The Soup Shop was very clean with art on the walls. The menu is pretty varied and the offer more than just soup. You can bike your own salad or have a little sammie to go with your soup. My favorite part is you can do flights. I ordered three soup and two slider flight. Soups: tomato basil and lobster bisque. Both were good alone but they mixed well too. The bisque was one of the better ones I've had. I could actually taste the basil in the tomato basil. Sliders: chicken salad and pimento cheese. Both were good, but alone without soup they're just ok. The best part of the sliders is they come on Hawaiian rolls. I would definitely go again since I love soup. read more

**INITIAL REVIEW** I like to consider myself, at times, a connoisieur of soups. I love them all, and I don't even mean just the ones most people know of, but ones that are often passed over simply because they are not known. Good example: the savory cold soups that are meant to be cold, not just a hot soup you serve cold because you're lazy to wait a minute for it to warm up in a microwave. I will even go as far as to say that I love chili with beans... and without. Doesn't matter. It is a chucky soup. I like creamy soup. I like chunky soup. I like chunky and creamy soup. I like soup... and kudos to anyone who got the classic Eddie Murphy stand-up comedy joke right there. Anyways, The Soup Shop in, what I will call the part of Melbourne between Suntree and Melbourne Major (where Historic Downtown Melbourne) is located, right near the Eastern Florida State College Melbourne campus, is the original location (that I know of). I have been a couple of times, and every single time, it has been great. As a matter of fact, the Soup Shop answers that question I've asked which is, "What if there was a restauant that served an array of soups I can choose from?" Questioned answered and with flying colors, too. Pertaining to its ambiance, the Soup Shop doesn't exactly stand out compared to some of the decor these new restaurants seem to push as part of their experience. Instead, their decor is simplistic, but they so happen to really promote and push one particular artist as her paintings are all over the walls of the restaurant. As for the soup, I decided to get the flight, which is a sample (flight) size of three soups of your choice. Certain soups do have a specialty upcharge, specifically the bisques, and some can't be made in such because of how they are prepared, specifically the ramen. Despite that, there are a wide array of soup choices to choose from. You now, chunky soup, creamy soup, chunky and creamy soup. And to be serious for a moment, they also have soups that cater to special dietary needs. I saw a whole cooler full of ready-to-warm-up soups for bariatrics. As for the prices, they are not bad all. I think the soup flight was about $12, which is not bad at all for three soups a little bigger than a cup but smaller than a bowl. They also serve other food items such as sandwiches and desserts. My suggestion: the grilled cheese. Definitely pair it with the tomato soup. Ultimately, I am going to give the OG Soup Shop four out of five stars. They were outstanding the two times I went, but I need to try more of their food to see if they are consistent... because most people know that my fifth star is awarded after reviews (unless I've been to a business more than let's say five times) and they are consistent. Stopped in on the coldest day of the year. The interior was bright and clean. The girl who took my order offered no help even after I told her first time there. Had to ask how I would know my food was ready (stood at the front of store only to have them announce my order at the other end of the counter) she could have said "pick up down there" and had I difficulty confirming with her my order was to go. Just not what expected from a newer business. First time so had to digest the menu. Knew I wanted a soup and tomato basil is one of my favorites. Order a large and it is definitely tomato-y not very much basil that I could taste. $9 for the "large" but not really sure it is worth it. Same size at Fresh Market is a bit less if I remember correctly. Ordered the "whole" brisket sandwich. It is very smokey tasting and the roll was good. Almost too much smoke and not enough brisket (I picture sliced meat when one says brisket) but this was chopped up and really just a BBQ sandwich. $18.50 was a bit pricy for what we got. See the picture. Consensus is would probably be better there and the sandwich is not a do over. I live in st Augustine now, but still go to Melbourne for work, I stop by the soup shop for their frozen soups to bring home. I had their chicken dumpling this week. It looks crazy when it was heating up but once it was hot it looked great and tasted delicious. Service has always been good for me. The restaurant is clean, no complaints! read more

Cute little place with some artisanal gifts for sale. The service was fast if not friendly. The soup in a bread bowl and buffalo chicken sandwich were both very good but $43 for lunch was a little steep for what you get. The soup was really good and it was a quaint little place. I like that they have a refrigerator/freezer so you can buy and bring soup home with you. This was our first time there and didn't know how it works. The person taking orders at the counter seemed annoyed with that, but once I told her I didn't know how this place worked she calmed down a little and explained. My mistake was I have a limited diet so I looked online to see if there was anything I could eat before we went. The girl explained that they have all kinds of soup that they make daily - the menu online may not be what they have when you walk in. There was something available that I could eat, but now I know for the future to call ahead. You order all of your food at the counter and they have seating in the back and will bring it out to you. I purchased a chicken pot pie bowl. It was so bland and the bread was awful as well. My daughter ordered soup to go and a sandwich. They forgot the soup in the bag and the lettuce on the sandwich tasted like bleach and the chicken salad was inedible and tasteless. I'm so sorry to report that tonight I ordered the Northern Bean & Ham soup - disgusting! No flavor, watered down, and not even salt made it edible. I could not eat it, in the trash it went. I spent close to $20 on this and my favorite soup Chicken Enchilada  - sorely disappointed! Hardly no chicken, no flavor, watered down, and since I had nothing else to eat, I mustered it down. Believe me when I tell you, those batches of soups were awful! I l know because I have been eating at The Soup Shop since 2012. I know the flavors herbs and creams, and the chef mastered the necessary seasonings for each soup. Please don't change now. Don't allow others to cook without being properly trained. A great place for great food This restaurant and shop is located in a shopping center on the northwest corner of the Post and N Wickham road intersection. The shopping center has a Publix and a Panera and so traffic can be challenging and parking may be a little limited. The store occupies two business spaces and has a sandwich shop, an order-out portion, and dine-in options. They have soups, salads, and pies but they are well known in this area for their soups. On this latest visit, we ordered soup to go. They have a section to order sandwiches on the far left. The center is a counter to order and pay for the soups, pies and carry out food. There is a dining area with about 10 tables to the far right as you enter. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. There are options for the gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian crowd. We ordered chili and chicken enchilada and chicken noodle soups. They were excellent after heating them up. I would highly recommend this place for my fellow travelers in the area and I plan to try their sandwich shop and eat-in area next time I visit. Enjoy! read more

I am so disappointed in this place. I am a soup lover.. I was so very excited to see this place existed. Since I don't eat most meat, I knew my options would be limited, but I was excited for my options nonetheless (split pea, vegetable, wild mushroom, veggie chili). Well, I looked at their many posted menus and chose 3 of my favorite soups I saw. When I went into the store, of course the only veg soups they offered were Tomato Basil and Lentil.. I got the lentil and I just can't believe how blatant minimal effort was put into make it. I mean, they really must have thrown some water and lentils in a pot and said "done!". Mind boggling! No carrots, no tiny chunks of veggies, no flavor.... Now, For $9+ for a bland cup of soup, you can at least include what is listed in the ingredients! It may be beneficial to go over your website details and modify what's available, and what's in it! If you have a revolving menu, then it's time to figure out a way to keep your customers in the loop. So when I left NYC one if the things I miss is the great soup shops that can be found there. My absolute favorite was Hale & Hearty's Corn Chowder. Just the other day while at Publix I noticed a new business had opened. It was a soup shop!!!! A few days later I stopped in. The place is a big kitchen with a huge variety of soups available for take away either refrigerated or frozen. I saw that corn chowder was available and bought a pint. I asked for warm soup, the server pointed to the refrigerator and told me to get it from there and walked away. She couldn't even point me to the right section - and I was the only customer! I told her I wanted warm soup and she said they are now allowed to give me warm soup, even though I bought three containers of warm soup last Saturday, and was given with bread for each. Was visiting Eastern FL State College and begin looking in the area for some place to eat, and came across this place on yelp. I wanted to try something different. I never been to a place that just sold soup, so id thought to give it a try. Many of you who follow me know, that I don't give many 5 stars. Man O man was this the best choice I could've made. Its a small place in the Publix plaza, but when it comes to food no place is hard to find. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the chef, and she explained to me the different options, and there was many to choose from. Great variety, and all the soups are made with fresh ingredients. The best thing is that they allow you to sample the soups. I could literally get full off of just sampling. I sampled 4 soups: Chicken noodle, broccoli & cheese, Sausage & Kale, and the Italian Soup. They all were remarkable. The flavor, freshness, meat and vegetable combinations really blew me away. This is my favorite go to spot. They have both outside and inside eating areas. The pricing ranges from $6-12 depending on the size bowl of soup you get and combos. I will be back very soon. I even ordered 2 extra bowls to go. They also allow you to buy take home bowls/containers that can feed a family. I absolutely love this place. read more

This rating is only about the service I recived today! I was in the shop at about 11:00 and ordered a pot pie and a glass of tea for eat in. I got my pie tossed a bag and a glass for my tea. I reminded him that was for eat in and asked for a plate & cutlery. At this point the server/teller became confused and managed to get three orders mixed up. Still I don't have a plate or cutlery and I only have an hour for lunch. I was told to check my bag because he always puts cutlery in the to go bags! I walked out went back to work, put the pie in the fridg and will have it for dinner at least I will have a fork at home. They have fresh(hot) soups or refrigerated or frozen soups. Not everything it available in hot but everything is available is one of the forms. We ordered Chicken Dumpling, Minestrone and Creamy Chicken and Rice. The chicken and dumpling had very little dumpling but huge chunks of chicken. Minestrone was pretty proportional. The chicken and rice had amazing flavor but very little rice with huge chicken chunks. Overall, good flavors but very pricey. 3 small soups came to $20. I went for the first time last month and outed the 3 sliders. I think it was called southern sisters or something like that. 3 different salad spread like fillings in Hawaiian buns. To best soup shop ever! Everything Melbourne needed is here. This place has a wide variety of soups- all homemade. It is perfect for that cold, rainy day - or just when you are craving some soup.
