I saw The Source booth at the Temescal Street Fair. Didnt think much about it, but BOY was I wrong! Dr.Jordan is who I see (somewhat irregularly) but he's amazing! After 3 sessions, i was able to start sleeping better, my posture got better, generally, I felt better. You won't go wrong if you see these fine people. read more

Started going there when I had back problems and enrolled in a plan, which they sold me upfront. Two months in, the holidays came around and due to my schedule constantly changing I wasn't able to really book after thanksgiving. Once I was available in January, til this day, I haven't heard back from them, no checkup no anything. It was ok while I was going but I felt that they only cared for me as long as they received the monthly fee... Jordan is an awesome chiropractor! read more

I literally came crawling into this place. I was experiencing pain on the left side due to a fall. I couldn't walk or even get up from the bed. I went to the hospital and they handed me a prescription Pain Killers and sent me on my way. I needed to get healed and did not want to take the pain medicine. As a Realtor, I need to walk around and show property. It was simply impossible to do my job! I went on the Next Door app and asked my neighbors for help! I had many great suggestions - however - being referred to The Source Chiropractic was the best suggestion of them all. When I crawled into this place all drugged up (literally) - I felt a great vibe/energy coming into this place. I was given a few tests, did xrays and a back scan! They we're able to identify the problem. Immediately sign up for treatment. Dr Austin did my exam and Dr Jordan did my adjustments. Both are great people and the staff is AMAZING! The 1st adjustment - allowed me to sleep at night with no pain, The 2nd adjustment - allowed me to get off the drugs. By my 3rd adjustment - I was walking. I did come in 3xs for the 1st month. I came in the Last Week of January and I am now back at the gym and walking without any pain. NO PAIN! The ladies and gentlemen at The Source are the TRUTH. If you're looking to get healed - they will seal the deal! Tell'em Mr. Bardales sent you! read more

Nice atmosphere, knowledgeable staff. They took their time to explain the procedures and introduce me to their space!

I just started a care plan here, literally last week, and I'm hooked. First of all, I love the atmosphere that The Source has created. It is eclectic, communal, and informal...so you don't feel like you're going to a doctor's visit. Rather, you feel like you're going to see friends...who happen to want to aid you in healing. I'm a yoga teacher and a health educator, so when Dr. Brett and Dr. Jordan were talking to me, they spoke to me like I was on their level...they didn't talk down to me. A lot of times, when I go to ANY doctor, I feel like they think they know more than me, or they speak to me condescendingly. That is NOT the case at The Source. Like I said, Dr. Brett and Dr. Jordan really spoke to me in a way that made me feel truly involved in my care plan. I could ask questions and talk about the issues I was experiencing and receive meaningful feedback that wasn't convoluted in meaningless jargon. The clinic itself is so dedicated to the neighborhood and Oakland, in general, which is so important to retain the culture and the spirit of the Town. I loved the art on the walls. I don't have kids, but this place is so kid friendly that if I had them, I think they'd be more excited about me getting adjusted than I would be. There's a fort in the front area, and I believe they adjust children, as well! Truly, there's a lot more I could say about this place, and I just started. I'm excited to be entrusting Dr. Brett with my misalignment, tension, chronic fatigue, and other needs. I'm stoked about healing here! read more

This place is my safe haven, this place allows me to reconnect with my mind, body, and soul. From the moment you walk through the door, tranquility will immediately arise within you. Each and every adjustment I have received has been different and beneficial in more ways than I could ever articulate. I wanted to thank every Chiro who has put in the work to be able to serve me in the different ways that were needed in that moment. Ive been going to chiropractors for years, this is the first place I feel seen and heard. They focus on connection over correction and through this philosophy my body is at its peak. I feel that every time I get adjusted my mind, body, and soul are aligned. A true balancing of chakras. Thanks Docs, you have changed my life in more ways than one. Keep the energy strong! read more

I love the source! I've been coming consistently now for almost 2 years, and I can't imagine going a week without this place. All the doctors are great each bringing their own special talents and skills with each adjustment. Every time I come with pain, I leave feeling so much better. Dr. Jordan is my primary chiropractor, however when he's not available, I see Dr. Malcolm. Both are AMAZING. I don't even know where to begin with both of them and how much they've helped me over the years. 1000/10 recommend the source to everyone! read more

I cannot rave about The Source enough, it's truly been instrumental in getting me back to high peak performance. My overall well being and comfortability has improved tremendously and it's such a relief to be without the throbbing lower back pain. I sought out the help of Dr. Austin, whom I met through my personal trainer. As I knew he also had years of experience in fitness training, most notably CrossFit, I wanted get adjusted by someone who could relate to my specific areas of weakness. I had been experiencing limited mobility and lower back pain, specifically firing up when doing deadlifts and/or overhead bar movements. The pain had reached a point where I could not deadlift at all and was becoming scared to lift anything, as it set off what felt like a bolt shooting from my tricep into my shoulder blade. After our first consultation and scan, Dr. Austin found the exact location/source of the pain and was able to target how best to approach treatment. I had been living with a misaligned hip on my left side and irritation in my trap (on the right side) unknowingly for far too long. Every time I completed an overhead barbell or weighted movement, my lat was getting pulled, which triggered the discomfort through my arm. My lower back pain was explained with my hip misalignment, especially when in positions placing high stress on the area, such as deadlifts. Dr. Austin listed out a treatment plan, whereupon I first came in 3 days a week to aggressively target the issues. While it sounds like a lot, I can honestly say I noticed a difference right away. I am now going 1-2 days a week and just had a third assessment, which proved great progress. I am lifting without pain, recently PR'd my deadlift and my mobility has improved tremendously. Dr. Austin has not only been a wonderful Chiropractor but a good friend; he takes the time to listen to his clients and truly cares. The Source has also been an extremely welcoming and "safe place" so to speak. I look forward to coming as everyone, from the clients to staff, is always extraordinarily warm and inviting. read more

I started coming to The Source to see Dr. Jordan in December of 2017. I am a competitive distance runner who has had low back pain and upper neck pain for years. I have seen numerous chiropractors over the past 5-6 years but never consistently to really see results. That all changed when I came to The Source to see Dr. Jordan. He set me up with a 6 month plan that kept me loyal from the go, which is the way to do it if you really want to reap the benefits from chiropractic care. It's now May 2018 and I completed the 6 month plan and the results in my overall health have been drastic since seeing him. This is the first time in my competitive distance running career where I have gotten through 9 months of training uninterrupted by injury, etc. seeing Jordan regularly is a big part of me staying healthy. Aside from Jordan being great, The Source is just a great place overall. From the receptionists, the other doctors to the ambiance of the place. You don't feel like you're in a Doctors office at The Source but instead a very tranquil adobe. There have been a few times I've had to call last minute to reschedule and they are always understanding and accommodating. I am so thankful I found The Source. read more

The Source Chiropractic saved me from worst injury in my tennis career. When I first entered The Source 1,5 years ago with an L5 S1 back injury, I couldn't feel my legs and barely could walk, not even talking about going to practice. It took a few months to recover physically as well as mentally. I first worked with Dr. Lance for about 7 months. My body felt much better and I could get back on the court after stopping for a year. However, I took a break for 6 months and I am back to The Source with Dr. Jordan since October. I visit him once a week and planning to work with him for the next 4 months. Dr. Jordan doesn't rush with his patients and takes his time to align you and checks again afterwards to make sure you are balanced before you leave. I always leave feeling better. Thank you, Dr. Jordan for cracking my neck and making me "wake up" before my final exams The professionalism of the chiropractors who work there amazes me. They all have an extensive knowledge of the body and they really know what there are doing and how to help out to someone who went through bad injuries. I would totally recommend going there! read more

Hi- I've been seeing Dr. Jordan for almost a year now. I always feel better in my body after an adjustment. Sometimes I just stand a little taller, my shoulders are more eager to go back, and when I do push-ups later in the day or the next day, they are so much easier with everything all lined up. But sometimes I've had really incredible experiences that I have to attribute to his work. Once I got this feeling of immense peace for at least a day afterwards, and feeling complete peace made me realize how most of the time I'm just not that blissed out- I guess I'm human. But it was really nice to experience that and know that in the midst of Covid and everything else 2020 brought, inner peace was possible. I was inspired to write today because I've been pretty down lately, tried an antidepressant that made me much much like-scary worse so I weaned back off it but was still not well. I saw Dr J yesterday and he gave be a breathing exercise and said it might help. I did it there and then got up this morning at 5:30, laid on the floor and spent some more time doing it. And today I feel really good, for the first time in a couple months. Like myself again. Yea! I'll keep doing it. Everyone who works the front desk there is really pleasant and I've worked with Dr. Malcom too, who is also really great. They play good music and it's a pleasure to be there. Go! read more

I have had a great experience here. I did an intake with Dr. Mandy and have been seeing Dr. Brett (who was recommended by my previous SF chiropractor). I tried 5 chiros in the east bay before finding Dr. Brett. He's great -- is really able to adjust my back and identify what's going on. I'm getting a lot of pain relief. The Source is also a really comfortable and welcoming space. I really appreciate the emails that I get with how-to video suggestions of exercises. Overall, I could not be more pleased. All of that said, you have to be very prepared for a sales pitch on your 2nd visit. I've referred 2 friends and they were both so turned off by the sales pitch that they never went back. We think of a chiro as a doctor, and we're not used to discussing money or payment plans, so I think it's a bit of a shock to people. (Also, they're offering you options before you've even been adjusted once.) Personally, I handled this by saying I needed to have a few sessions before I decided on a payment plan. And then I was convinced and went with the monthly payment plan. For me, totally worth a weird sales pitch for an amazing chiro experience thereafter. read more

There are many reasons why The Source is 5 stars on here. I'm not one to really write reviews, i usually just read them but The Source deserves all the referrals and good vibes out there I've only had my exam and adjustments done with Dr. Darren but I'm sure all the doctors there are amazing. Dr. Darren is so knowledgeable, gentle, and literally fixed my back after my first adjustment. I've had lower back pain on and off for 10 years and has recently been worse after my pregnancy. After my first adjustment to my sacrum/lumbar, I can walk and sleep without pain!! I have never felt better, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. The space always has a cool vibe with good music and the ladies up front are so sweet and play with my daughter while I'm being adjusted. If you're thinking about coming here for care, I highly recommend! They will take care of you! read more

Not knowing anything about chiropractic care or approach, I was unsure of what to expect. But, with The Source being next to the gym I work at and at Dr. Austin's suggestion, I decided to give it a whirl. Can't hurt to have an expert check your body out when you depend on your body for work as a personal trainer. Dr. Austin is my main doctor and he himself is great. He's knowledgeable lifting and exercising, and that's why I was happy to have him assess me. It's important to me that the person who I trust with my body also know how to treat their body. Over the past few sessions, Dr. Austin helped me figure out some better ways to exercise and found problem spots I had been neglecting. Also, he can always tell when I've done something different in my workout routine through a quick assessment and adjusts his care accordingly. This is always kinda impressive to me, because most people won't notice a change in my gait or posture like he does. The main motivating factor for writing this review is that one day I did a really bad deadlift I hadn't performed before, and boy did that hurt my hip. I could barely walk for two days! The day of my usual appointment had to be changed because I was leaving town for the holiday, so Dr. Darren helped me out. He listened to my deadlift story and quickly assessed me. His adjustment saved me so much pain. I limped into the office, but I left feeling like I could skip down the street. Thanks, Dr. Darren! I also can't forget to plug the front of house staff. I often come with my dog and they treat him like royalty while I get care. You can always tell how nice a person is by how they treat an animal :) read more

I started seeing Dr. Jordan over a year ago for a lower leg muscle tear. He had helped me rehab and and helped adjust me so my hips were inline and my stride was not compromised. I was able to get through two tough Army Schools with his help and his devotion to get me healthy and running again. Just recently the pain came back after a year and now that I am home and able to see him more frequently he has done it once again. I am able to run with zero pain and he was able to find three different spots on my body that have been causing this issue for years. I feel great now and once again grateful for the help of Dr. Jordan. read more

Dr. Darren stands out as possibly the best doctor I have ever had. His dedication to meeting patients where they are and facilitating the body's natural healing capacity is unparalleled. His meticulous understanding of the body makes it so he can uniquely connect with his patients, guiding/freeing them along their healing journey. His passion/capacity for treating symptoms is only equaled by his concern for individuals and their wellness. I'd recommend (and have recommended) him to anyone, friends, family, and strangers alike. It was a blessing to fall into his care, I hope others are allowed te same opportunity. read more

I came to Source because of a neck injury- the first time I'd ever come to a chiropractor and I was a bit nervous. The whole team is incredibly warm and welcoming and Dr Jordan is excellent. I feel better than I have in ages and totally attribute it to the care I received at Source. I couldn't be happier or recommend it more highly! read more

I will start by being transparent in saying that I was someone who was always skeptical of the chiropractic field. That being said, The Source 100% proved my doubts to be wrong. I am a chronic self cracker of my fingers, toes, neck, and back. So I have always figured that if I can do it myself, how can someone else be of assistance. Within my very first consultation, it was explained to me that what one can crack on their own, are the areas around the stiffened source of pain that are the actual problem. What a chiropractor can do, is get into those spots that have stiffened up. And boy, did they do just that! I was on a 6 month plan, but unfortunately had to stop after only 4 months because I was moving. Although by the end of those 4 months, my stiff neck was gone. The pinched nerve in my back (the original reason for coming in) had gone away. And my overall back aches subsided substantially. Aside from the technical benefits, my mood-boosting experience at The Source could greatly be attributed to their team. From the front desk, to the actual doctors, every single member of their team makes you feel comfortable and welcome from the moment you walk through the door. Not only do they want to help you heal effectively, but they want to do so by having positive and caring connections with their clients. read more

The Source Chiropractic family is amazing! Dr. Lauren realigned me back to Health with her magnificent technique. I would highly recommend anyone that is in pain to come and visit this company first. I went to several chiropractors before I ended up at The Source and none of the other chiropractors could compare. One of them thought they could massage my pain away and the other thought that they could connect electricity to the problem, what a waste of money. I came in on this past Friday for acute pain but to my dismay Dr. Lauren had a day, so without an appointment I was able to see Dr. Dyllon. I must say that all the doctors at the source chiropractic are awesome I walked in , in pain on Friday and was able to walk out without pain. Thank you all for your professionalism and healing hands!!! read more

I have been going to Source Chiropractic for the last year. I have enjoyed an incredible improvement in my physical condition. The first thing you notice when you walk in the door is how caring everybody is. My doctor is Dr. Mandy Chan, but on occasion, I've had the other doctors care for me too. These people are all caring, professional and knowledgeable. They give back to disadvantaged youth, are active with teaching and reach out to the community with workshops like Holotropic Breathwork. Dr. Brett Jones, the owner of Source Chiropractic, also conducts "Being Your Brand" workshops geared toward helping people discover a deeper love and fulfillment of the work they do. They can zero in on the things that are not adjusted well. Things I couldn't even begin to fathom that had anything to do with my various aches and pains. I've lost about 20 pounds since I've been seeing Dr. Mandy and in that time my body has changed dramatically. Through these changes she has explained to me why this thing hurts while a different part of my body is trying to compensate and then make the chiropractic adjustments to allow me a greater physical comfort. I truly believe that without the support and care I've received at Source Chiropractic I would not be in the better physical condition I enjoy now compared to how I was when I first began chiropractic treatments. I am interested in energy work and these and other modalities are used in conjunction with regular chiropractic care. My doctors at Kaiser tend to concentrate on minutia. At Source Chiropractic the staff concentrates on the entire person; physical, emotional and spiritual. I am very happy with my care at Source Chiropractic. Pauline Evanosky June, 2018 read more

Let me start by saying i don't trust Surgeons( well most surgeons), they make a living by preforming surgery, so of course that's going to be their first recommendation. I was researching procedures and surgeons for quite a few injuries I had sustained over my lifetime. The pain had become more than I could handle even on a daily regimen of opiates. In my research I came across The Source Chiropractic. I made a call and spoke with Dr Jordan Fairley, explained my injuries and listened to what he had to say. I then made the appointment for a examination. I cam tell you it was the single most important call of my life. I had been on painkillers for over 25 yrs and woke up with lower back, neck, and knee Paine every day. Through the specialized treatment and exercises given to me by Dr Jordan and the rest of the team at The Source Chiropractic I can say that I am painkiller free and for the most part completely pain free for the first time in 25 yrs. I honestly never thought this was a possibility. I had been told by more than one " SPECIALIST " that my only option for "SOME" relief, not all, but some would be surgeries. I have spent the last two years on my journey to a Big Pharma free life. Though diet, exercise and the phenomenal treatment at The Source Chiropractic I have a new lease on life and have able to avoid painfully and costly surgeries . It is a journey and takes commitment but with the desire to have a better life and the help available at The Source Chiropractic a new life is possible. Thank you Dr Jordan and the whole team at Source Chiropractic. read more

All I can say is 'WOW'! Okay, I can say more than just that but really, if you go here, you'll be saying 'WOW!', too! Where do I start? Back in October 2011, I was training for my Ironman TRI and injured the outside of my left my foot. Even though I was able to complete it and do other TRIs my foot was in constant pain. I went to my Western doctor who took an x-ray because they thought there was stress fracture. Nothing showed up on the x-ray. I went to my long-time chiropractor who has cured many ills in my body but the type of adjustment they did, didn't seem to work this time. I also got acupuncture, which has always helped various parts of me but this time, it also didn't help. I went to a podiatrist who claimed it was tendonitis in my Peroneal tendon and put me in a walking boot (which caused more back pain than it was worth) and tried inserts and insoles and any other 'in' thing at the moment. I even went six weeks without any activity to try to let it heal but it never did. I resigned myself to the pain. Over the course of the next few years, I participated in various events but was always left hobbling for days after. And, then I started to develop a new pain in the joint of my left big toe where it connects to my foot and in the first joint in the big toe. It hurt to bend my toe or walk without shoes on. So, back to the podiatrist I went who told me it was a bunion and that I'd eventually need surgery. NO thank you! Thankfully, a few months later, the Leadership Oakland program I direct started and I met Dr. J. He kept encouraging me to come in and get adjusted. I'd been to my chiropractor already and was skeptical that Dr. J. could do anything else for me but I opened my mind and went. And, it has been life-changing! The pain on the outside of my foot and in my big toe and joing is GONE! Gone, I tell you! I went for my first run in months and with each step I took, I kept thinking, okay, the pain will come with the next step... okay, the next one... maybe the next one... and four miles later, there was no pain. And even better - the next morning, I was NOT hobbling, I was walking with NO shoes and there was NO pain!!! I didn't know the foot could be 'adjusted' like my back or neck but it can and what a difference it has made in my life. Living with chronic pain is not fun; it starts to affect every part of your life including your general mood and outlook on life. Dr. J and his staff are professional, courteous, warm, supportive, loving AND effective. What more could you ask for from a health care professional! While I came in for a cure for the pain I was experiencing (and received it!), chiropractic care takes care of your whole system, which is why I've continued on their maintenance plan. I encourage you all to visit Dr. J. at The Source Chiropractice -- you won't be disappointed! read more

I was a regular patient of Alive Chiropractic (Dr. Wilhelm -- in the same location) when Dr's Brett and Melissa took over the business. At first I was resistant to the change but I knew that Dr. Wilhelm took very seriously who she handed her business over to when she moved away; she chose the best. Dr. Brett's style has both elan and subtlety. If one adjustment doesn't work for my body he has another at hand to address the problem in a different way. His energy and enthusiasm fuel creative problem solving. HIs adjustments are skilled and produce lasting change. Each time I see him I know that we are working our way through a process that is ever evolving and progressing as my body and it's needs evolve and progress And unlike many of the chiropractors I have seen in the past these two just do chiropractic and never sell supplements or pressure their patients into any diet\regiment\cleanse\one-true-way-to-health.... Judging by the amount of 5 Star ratings for The Source and Dr. Brett, I probably don't need to say much, but because I am The Say It Girl, I will anyway ;).... We are brand new in the Oakland area, and have just left an amazing community of beautiful people we adore in So CAL. On top of the emotional loss I was feeling, I have a list of "stuff" that's been adding up since my recent cancer fight (and victory, thank God)...not to mention a pain in my shoulder blade and neck that was so intense I could barely move my head on some days. Here's how we found Dr. Brett to be - 1. interested 2. able to listen 3. empathetic 4. honest 5. flexible 6. confident without being cocky 7. kind 8. in love with his work 9. great with kiddos 10. musical (yes, go for the adjustment, stay for the tunes) I was in so much pain at first, that I had to ask him to be gentle with me, something I did not like doing, because I'm tough...but I'd been though so much, that my whole body was resisting. So, you know what he did? He listened. And you know what? I'm better. A Lot better. I'm on a long term plan with Dr. Brett, something I resisted at first, but the consistency is helping me, and I'm grateful for it, because I can feel my body improving. On top of this, he's helping us with our son's asthma, which I have high hopes for...Dr. Brett's willingness to try to help us with this awful problem is alone wonderful. The drugs we've been described are AWFUL for our son. So, thanks to Dr. Brett's skill and kindness, we have hope. Something we really need right now when it comes to our baby's health. I could go on....but I think my story's pretty clear. If you're lucky enough to get in to The Source, *do it*. This place, and the man who started it, ROCK. read more

Dr. Brett is wildly dedicated to the art and science of chiropractic and it shows in his assessment of the body and his adjustments. He's a chiropractor that truly takes a deep look into your bodily system and figures out exactly what it needs at that point in time and no more. His adjustments happen with ease and are always very powerful, not with force but with the effect it has on opening up and relaxing my entire system. If needed, he will incorporate some cranial work as well which is like the icing on the cake. Thank you Brett for always making it easier for me to connect back to myself and in turn connect outward with my environment. You rock!!!:) In other news, the space is pretty sweet. Well organized, smoothly run, super friendly staff and a cool board that details anything going on at The Source or even in the surrounding community. Greatness all around. read more

Wow. This is a way long overdue review! (But also great because my experiences with Dr. Brett and the team only keep getting better and better!) I started seeing Dr. J before The Source moved over to MacArthur. From day 1 he brought an amazing level of skill, knowledge, intuition, and professionalism... which I really value and appreciate! He gives his full attention and listens to what's going on in the body. Because I've been seeing him for so long, I pretty much don't even have to say what's happening, he just knows where to go to put me back into alignment. I always walk out of there feeling so much lighter! My work requires me to be in good shape (otherwise, it's not great for me or my clients), and Dr. J is truly a part of making this possible. Going to see him is about maintenance - not coming in when I only have emergencies. What an amazing gift to the community. Don't sleep on it... get in there to see him now. read more

I'm a high volume crossfit athlete and I put my nervous system through some serious training. After a heavy clean and jerk workout I had excruciating pain in-between my shoulder blades. It hurt every time I moved my neck, lifted my arms, and at some moments it was brutal just to breathe. I contacted Dr. Fairley to see if it was possible to move my appointment up and he was able to accommodate me. Dr. Fairley pointed out several static flaws in my posture and made several adjustments. He was able to set a rib that was out of place and it felt like I could finally breathe again. It's 10 days later and after going in for my appointment this week I have made a full recovery.
