Cons: When updating outlets, he missed getting the wire into the proper hole leaving an open circuit, and rather than debugging his work he blamed it on the electrical panel. Several replaced outlets and switches were not completed where tolerances were challenging and/or spacers were needed. He refused to come back and finish the scope of work to which he agreed so I had to buy tools and do it myself. Another electrician who came later pointed out areas where Doug's work was not to code: exposed wire nuts in garage wall without junction box and improper connections to recessed lighting in attic.

After waiting for a while at the counter (and seeing the only employee behind the tinted glass doing nothing to help me) he finally came out and gave me the package after I told him the name on the order. It was the wrong box filled with the wrong items. I went the next day to exchange for the correct box, and I was given our order with barely an apology. It was not what we ordered. My husband called to tell them what had happened and that he would be returning the box AGAIN, and the employee just said "Okay" and hung up on him! So my husband returned everything the next day and while the employee he dealt with this time was nice, he tried to give him a refund minus the tax we paid because of the a fault in their system. My husband demanded every penny back and it was finally given to him. The icing on the cake is that he went online and ordered the CORRECT items, got twice as many for way less than what Consolidated Electrical charged us. It is a complete mystery to me as to how this business is still operating.

His…read moreelectricians were friendly, but they made some timely/costly mistakes which Thomas then blamed us for given we were home at the time and should have better supervised them, but he wasn't even there himself to supervise the job. As a paying customer, we shouldn't have to supervise their staff and then pay extra for their mistakes. We even had to supply them with additional parts to fix the issue! Thomas insists that the additional cost he charged us was partly due to shopping for parts, but gathering the tools and supplies for a project is obviously a prerequisite for any paid electrician. He even threatened to pull his electricians from the job if we didn't agree to pay the additional fee. I am appalled with the way he spoke to my father and I am definitely not satisfied with the added cost and stress that was a direct result of their service. Picture attached is the end result of the work, exposed wire, holes, overall, just a mess. Thomas can make all the excuses he wants, but he's not worth the risk for work done to your home.
