As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the lady behind the counter. She walked me through the menu, answered my questions, and before long my order was in. I went with the chicken and dressing, green beans, and fried okra. Now let me warn you... this place isn't fancy. If you're expecting white tablecloths and fine china, you're in the wrong place. After a short wait, they called my name and brought my meal to the table nestled inside a good ol' Styrofoam container. I popped the lid, and a cloud of steam rolled out that let me know this food hadn't been sitting around. The fried okra was good. Personally, I like mine just a little crispier, but it still hit the spot. The green beans and that chicken and dressing? Whew... they were absolutely fire. That's the kind of comfort food that makes you slow down and enjoy every bite. Now I understand why people keep talking about King's Kitchen. Great home-style cooking, friendly folks, and a relaxed atmosphere are hard to beat. If you're looking for a solid meat-and-three in Tuscaloosa, this one deserves a visit. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu.

The attitude felt unprofessional and a bit off-putting, which kind of took away from the overall experience. I believe good service matters just as much as good food, so I hope that gets better. Coming and going to and from the games can become pretty boring. We like to mix it up a bit and take highways instead of the interstate. We choose different ones to keep it interesting. One of our trips took us through Greensboro Alabama and we were hungry. I looked online at the restaurant options and found M&M Mustang Oil Restaurant was a meat and three type of restaurant with southern food. That's right up our Alabama hearts. We headed that way. Did ya know that Greensboro Alabama is the Alabama Catfish Capital? No?....... Yep! So guess what I just had to have! Good ole USofA raised Mud Cat! It was delicious! That was almost a year ago and we have been going back ever since. This was our third time to go. I have had the catfish plate and the Po-Boy. Helen gets either 3-4 of the sides or the catfish plate which comes with two sides plus hush puppies or cornbread. We also have had the Cheese Logs and the Fried Mushrooms. Everything is delicious! The Cheese Logs are by far the best cheese sticks we have ever had. Talk about molten cheese! Mary (server and cook) uses pepper jack to make the logs. They are slap your grandma good! Onion rings-terrific. The coleslaw is too. If I had to find something it would be that I like my purple hull peas cooked down, way down, like all day cooked down. These are good but just not how I eat them. One last thing. Every one of the tables has home preserved peppers on them. The juice goes great on the cornbread and the peas. Even the coleslaw is better with it. I dare ya to pull a pepper or two out and pop em in your mouth! Especially the tiny sport peppers. They will burn you twice, coming AND going, if ya know what I mean. Go on, don't fret about what it looks like inside or out. You are going to get some delicious food and you will thank me later. Do not forget the catfish. Unless it is an off day it will be the best you have plopped into your mouth!

We came here based on Yelp reviews (there really isn't much in the area). Seeing the accolades and rave reviews gave us high expectations, which were quickly dashed. We went in to place our order and found the cashier impatient. As far as we could tell, the only menu is taped to the counter directly in front of the register, so you can't really decide what you want until you get up there. Among my family of 4, we got pulled chicken, burgers, and chicken tenders with various sides. The pulled chicken was good, but the white BBQ sauce was overly sweet and not good. The burgers and chicken tenders are all just cooked from frozen, so nothing special. The slaw was truly horrible-- mayonnaise-based with imitation bacon bits leaching their color into the dressing. The onion rings were actually good-- fried nice and crispy, but again, pre-frozen. All the while, you're sitting in a gas station with flies everywhere. In summary, the food was edible, but it was certainly nothing to write home about. It tasted like your typical fairground food at more reasonable prices.
