My boyfriend and I both ordered the Carne Asada burrito, the flavor was awesome! The size was big and filling but not insanely large. The meat itself was kind of chewy. They don't wrap the burrito how you would expect so it quickly falls apart and becomes a yummy mess of food. Would recommend and will come again! read more

Salsa is juicy and fresh, green sauce was the tastiest I've ever had with the roasted tomatillo flavor that you only get with fresh homemade salsa verde. They salt their chips like they should, rice and beans are yummy. Meat is generous in the taco, I had the carne asada. read more

Been going here for years when I visit each summer for two/three weeks. The locals always know the good spots and helped us find this one. I love the recession tacos and just about everything I've ever tried here. It's a quick lunch/diner atmosphere not a sit down restaurant (in fact we usually order to go and eat back at our house rental) but there are several tables inside and out. We like the tacos. I think we usually have the carne and it comes with a yummy sauce on the meat -- more of a beef chili colorado flavor than carne. Whatever it is, it's tasty. And Raiders fans run the place. It's more of a stand than a restaurant, so you don't get chips and salsa, and you shouldn't expect to be waited on. I don't understand the hype whatsoever. The waiter was spun. They don't take cards so cash or check. The pinto beans were canned. The rice tasted like the 1$ packets of Spanish rice from the grocers. And the carne asada was not asada. It was steak cut into small pieces. I never understood why, but all my friends rave about this place and some of them go weekly. I've only eaten their tacos a few times (and their rice) and I'm not impressed at all. I think the quality of their meat isn't that good or maybe it's the way they cook it, idk. It was like dry and hard. Their rice was dry too. Super delicious and every bit as good as they make in California at authentic taco shops where we normally eat. My husband and I eat Mexican food every day since he's Mexican. This place was just what we were looking for. I grew up in the area but moved away and remember it being on avenue U so its important to note the new location closer to Broadway..... I guess so tourists can walk over or working locals can have an awesome lunch. I had the half and half which is a veggie burrito soooo good I ate it two days in a row. I moved to the area from Texas where Mexican food is as easy to come by as Starbucks. I was overjoyed to find a local place doing legit Mexican food with fresh ingredients and delicious sauces. If you happen to stop by when the special is the Pork Colorado, don't even read the rest of the menu. If not, get the pork American taco or any of the burritos. I now eat here almost once a week and have NEVER had a bad (or less than great) meal from here. Prices are reasonable and they take call-ahead orders if they're not too busy to answer the phone. I've lived in Seaside for 3 years and the Stand is the best restaurant in town. Period. Excellent, friendly service - usually from the owner. Great prices. Fresh ingredients, many locally sourced. And the only good guacamole in town. Although I've never been to Mexico I don't think this would qualify as traditional Mexican fare. But it's not tex/mex either. It's a very Oregonian take on it. The nachos are great - I'd recommend the ones with roasted veggies. Burritos are excellent and can be served enchilada style - with sauce on top. Beans and rice are both vegetarian. The only minor drawback for me is the salsa. It's unique - fresh and chunky. I like to pour it on whatever I'm eating but just don't really enjoy it on chips. They have a recently acquired beer license and a small outdoor seating area, both of which make it an ideal place for a summer lunch. I believe they are closed weekends. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. It's not a huge place but you could probably fit a group of 10 or so if they're not too busy. If you agree with my rating you might want to try Left Coast Siesta in Manzanita too. They're my other favorite place on the coast for (semi-)Mexican. read more
