This was my first manicure since February 2020, so it had been awhile!!! I was quickly greeted upon entering and seated with my lovely nail technician. She did an amazing job shaping my nails and making my hands look amazing. She picked a perfect light pink polish, making my hands look so great that I kept telling my husband that I've got to do better about keeping up with my nails! I instantly regretted not booking a pedicure at the same time as my mani - I'm sure that would be just as delightful an experience. The lymphatic drainage massage was my favorite part. The spa is light on amenities meaning there is not a hot tub or pool. However, it delivers the best waiting room you'll likely experience. Lounge chairs sit atop stones in a pool of water. However, when we arrived they couldn't & wouldn't get the 5 of us in (on a Tuesday)...two had to have theirs 3 days later, on a Friday. And of the 3 of us that had our massages on the Tuesday prior, it was a struggle to get us in at the planned 11am time slot and not one of us at 12:00pm. We spent a good 35min attempting to sort out a way for us to all get a massage in as close together as possible with the front desk receptionist, to no avail. To boot...the 3 of us that did go on a Tuesday, never received a tour of the spa. We had no idea of the Vitamin C showers, eucalyptus steam room, or the sauna. We thought we only had access to the locker area, after our massages, where we quickly had a snack. I'm quite sure this would've been a 5 star experience on another day for someone but unfortunately for us, 2 stars is the most I can give it and the 2nd star is bc of the great job that Tim did, getting the knots out of my neck & shoulders. I called for a same-day massage, and got an early evening appointment (another bonus -- services on St. Simons can shut down as early as 4 pm [#IMeanReally??]) for a 90-minute deep tissue with Megan, who. Is. Awesome. I mean, BEYOND. FYI: I prefer a super-deep tissue massage with very strong hands -- I have a muscular frame and it takes serious pressure to get my knots unwound. At first I was concerned that 90 minutes wouldn't be long enough to GET all of them OUT this go-round, but Megan delivered one of the best massages I have ever had (on three continents). And I had serious issues with tension in my lower back and hip flexors! She recommended a warm bath with Epsom Salt as follow up for my newly-knotless frame, which was a great idea, but I didn't. . . and I still felt awesome the next day!!! Balance isn't a white-robe-and-fluffy-slippers kind of Fifth Avenue Major Spa Moment, but the decor is clean, makes an effort and is perfectly fine.
