Hands down would recommend this place to any soon-to-be-bride! I knew I found my perfect dress - it just didn't look so at first try-on at the dress boutique. I'm 5'2" and built like a twig with no curves to fill in any of the needed areas. But the Sewing Room bippity-boppity-booped my dream dress to life. The ladies up front here listen to you and will make suggestions - but there is no pressure to do anything unless you want to. And the seamstress behind-the-scenes, well, she's just the best around. Every cost was upfront and very reasonable compared to the local competition. They got my dress done early and even when I was satisfied with its look, if they found something that needed to be worked on, they would fix it. This business cares about the product they put out - and that's a business you want to place your trust in.

I needed a place to take my wedding gown to be altered as the shop I bought it from was way out of my budget. After some recommendations from friends, I decided to go to the sewing room and I am so glad that I did. I was told to go 3-4 months before my wedding and they were able to completely alter my dress in a month and in only one fitting. I got to take my dress home two months before my wedding day. I couldn't believe the quick turn around time and how much more affordable it was for all the work that they did. My dress has a lot of detail and beading, and the team at the sewing room did better than I could have ever imagined! I will definitely be a return customer for any future alteration needs

My wedding was a week and a half away and I needed a last minute hem on the bottom of my dress. They were kind enough to take my request and I am so pleased with the results. Would recommend! Service all around is awesome and they did exactly what I asked for.

I had a skirt rehemmed here. It took a week to get it back, but it was only $8. I'll probably be back to have jeans done.

Crazy thing is...this past weekend I ripped that same pocket but in a different spot. They are so skilled and can make any alterations requested, even on very short notice. I bought a dress I liked but there were certain things I didn't like about it. They knew exactly what to do to make it into a dream dress, things I wouldn't have thought of. Most impressive, my daughter-in-law needed some work done on her bustle. She took it to a different place twice and didn't like the way it came out. These ladies made it perfect. At her fitting, they didn't like something about it and made the alterations right on spot so we can take it with us immediately. Not only are they skilled at their craft but their customer service is impeccable. You get all of this at a great value. I recommend EVERYONE to go there.

(primarily because I needed them, so that was a motivating factor.) I was recommended to try this place out from my local dry cleaners, and boy, was this a great recommendation! For starters, they have really awesome hours. Their open Monday through Friday 10 am until 7 PM, and Saturdays from 10-6. They also don't require an appointment, which I loved! I was able to swing in here on my way home from work which was easy and convenient. It's located inside the Vince and Joe's shopping center next to Hamlin Pub, so it's relatively easy to find. Walking in, the lobby area is wonderfully decorated and clean. One of the nicest lobbies I think I've ever seen for a tailor/seamstress shop. There were two girls working here and both seemed to know what they were doing One of them had my try my pants on and she made the necessary adjustments to make my pants fit correctly. Surprisingly, they only needed a few days to get my pants done. I dropped them off on a Friday night and I got a text Monday morning saying they were ready? that's a quick turn around. Their prices are competitive, and it's $14 a pair for hemming. Since I had two pair, that's $28. Not to shabby. The other places were charging $15, and some even quoted me up to $20 a pair of pants? UM NO. Overall I was really impressed with the service and overall experience here. While its not close to home, it's easy to find, has great hours and they do good work for alterations. Also, the gal waiting on me said that they were under new ownership. I don't know how long ago that happened, but that's good to know. The reason I found out was because when I checked in here on Yelp, there was a 20% off coupon for first time check ins. She was confused about it and told me the check in was probably from the previous owners. I really loved my time here and their a good place. Will be returning in the future.

I have a ~40 year old Pfaff 1215 that I use to make big kites and the foot pedal had died. As well, the machine was struggling with some of the 3 and 4 layer heavy nylon sewing that I do which I have to use heavy duty upholstery thread for which really works the machine hard. Victor took a hold of that thing and in just a few minutes figured out how he could set me up with a working foot petal (a factory replacement would have been $80) and also do a complete reconditioning (which usually runs $100) - both for $150. Victor is very knowledgeable about the inner workings and construction of the sewing machines he services and I can vouch he carries on the tradition of his father's commitment to good service. The owner may possibly be a skilled seamstress, but I will never support her business and I plan to spread the word. Go somewhere else to avoid her total lack of common sense lest you ask the wrong question and experience her fury. So sorry I ever ventured into her store. I had two lined winter blazers that I've never worn b/c they were too long, so I wanted to price the work and determine if it was worth the cost to have them hemmed. I left the jackets and decided to call a couple other places for cost comparison, and I did call Pat to ask if she could come down a bit in the price. She said no and that hers was a fair price. That was okay because I totally agree with paying small business a fair wage and do not have a problem giving workers what they're worth. Just because I asked the question and kindly attempted to negotiate a bit with her, she rudely told me that she will not complete the work even though I kept trying to tell her to just go ahead with the price quoted (she wouldn't listen) and then she just abruptly hung up. She was so outraged and insulted that I would even pose the question that she didn't take a breath to realize that I was trying to say the price is okay and to go ahead with the alterations. Before arriving at the store to pick up my clothing, I decided to be gracious and forget about our previous phone call and forgive her poor behavior, but she decided to be rude again and tell me that I had the audacity to call her and ask her to negotiate the price. She obviously doesn't understand that it's okay to ask for a better price. It's her prerogative to say no thank you and let the customer decide if that's reasonable. I did not pressure her in any way, but her behavior showed her lack of professionalism and human decency to a customer. She's a rude and disrespectful person. Please do not support a business who treats others this way.
