The owner appears friendly, but he is extremely annoying and controlling. Constantly making demands and chastising you for not being "relaxed". He takes shortcuts and doesn't do nails the right way. He used a magazine under my nails instead of towels to remove the SNS polish, making a huge mess. He didn't trim my cuticles and left polish around my fingers. The place also has an unpleasant odor and very few color options. SNS usually lasts 3 - 4 weeks for me, but it only lasted a week and a half when I got it here. He has no idea how to do SNS manicures. He skipped too many steps and claimed it "wasn't necessary" - WRONG! read more

Really wanted to give them 5 stars since this is clearly a family run business and they were trying so hard, but I don't think their acetone was strong enough so getting the gel polish off my nails did not go well. They kept trying though and did a decent enough regular manicure for me instead of putting gel back on. If you are just looking for a quick regular manicure or pedicure or a place to go while on vacation, this salon will do the trick! Especially since the other salons in the area have terrible reviews and the only one with better reviews had over an hour wait. But for gel or dip, lower your expectations a bit. The good - Staff puts in a lot of effort - makes them a business you want to support - Good attention to detail - The place is clean and they line the pedicure tubs in plastic - Massage chairs - Gave a shoulder massage while my nails were drying - Easy to walk in and get service The neutral - There were only 2 people working so each worked on multiple customers at once - not a big deal and appreciate the hustle but if you're in a hurry, it does take longer - I couldn't tell if the tools were sterilized before they used them on me - They used magazines to minimize clean up - good for going green! But was a little surprised - Everyone that came in was visiting / new to the salon and I didn't see any regulars in 2 hours of being there - Their kids were playing video games (with headphones on) in the back, not a biggie but the salon was pretty quiet so all you could hear was kid voices coming from the back - if they just close the door or turn up the background noise, you'd barely be able to tell The not so great - If you need to soak off your gel polish, the acetone is not strong enough. I soaked for almost an hour and they still had to use the electric nail drill to get off all the extra gel. This usually takes 15 mins at my home salon. I considered leaving at many moments. - Went to town on my cuticles and clipped more skin than necessary - The polishes are pretty disorganized and there are no swatches of the gel or dip so you have to guess on color based on the bottle and some of the polishes are separating and need a good shake (they did have a cool nail polish mixer if you do pick a shade like this). OPI color selection is more limited but they do have bubble bath! - They don't pick up the phone (I tried multiple times), so you just have to stop in and hope the wait isn't too long - The nail files were previously used - They didn't have any disposable flip flops so I had to walk around barefoot - The girl next to me got dip powder and it looked decent but a little too thick and uneven read more

I am visiting the area and walked into Ruby Nail Salon, and they took me right away. They were able to manage a very busy afternoon with multiple manicures and pedicures with only 2 people working, it was pretty amazing how they managed to do that! Lim did my pedicure, and she did a great job with some calloused areas on my feet, was very thorough with exfoliating and massage, and did a beautiful job with my nails. She checked in often to make sure I was comfortable with things like the water temperature and nail color. Would definitely come back! read more

I went here today based on a word of mouth recommendation and it was wonderful. They are following a lot of Covid precautions - took my temperature at the door, hand sanitizer, face mask required, and barriers between employer and customer. I appreciated it a lot. Sanitary, quality products (CND & OPI. They're more expensive for a smaller bottle but way better quality. You will not feel that burn when sticking your hand under the UV light. They'll clean up better and leave your nails undamaged). I like how they're very gentle w the process of removing the old shellac polish. My fingernails didn't feel all jacked up after the removal was completed 4 stars was for the polishing work. My french tips were not perfectly aligned. This could be because they didn't filed nails down in the same shape. The tips were not balanced and straight but I would definitely come back again for the basic! read more

Two weeks ago I went to a local nail salon, brought 7 of my closest friends and family members and asked to get my nails done for my WEDDING. That place couldn't even be in the same category as Ruby Nail Salon. Tim, the owner, stayed open for me, did my nails himself, was gentle and attentive and made sure to ask me if everything was ok and if I liked what he was doing. I will NEVER go to another nail salon ever again. Ruby Nail Salon has a lifelong customer here. I've never had a better nail experience in my life. I wish I would've known about Tim and his salon 2 weeks ago when I was preparing for the biggest day of my life. Better late than never! I'd look else where for a pedicure. I went on a Sunday, they had two people working when it was really busy. I waited over 25 minutes for them to start my pedicure. Now for the pedicure which was less than 10 min...super rushed and I didn't see them sanitize the utensils before starting on the next person...yuck! This is the worst mani pedi experience I've EVER had. Where to start... Male tech (owner I think) so lazy. Doesn't seem to care at all. Very unfriendly. Never said anything to me. Just sat down and roughly started on my feet. His very young children were in the shop watching tv and I commented on how cute they were and how well they behaved. No response. I asked that he put something on my heels to soften them and he said he didn't have anything. The "massage" lasted 3 minutes at best and involved him slapping around on my legs with zero interest in making it pleasurable. I went in with red toe nails. He left so much of the red polish on my toes that they looked infected afterward...with red all down in the creases around each toe nail (and beyond). I'm nearsighted so didn't notice until I was at drying station. Told female (who seemed to be his wife). She was visibly annoyed. She got supplies to remove the red from around my nails. When she saw how much red came off (the pads she used were all completely pink), she softened a bit and actually spoke to me, saying, "that better?" That was the extent of the niceties. There wasn't anyone else working except the man and his wife. There was one other customer so the male (same as above) did my nails afterward (which meant I was there twice as long as I'm usually at a nail salon). I had to tell him twice to remove all the old (very light colored polish) because I could still see it very clearly on more than half of my nails. Both times he asked, "which ones?" I showed him. The second time, I said "you can't see it? It's still on almost all of them". I turned my hands, thinking maybe he didn't have good light. Or good eyesight. He seemed annoyed and did a lackluster job, barely trying to remove it. I finally asked him to give me the polish remover so I could do it myself. I tried to say it in a casual light way. I didn't want to be rude but thought "I'm paying for this. I want it done right". It obviously made him angry when I said I'd do it, and he wouldn't allow me to. After I pointed to each area that still had old polish, he finally got it all off. He touched one of my wet nails while working and messed up the base. When it became apparent he was just going to pile color on top of the bumpy base, I pointed it out. He said it happened because of the way I was holding my hand. What? No, I noticed a moment earlier when he touched that same nail after he had just polished it. He made no effort to hide his annoyance of having to remove the base and do it over. At the end, I tried to pay with Amex and he said they didn't take it. Fine. That happens from time to time. I gave him a Visa. I saw him fiddling with the credit card machine and with the phone for a VERY long time, turning the machine over, pushing different buttons. He finally announced out loud for all to hear, "you're card declined. I need another one". I said there was no reason for the card to decline and the only other card I had was the Amex." He starred at me. I starred back. At this point, I'd had it with him. He went to try the Visa again, and it approved. He announced that the magnetic strip on my card was the problem. No apology for the the wait, for the inconvenience or because he told the whole shop my card wasn't good when that wasn't the problem. My experience at this nail salon has been horrible. The owner was very rude to me as soon as I walked in the door. I asked them for a gel polish manicure and they told me they needed to take off my old polish. The man then made an "acetone bath" for me and asked me to put my hands in it. I proceeded to put my hands in the acetone bath. After twenty minutes, I told the man that my hands were starting to hurt me very badly. The man then said that if I didn't want to leave them in the bath, I needed to leave his store and find someone else to help me. I was appalled and left.
