I also have a skin issue that Tobie helps me with and she has wonderful, natural products that I buy from her and take home to California with me. I found The Skin Lab on Groupon, and looked into Tobie's website. The website stated she prefers to have people pay her directly rather than purchasing the Groupon. I know Groupon takes a portion of the sales, so I thought it would be helpful to pay Tobie directly. I messaged Tobie about scheduling an appointment and asked if I should purchase the Groupon because of an additional coupon offered. She told me the price is too low for her and she won't be able to perform services at that price. She thanked me for informing her about the coupon being offered and then immediately removed the Groupon so I couldn't purchase it. Poorly run business and awful customer service. After posting this review, Tobie texted me several times being completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I had never heard of the treatment before, but it is just amazing, and you don't have to wait to see the results--my face is still glowing, and so smooth! When you can set an appointment and she sees you on time, she does a fine job. I wouldn't say there was anything special about the facial I received but she did take care when doing the derma-planing part. My face was baby smooth. Tobie is a wonderful esthetician and made me feel very comfortable as a first time client. I've been battling my skin my entire life and decided to have a dermaplaning treatment done to help with hyper/hypo pigmentation issues, dry patches, large pores and some residual acne scarring. One of the great added benefits is that this treatment removed all of the vellus hair from my face, leaving me with smooth, radiant complexion. I am more than happy with the results and can't wait to see how consistent dermaplaning can improve my skin texture, tone and feel. I went to Tobie yesterday after buying a Groupon for a chemical peel. I had never had one before and I wasn't sure what to expect. In fact, I had a vision that I would look like Samantha Jones after hers, all red and blotchy lol. Tobie is not only funny and sweet, but she knows her stuff! She started with the dermaplaining and my skin is so smooth. all the dry skin is gone and she extracted all my pores which I LOVE. Finally, she did the chemical peel, I upcharged and got this crazy thistle one, and it still feels like they are in my skin today which is weird and neato. My skin is not red at all today, in fact, it is glowy and soft and even! I am obsessed. I was able to book the appointment online with many options. Tobie made me feel welcomed and relaxed the minute I walked into the door. The music and table was relaxing as well as your voice and technique. She gave me a step by step educational guide on what she was doing and why she was doing it. We also talked about other skin treatments and what type of facial lotions were best for my skin. The results are amazing and my skin has never looked and felt so good! There was a very minimal redness and all of her products are chemical free! Tobie obviously takes a lot of pride in her area of expertise and is professional and personable. I was very excited to try for the first time dermaplaning and I have always loved chemical peels. I bought a 3 pack and scheduled my first two appointments through The Skin Lab's scheduling app. First appointment scheduled, Tobie cancelled it. I rescheduled for the following Tuesday and she accidentally double booked me with someone - she asked me to find another appointment slot, but I ended up staying and waiting for over an hour so she could see me. She then cancelled my second appointment with her. I am extremely disappointed with her customer service. I didn't even receive a phone call about the cancellations - one of her friends texted me in a group text to announce the cancellation. Really unprofessional and off putting.
