My girlfriend surprised me with a date night here and it turned out to be one of the most fun and memorable experiences we've had in Santa Monica. From the start the vibe was creative, laid back, and perfect for letting loose and having fun. Splattering paint, creating something together, and laughing the whole way through was already worth the visit but what truly made this place stand out was the owner. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time possible. Not only did he check in often to make sure we were taken care of, but he also surprised us with a round of drinks on the house and the real cherry on top came when we went back to pick up the bears we painted. He surprised us again by taking the leftover paint from our session and turning it into two beautiful canvas pours for us to take home. That extra effort showed how much he cares about his guests and their experience, and it turned a fun date night into something truly special and personal. Let me not forget to mention that his playlist was fire ....The music kept the energy high and added to the creative anything goes atmosphere. It's the kind of detail that makes the whole experience feel curated instead of just another activity spot. If you're looking for a unique date spot, group outing, or even a solo creative escape, The Splatter Studio is a must. You'll walk out with more than just your artwork you'll leave with amazing memories (and maybe even a surprise or two). We'll definitely be back!

Such a fun experience for kids and/or adults! Can grab an adult beverage up front and then go play. They nicely package up your art to bring home. All around great time for all.

If I could give a 6th star I would. Bashir is the owner and fabulous host. His team is great and accommodating. The venue is a perfect concoction of fun and art with an option to have a drink. The music makes the event even more enjoyable. Thanks Bashir- my wife had a great time celebrating her birthday at Splatter Studio.

Had so much fun at the splatter studio for a birthday party tonight. We had the best time painting each other, the canvases, and the walls. 10/10 vibes. 10/10 service. Would love to come back again.

This is an amazing place! We had so much fun "playing" and creating art! The place was clean and accommodating, there's places to store your things so that they stay clean and they have a bar! We loved every minute and can't wait to go back again!

Amazing service and incredible ambiance. The pineapple mule drink is incredible you must try while you paint . Will be coming back.

Amazing idea for a date night! It was a ton of fun getting to know my date in this environment.. let's everyone's guards down in a super fun environment ;)

Highly recommend Splatter Studio if you want a fun and unique experience for any occasion. Proprietor Bachir Zeroual is fantastic in creating and managing your event top to bottom. You can have full catering and a bar as well!

Had such amazing time coming here to celebrate my bf birthday! I recommend the BOGO Wednesday's or the Black light experience. Staff was very friendly and welcoming and I am looking forward to returning again!

Timing really matters here. It is best to come during off hours if you want any chance of getting a lounge chair to set your belongings down or take a break. When it is busy, seating is very limited and can get crowded quickly. The pool itself is not ideal for young children or anyone expecting a gradual entry. There is no graded or zero-depth entrance. Instead, you enter via a ladder directly into about four feet of water, with a rope separating this area from the deeper section. This setup may be fine for confident swimmers, but it felt less family-friendly than anticipated. Conversely, if you are looking to swim laps, this is not a lap pool. It is purely recreational. The changing and bathroom area is very open, and the showers offer no privacy. The shower water was also quite cold, which was not especially comfortable, particularly for kids. If you are expecting enclosed changing rooms or warm showers, this may be disappointing. Parking is public street parking only, paid at meters, which adds another layer of planning and cost. Overall, while the beach house is in a beautiful spot and can be enjoyable under the right circumstances, the lack of amenities, limited seating, and less-than-ideal pool and changing facilities make it hard to fully relax or recommend, especially for families with young children.

There are FREE LIVE CONCERTS & ACTIVITIES FOR FANS OF HOLLISTER scheduled for various dates between May 23rd and August 3rd 2014..Also on site are DJs, a Juice Bar, Yoga Lessons, Beach Volleyball, Fashion Shows, Free Food & Snacks. There are games galore to play in the backyard like ping pong. Of course, in the meantime, the Hollister brand is being pimped big time, along with Abercrombie & Fitch--a Hollister corporate partner. But being close enough to the beautiful Santa Monica beach to hear the ocean cannot hurt the "Cali branding" and seems to help equate Hollister with cool , fashionable kids and happy memories of fun in the summertime. I went online to see if there were any free tickets left for a teen wanting to visit the Beach House for a show and darn it--they were all sold out and wait listing. Hollister hopefuls must be at least 14 years old and reside in the greater Los Angeles, CA. area to apply. Parental consent is required for anyone under 18 to attend performances. Photograph submissions with applications of you dressing in your best 'So Cal style' will decide whether you are emailed an eticket or not. Though the Hollister House is clearly a shill for Hollister clothing, I can't help but at least give it 4 YELP STARS for making a fun place for tweens & teens to enjoy the action.

The tub is the highlight. One comment would be that when we checked in with Anthony, who was so sweet to our toddler, also kept telling us we were getting upgraded to a very nice room. We got all excited. It was a normal room. The "very nice upgrade" just meant that we were on floor 5. I barely call that an upgrade but ok. - we asked for a crib, and we go a nice crib with a cute little baby soap kit from noodle and boo- very nice touch. And baby robes for the kids- my toddler loved it. My toddler was on a rollaway bed and they were super accommodating about it- great experience on that front. - balconies are tiny and I never saw anyone out when I sat out - pool staff was super nice. It was a chilly weekend and the pool could have been warmer (I couldn't get in, but I really don't like cold water). - the beach chairs are also very nice and we were surprised to find them available - they were extremely pleasant about our friends visiting us every day! - the lobby waiter during the day was almost inexistant. We had to go to the bar to ask for drinks. The woman at night was great. Now for the food...: - coast has a great breakfast, the lemon ricotta pancakes are excellent (though stupid expensive for pancakes) - pico is a good spot for shrimp cocktail and calamari. Hasn't seen shrimps that big in a long time. - overall the food was good everywhere but way overpriced.... The kids menu are ridiculous... hard to justify spending $28 on kids pancakes. That being said, the portions were the same as adult portions... maybe make the portions smaller, and price more accessible? Overall we had a great stay, and while on the expensive side, we agreed we would come back. Nicely done!

This happened on 7/28/2024. I walked home and within a few hours, I began projectile vomiting, among other things. I definitely know it was the breakfast steak, which I usually never get. I thought it would pass in a few days, no big deal. It did not, and it turned into Sepsis and Pancolitis within a week. I was bleeding internally and by the next Sunday, I called the paramedics to my home because I could not stand up. I almost lost my life. I spent almost 40 days in the hospital over the next 4 months - it's now May 2026 and I still need one surgery that my insurance does not cover. I had every complication under the sun. I lost my home, my new office that I just signed the lease for with an ocean view, my vehicle, my good credit, but most importantly, my good health. I had never been admitted to the hospital before in my life. I am a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, so I lived a very healthy lifestyle, working out frequently, clean diet. I contacted ETC Hotel group, Edward, who owns the Coast Restaurant in Shutters along with Casa Del Mar next door. They had no response for me. I am forced to get a lawyer now. I was supposed to join LAXPD that year. I already finished testing. This has, clearly, been put on hold. Edward was the one who did not get back to me. I emailed corporate and his personal email. Update: June 9, 2026. Hello Elica Y. I am highly offended by your response. Please, no response is better than a lie. There was no comprehensive review. Your insurance company, United, requested information from my lawyers which has not been sent out yet. In fact, according to my bank statements, I dined at your restaurant, Coast, the evening before AND the morning of this incident. Chef Vitorrio would always bring out food for me as we were very friendly and I was a local. Do better. Say nothing.

There are plenty of comfortable places to sit, relax and enjoy the ocean view near this beautiful dwelling, or you can grab a bite to eat at the Back On The Beach Cafe. I wandered into the Marion Davies Guest House soon after it opened that Sunday, and docent Susan McCarthy gave me and another couple a wonderful tour. It was fascinating to learn this was only one of the guest quarters on this oceanfront property, along with the lavish 110-room mansion the actress shared with William Randolph Hearst. Sadly, everything else except one pool was bulldozed for a parking lot! Though Davies had numerous affairs, she remained Hearst's mistress until he died. They entertained a variety of celebrities here, including Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable, Pola Negri, David Niven and Joan Crawford. Peruse the photos on the walls, and watch the video, "The True Story of Marion Davies," for a delicious dose of Hollywood history. It had been a while since I had been here and they have added to their menu. I love the bowls and that you can make your own by picking the base (noodles - rice or vermicelli, rice -- jasmine or brown), choose a sauce (garlic lime, peanut or sweet chili), adding a protein (tofu and mushroom, chicken, pork, beef or shrimp) and finally you can add a topping (crispy onions, yams, leek crisps or pesto) -- those are $.75 extra. My bowl was so delicious -- I had the Tofu and Shitake mushroom bowl and it was so delicious and fresh I wanted to lick the plate. I also decided to try a black sesame latte -- it was ok, not as good as I wanted it to be. There is also a little kitchen for a quick take away meal if you don't have time -- if you never went to the bathroom you might not know it existed because you have to walk through the restaurant (from the patio) to see the take away section.
