From the very beginning, Anthony was flexible with scheduling, professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about his work. I was having problems with several light fixtures due to ballast issues, and Anthony helped convert the lighting in both my front patio and kitchen to LED ballast-bypass. He did an excellent job, and everything came out great. What I appreciated even more was that Anthony didn't just come in, do the job, and leave. He took the time to explain what he was doing and even taught me what type of replacement bulbs I would need in the future. Since the particular ballast-bypass bulbs can be difficult to find locally, he was even kind enough to lend me some spare bulbs until I could purchase the correct ones. Laura did not disappoint. We now have a gorgeous kitchen that functions better and that we are proud to show off to friends and family. Every element goes together beautifully; the granite counters are gorgeous, the modern sink and faucet are a joy to use, the painted cabinets look like new and we wonder why we didn't utilize hardware on the cabinets long ago. The backsplash is beautiful and sparkly. The old-fashioned florescent ceiling is replaced by modern can lights. Creative battery operated under-cabinet lighting is budget friendly. The artistic pendant light matches well with the hardware and new appliances. All the craftsman Laura contracted with did a great job and the one issue we had related to the granite was resolved to our satisfaction. She was there to oversee the work during all stages. We even trusted her to run everything while we took a 2 week vacation. That actually is a great way to do it. Pre-plan everything with Laura and go on an extended vacation. Ask Laura about how that could work. It may work out perfectly and your remodel is complete when you return. Even if it takes longer, at least it's less time you've had to live through a remodel. It did not take long to see that Laura really listened to what I wanted so she could design a house I would love. Initially, I had trouble releasing control but that never bothered Laura. She worked with me and made sure I was comfortable through the whole project. Looking back, I wished I had taken advantages of all of her amazing ideas and suggestions instead of holding back due to my own fears. Since working with her on that house, Laura has worked on 3 other homes for me and I cannot imagine designing or decorating another house without her in my corner. She is one of the best in the industry. Bottom line: I wouldn't recommend Doug unless low cost is top priority…read more Pros: He is less expensive than most; recessed lighting and undercabinet lighting looks great. Cons: When updating outlets, he missed getting the wire into the proper hole leaving an open circuit, and rather than debugging his work he blamed it on the electrical panel. Several replaced outlets and switches were not completed where tolerances were challenging and/or spacers were needed. He refused to come back and finish the scope of work to which he agreed so I had to buy tools and do it myself. Another electrician who came later pointed out areas where Doug's work was not to code: exposed wire nuts in garage wall without junction box and improper connections to recessed lighting in attic.
