness. Other than the company decision, which was probably the wurst business move, they also did not communicate clear enough to their employees because everyone at this location seemed to be over it. The guy at the cash register was incredibly annoyed that we didn't automatically understand that onion rings obviously aren't on the menu like before and onion strings are the new thing and what the differences are. We're sad because we really liked this restaurant and location, but it's not worth the food that's now pretty basic at most other American restaurants. Having smash burgers as a hot-dog place vs. selling hit smash burgers at somewhere like Fat Sal's where they're known for that is a bit different. Additionally, the customer service was NOT it. I asked for a water cup and was very disappointed to see that even after running the water for a few seconds, the water was still pink and not clear. When we got our food, our onion rings now onion strings were one of the saddest "shareables" side on their menu. They were limp, oily, hard to eat, and definitely not the move. We ordered entrees and weren't too impressed now that the dogs were normal, as well. Ambiance wise - they have seating inside, some seating outside, and inside have a tv where things like the FIFA World Cup play on a big screen.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

It's in the Promenade, so it can get a little crowded since it's in a busy shopping center. Free parking is available, though, which is nice. A lot of families and kids are typically here, especially since they're open pretty late (10/11pm) compared to the other places nearby in the area. With this in mind, a lot of the workers are mainly high school students or recent graduates. It's nice coming here on late night for a milkshake, whether it's classic or a trendy limited edition one; all are great. Their burgers are smash burgers without being in your face about it, and taste better than they look. For how they look though, I don't know why Shake Shack food always looks like it's been through a mild depression, although they're good tasting for looking a little sad. Their fries are pretty unique when it comes to fast food claiming their shapes, like Chick-fil-a with the waffle fries or In-n-Out's style, and are more like a crinkle cut.
