Susan took me back to my room, and told me that the massage table had a red light feature and asked if I would like her to turn it on. I said sure! That would be great, thanks. Nothing else was mentioned and she flipped the switch to turn it on. She then left, I got undressed, and got onto the bed to wait for my massage. Halfway through the massage, she told me she was going to use cupping on my upper back because it was tight. I said okay. Susan never once mentioned it was an additional cost. Later, as I am up at the front desk checking out, (for the first time) she mentions that the red light on the bed and the cupping were an additional $30 combined. I was very confused, and said "I didn't know that those things were an additional cost." She replied and said "I know, I didn't mention it." Needless to say I was flabbergasted. Then she said "it's hard to talk about money when you're relaxed and on the massage table." (After I left I thought to myself, I wasn't even on the massage table yet when she asked me if I wanted her to turn on the red light feature.) Because of my confusion as I was checking out, she said she'd "do me a favor and discount the additional $30 cost down to $20." I was extremely uncomfortable, felt put on the spot, paid, and left. I couldn't shake the feeling of being taken advantage of, so I emailed her that night, explaining this and how uncomfortable I felt. I asked if she would be willing to refund me the additional cost, and only charge me for what I originally booked: an hour long Swedish massage. She ignored my email and the follow up email I sent 3 days later. I didn't ask her to do these additional things, she offered them up without disclosing the cost. And at no point during the online booking process were these things disclosed. You're given the option to add on the sauna or NSDR, both of which I declined. Such an awful feeling to have information kept from you throughout the entire process and then sprung on you last minute. I just hope this review can help prevent this from happening to someone else in the future.

I enjoyed a 90 minute Swedish massage and hydro facial. Tiffany, my masseuse, has pure magic in her hands. I requested gentle firm pressure and she nailed it...not quite deep tissue, but still therapeutic. Ann, my esthetician, scrubbed, polished and hydrated my skin to perfection. The lymphatic drainage massage was my favorite part. The spa is light on amenities meaning there is not a hot tub or pool. However, it delivers the best waiting room you'll likely experience. Lounge chairs sit atop stones in a pool of water. The sounds of the babbling waters, nature (gentle bird callings) and music will deliver you straight to serenity while you await your service provider. See my pics! Erica, who is an assistant spa manager, is super UNfriendly. It was odd to find such an UNhappy person in such a tranquil setting, but even her rudeness couldn't dampen my spirits or experience. Let's hope she's in the back of the house when you visit. Cheers to protecting your energy while investing in your self-care!

My Godmother had booked 5 massages for 5 of us ladies, vacationing in Sea Island for the week...months in advance. Months in advance, she had our massages booked. However, when we arrived they couldn't & wouldn't get the 5 of us in (on a Tuesday)...two had to have theirs 3 days later, on a Friday. And of the 3 of us that had our massages on the Tuesday prior, it was a struggle to get us in at the planned 11am time slot and not one of us at 12:00pm. We spent a good 35min attempting to sort out a way for us to all get a massage in as close together as possible with the front desk receptionist, to no avail. To boot...the 3 of us that did go on a Tuesday, never received a tour of the spa. We had no idea of the Vitamin C showers, eucalyptus steam room, or the sauna. We thought we only had access to the locker area, after our massages, where we quickly had a snack. I'm quite sure this would've been a 5 star experience on another day for someone but unfortunately for us, 2 stars is the most I can give it and the 2nd star is bc of the great job that Tim did, getting the knots out of my neck & shoulders. It had been 17yrs since I had a professional massage. I was really looking forward to the full experience of it being done in a spa, let alone an award winning one. *I am still extremely grateful for the experience, nonetheless. **And I'm forever grateful to my Godmother, Jules for such a thoughtful, caring, meaningful gift. ***Thx, Jules!

I've had 3 spinal fusions and live with ongoing spinal and spasm issues. I wasn't looking for a relaxing massage but a skilled medical massage and found my person in Barbara. I see her every 2 weeks and can attest to her precision skills in not only giving a first class massage but also in knowing the science to zero in on muscle structure that brings pain, spasms, restricts movement and causes referred pain. Barbara's skills bring relief and I am very comfortable with her knowledge base for my back issues. She trains regularly to incorporate appropriate the latest techniques and grow as a professional. She has a new convenient office on SSI which is very comfortable and she is not overpriced considering her excellent skills in medical oriented massage and all massage types, relaxation included!

First, there is no way to make an appt except online. There is a phone number that asks you to leave a message but no one checks it. 3 phone messages over a total of two weeks with no return calls. Scheduled a massage and the masseuse cancels with only 2 days notice. My mom is OK rescheduling but specifically asks for a female. They ignore her completely and schedule her with the only male there. When she arrives the key lock entry is broken and she can't get in. Since there is no phone she just has to wait for someone. When she finds out the masseuse is male, instead of apologizing to her, the supervisor says "His hands are bigger so he will do a better job." What?! They have no idea what trauma my mom might have been through with a male. They pressure her (and bring the guy in the room I might add). There is absolutely nothing "therapeutic" about this place. Steer clear of the poor communication, unethical practices, and sheer bad business model of this place. might add)

I ordered a sports tissue massage and I walked out feeling pain free and just amazingly refreshed. She used a blend of numerous oils to just make sure every muscle was attended to and she put so much effort into every part of my body literally from head to toe. The price was consistent with other massages places but I feel it was for a better bargain here because of the various oils they use as well as the quality and how comfortable they make you feel. With that being said a huge 5 stars for my new favorite massage place. Would definitely recommend to anybody who is in need of some much needed comfort whether it's major or minor.
