Initially when I called a over a year ago I was spoken to by the Scheduling Receptionist with a rude and condescending tone. I chose to not make an appointment at that time. A few weeks later I called back and was given an appointment for 9 months out. Feb. 2024 I called to give updated information and was told by the 'scheduling receptionist' - "YOU WANT TO COME HERE, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO COME HERE, THAT'S WEIRD, CAN'T YOU GET HELP FROM OTHER DERMATOLOGISTS IN YOUR AREA?" The person was extremely invasive, condescending and abusive. I called the St. Mary's Location to get help and the Employee Named Paula claimed that she would get me an appointment and send me a SELF-PAY Letter with financial information and she claimed to have been shocked by my experience. 14 days had gone by and I hadn't gotten a letter or a call for an appointment for the St. Mary's Location. I called twice to speak with Paula about it and she said in a very rude tone and acted like I was a burden: "I told MY supervisor about you and she said she would take care of it!" I said: "I hope that my grievance that I shared would not prevent me from becoming an established patient..." THE OFFICE MANAGER NEVER CALLED ME ON HER OWN TO FOLLOW-UP WITH ME UNTIL I CALLED THE SECOND WITH PAULA AND SHARED MY CONCERNS ABOUT NOT BEING A PATIENT. I feel that the GOOGLE REVIEWS ARE BEING 'BOUGHT' because I was not able to POST MY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE PUBLICLY for Dr. Ashley Cavalier - St. Simons, Ga. My review showed up for only me to see. All of these raving reviews about Dr. Cavalier and since my experience of not getting an appointment in a reasonable manner, and not being worked in, and having to wait a year (ANGEL CALLED AND SAID MAY OF 2024) LEFT A VOICEMAIL AFTER I CALLED TWICE) was a total insult and there was absolutely no respect for My Patient Care/Health. I would like for Dr. Cavalier to know how devastating this has been for me due to what A LOT of patients are saying about her in a positive manner and their medical care and experience. That was not mine - as stated by someone else - Dr. Cavaliers' staff needs to be re-trained in ethics, customer service, and sensitivity.

Almost immediately, Dr. Jenn began telling me about all of these tests that I needed. She never: took my blood pressure or temperature, asked me how much I weighed or examined me in anyway. Practice billing could have filed a form as they are the only practice performing the surgery in a few hundred mile radius but they gave a lame excuse as to why they couldn't be bothered. So a couple thousand more out of my pocket on top of an already expensive procedure. That was the icing on the cake as the surgery was only partially successful. Follow-up care was lacking in that I returned several times over the recovery period and literally got no additional help and was just told to come back next month. Never saw the surgeon again only the PA. 9 months later a follow-up MRI listed my condition changed from severe to moderate so with pain meds I'm still barely functioning and still/back in PT a year afterward.
