Back Porch Smokehouse…read more The Back Porch Smokehouse is a small, unassuming BBQ establishment attached to the movie theater in Robinson. In addition to BBQ, they have an ample selection of steaks, chicken, and burgers. I decided to give the brisket plate a try. While the brisket was tasty, it was quite a bit different from the traditional Texas-style brisket I'm accustomed to eating. The brisket was "chunky" versus "sliced". The sides of potatoes and cole slaw were adequate, but nothing special. I'd probably make a different selection from the menu next time.

This would have been a decent lunch experience if I hadn't been charged nearly $25 for a scoop of pulled pork and a bowl of lettuce with some cheese. If you're going to charge like a 5 star smokehouse then serve great food with trained service. $12 meal for double the price.

Really fun, western, rustic restaurant theme. Hitchin Post is essentially a cozy diner. Sunday lunch special is the big hit. Chicken noodles, stuffing, green beans, and more. A decent selection of desserts. Food during my first visit was a tad on the salty side, but haven't had that issue on subsequent visits. Chow has been spot on. Service is quick and friendly. Price can't be beat. I'm withholding one star based on the menu. Standard fare from cover to cover, but a five star joint should have a unique, defining dish that sets it apart. Sunday chicken noodles might be it, but I'd love to see what else they can hash together in the kitchen. Nice place for a good lunch.

There was a lot of things on the menu I would be excited to try. We got there on the anniversary so there were 3 Christmas themed drinks that were $4 each which was a great deal. The moscato punch was great! As an appetizer we got the JB's béchamel Boats. These were basically a little fancier potatoe skins. They were very good. It came with 4 of them and the Bechamel sauce did make them special. I got the Norwegian Salmon which was honey glazed. It was good. I would recommend. I wish it was more charred on the edges. I got the mashed potatoes and the garlic Parmesan broccoli. If you like garlic, you will love the broccoli. It was really flavorful! You get a ton of mashed potatoes and they were good. My boyfriend got surf and turf. A filet mignon and scallops. He got two scallops and they were both wrapped in bacon. It thought they were smaller than what he was expecting. The steak he thought was good as well and the French onion soup he got as a side. As dessert we got the chocolate lava cake and the bread pudding. Both were really good! The atmosphere is decently fancy with waiters dressed in nice clothing and nice table clothes on all the tables. Definitely a good vibe. I would go again but would try other entrees.

Servers were hard to find to ask for more (we only got ONE drink refill the rest of the meal they were dry!)! I didn't taste the steaks, but the main issue was serving! The delicious shrimp is the only reason they got more than one star

I had the tenderloin and it was terrible. It was ground up meat with a very sweet breading I could barely eat it so I left it there. The fries looked pretty good but they were cold so I didn't eat much of them. When the server finally came around to give us the check, she asked if I wanted a box and I said no so she just grabbed my plate didn't ask why. I really wouldn't recommend this place to anybody although there has been some pretty good reviews. Maybe she just didn't like our company!
