Horrible experience!!…read more Tickets were purchased on 6/18/25 for the Songo River Queen river cruise on 8/31/25. Four senior citizens drove 1.5 hours to Naples, ME and arrived at 12:25pm for the 1:00pm cruise. Due to ambulation issues one of our party signed us in and the remaining three sat on a nearby bench. He was not informed that we could board nor was the boat indicated; it was very small and not within sight. At 1:30pm we asked about the cruise and were told that it had left at 1:00pm. When the boat returned we lodged a complaint with both the captain and the crew member who had signed us in. The latter said that we had been told that we could board, which was not true. He also said that no one was sitting ion the bench when he left. This was also untrue as we never moved from the bench and he looked right at us. The captain assured us that the owner would respond to our calls and most likely refund our money. Five messages were left for the owner, a complaint was made via Facebook messenger on the company site, the Sebago Lakes Chamber of Commerce was notified, and the Better Business bureau was contacted. There has been no response to date to myself or the BBB. A refund is due!

They must be from Mars. Plenty of seating, stop whining. Boat itself was ok, never went on a paddleboat it run at the speed of smell, like 9 mph. Drinks fairly priced, very attentive staff. Says to dress "smart casual" whatever that means. Put my jeans back in the trunk it was 90 degrees that day glad I did was a hot 2 hour ride looking at lakeside houses. No amazing sights, I would think this would be better in the fall than a hot summer day.

My fiancé, two friends, our three dogs, and I rented a pontoon boat for the day at a cost of approximately $700. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a group of 5-6 very young staff members, who appeared to be around 16-17 years old. While they were polite, they openly expressed that they were short-staffed and seemed unsure of their responsibilities. We took the boat out roughly 10 minutes to Long Lake and anchored near an island, remaining a respectful distance from shore. While swimming, my fiancé noticed that one of the propeller blades felt unusually sharp and jagged--something we made note of but could not inspect further in the water. Upon returning the boat, the same young staff members met us and again mentioned being understaffed. While we were unloading, one of them asked if we had hit anything, to which we replied no. He then asked if anyone had taken a photo of our driver's license. No one had. He informed us that the employee who checked us in failed to complete the required pre-inspection of the boat and did not verify or document any identification. He told us not to worry and sent us on our way. The following day, we were charged an additional $270 for a damaged prop. When we contacted the marina to dispute the charge and explain the situation, we asked for time-stamped photos from the prior rental to verify the condition of the boat before our use. What we received were unclear images of a broken prop shown on an iPad screen--without any timestamps or verifiable context. Despite the lack of proper pre-rental inspection and the vague evidence provided, the marina insisted that we were liable for the damage simply because we were the last to use the boat. This feels both unfair and negligent. Not only did their team fail to follow standard rental protocols, but their oversight could have led to serious safety risks. A cracked or compromised propeller has the potential to break mid-use, putting not only us but our pets--and potentially children and other boaters--at risk. Given the cost of the rental, the inexperience of the staff, and the marina's failure to take responsibility for their mistakes, I cannot in good faith recommend Moose Landing Marina. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and implements proper training and accountability moving forward

Some things still hold true a year later: 1. Scheduling, paying for, and signing the waiver for your adventure online is unbelievably easy. You can rent kayaks, paddleboards, or canoes for 2, 3, or 4 hours at a time (embarking between 9a and 3p. You can add a lesson before your rental, a cell phone dry bag, a dog life jacket, and a large dry bag all for an additional nominal fee. You can launch from Sebago Trails (side note: they have a really neat - and super secure - docking system/apparatus for you to get in and out of your vessel safely) or pick-up and take-away (something we haven't done, but - contrary to what I said above - *is* something we'd come back here for if that was an option for us)! 2. There's plenty of parking! Unfortunately: a) One of our kayaks was broken (which they told us about, but still put one of us in), and in the end we had to turn around after a little bit of paddling to swap it out. The kayaks aren't all the same brand or style, either, so where I was in something super sleek (that moved quickly through the water), my partner was in something much bulkier (that took a lot more work to paddle). b) The staff was so friendly and welcoming the first time! The second time, not so much. So, for us anyway, it's a bit hit or miss there. The SPTC map: a) The first time we came we kayaked Panther Run (a really mellow, lazy river inlet), portaged across the Mill Street Dam, kayaked all the way up Panther Pond, and ended at Hawthorne Beach where we swam and enjoyed snacks. It was a workout, but we saw so much wildlife and hardly saw other people. Such a peaceful, lowkey, lovely way to spend a day! b) The second time we came there had been no rain most of the summer. And that changed the Panther Run experience entirely (as there was barely any water): we got stuck on the sand so often, that we decided to turn around and head out into Sebago Lake instead (another route that STPC offers if you're not renting and taking away). We kayaked up to Hot Tub Island (which is this man made ring of stones) for lunch but it - and the knee deep water around it - was absolutely covered in and full of bird poop. So we kayaked over to Raymond Beach which was the other spot STPC suggested, but it was so crowded we had nowhere to pull up. In the end it was a nice day bobbing in the water - we saw lots of fish, baby ducks, turtles, and an enormous barn owl! - but not for $90.

Kirsten was so friendly when my friend asked her where she could find them in the store. I was so pleased she walked around the counter and personally led her to them. Great customer service. I absolutely adored it and purchased it. Not a typical purchase for me but the whole experience was so nice and genuine and made me so happy! So glad I stopped into this shop. Not only do they have and rent water equipment, it is beautifully curated with specialty jewelry, gifts and accessories! Hadn't done anything except float on a towable tube, tube was flat. They were great at getting us set up and out the door, but when I went to try for a quick exchange it's like they flipped a switch. The valve was faulty and we took our boat from Frye through the locks to exchange for a day of tubing only to be told that it would be 24 hours to ensure it's a faulty valve to get a refund. Who has 24 hours when they've already wasted 2/3 of their trip. Ended up returning the tube and unopened rope. Would've been better off ordering off Amazon and getting free shipping on a tube. Probably would've gotten to us quicker as well. What a waste of a day ... but also I caution you because this god awful company was going to send us back out the door with faulty equipment.... Just dangerous. Great at selling you stuff, but don't trust them, and they are terrible when you have to return.
