My husband and I usually go to Men's Warehouse for his suits. He has an interview coming up next Thursday and his suits no longer fit him good. My dad told me about this store so we decided to give it a shot. The store is crazy busy inside because they have amazing deals. Even though it was busy, this gentleman measured him and got him in a suit so fast. He tried on another blue one with a slightly different color and chose that one. The gentleman told him to pick out any ahirt and tie as well. We weren't sure what the price was so we asked. He said it was $139 for the whole suit, tie, and shirt. The only additional charge is any alterations. It only cost $15 for the alterations though. He said it will be ready on Wednesday for pickup any time. We are so excited. My sister told me about this place and I was a bit reluctant, expecting to potentially pay out too much money. There's nothing to critique about my experience with this business. The man that helped me was awesome. Pointed me in a direction and made some recommendations, but wasn't "pushy" at all. As someone who needs a suit maybe 2-3 times I year I appreciate the guidance and recommendations. They have a huge selection so I would be walking around aimlessly without his help. I went there to buy a suit/get measured and then again to pick it up, and altogether I probably spent a total of 30 minutes in the store, and that's after trying on the suit, belt, and shoes. He had me in and out of there super quickly, but I never once felt like he was rushing me. He measured me very quickly. Almost too quickly I thought at first. And the shirt I originally tried on was too small but he said the next size up would fit perfect. I'm always a little concerned about getting new clothes because things rarely fit me well. Usually tops that "fit" me are too short, but the next size up is too baggy and visa versa. So the quick measurements worried me. However, I just picked up my suit today and every bit of it fits to perfection. I've ever had a better fitting set of formal wear. The shirt that he recommended without trying on is perfect. I guess when you have decades of experience it makes sense that you get pretty good at what you do. Customer service and overall experience was an A+. Now to the pricing. I got a 3 piece suit, belt, and shoes for under $300. That's a steal. The price was more than double that at men's warehouse for a similar set. It's also worth mentioning that none of the items feel cheap or inexpensive. Prices are also very well posted. I feel like some of these places make it so you don't know how much the things you're picking out are until you're checking out. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. This will likely be the only place I go to from now on for my formal wear needs. I can't think of a single reason to go anywhere else. Service, selection, and pricing are all superior to any other place IMO. read more

Someone recommended this retailer for boys' first suit for homecoming so, with only a week to figure out my son's wardrobe, I took him there on a Saturday afternoon. I was dreading it, thinking it would be painful and take all day to find everything he needed. We arrived and were almost immediately attended to by the owner Tom who helped my son pick out a suit within a few minutes! He measured him for a few alterations then helped him pick out a shirt, tie and matching pocket handkerchief, even some fun socks. My son and I were both thrilled. Everything came to $143: pants, jacket, shirt, tie, handkerchief, socks and alterations, ready in 6 days. We were on our way home in about 20 minutes. Whaaaat?!?! Milano has been our family go-to for over 11 years. I used to come here for every homecoming (and was reminded of how awful our style was back then when I went to get a dress tailored this weekend, haha). Even while living in Chicago, Tom is the only person I trust for all of my altering needs. He helps not only make a dress fit, but goes as far as reconstructing it so it can still be the dress you hoped for. His turnaround time is incredibly fast too. He's managing to fit me in twice with a wedding that is only a month away and he's the only person I can trust to do a last fitting with a week before the wedding. Incredible! Worst place to ever go to. Had to get a suit for wedding I was in and I should have known when they did not measure my waist. When the suit came in the pants were huge. I wear a 32-34 and they ordered me a 38 And the thighs were huge Too. When I asked if the waist was being taken in I was told being I'm wearing a belt it will fine. Well when the suit came in it was like nothing was altered. They were still too long amd baggy. I said I needed more altered and was told they could not alter anymore unless they order a smaller size which will take 2 weeks. The wedding is in 2 days. Why wasn't the correct measurements done in the first place. Now I have to wear a suit that is still too big because they do not know how to measure or tailor Correctly. Too long of a story to post. But we went here for our wedding party and we all had our skepticism because they measure so quick and everything seemed to be shrugged off by them as they seem to just tell you it's fine or it looks good and talk you into it. Couple days before our wedding the shirts came in and they were the wrong color and sizes. I do applaud Tom for trying to accommodate us in a tight pinch. However they're too unorganized so when they re-measured us, we mostly got wrong fitting shirts. We had to go to the tailor on the actual day of the wedding twice to try to get it correct. Very disappointed in this experience. They need to be more organized and truthful as they seem to try to smooth talk you out of any concern. When I first went there shopping around where I was going to do my tux from,I asked if groom was free? As it's a party of 11 and I said the other places told me they would. Adam brushed it off and said we can't do free but we'll take care of u. I persisted and said like what ? $100? Can u give my sons free as he's only 8, and he said we'll do something like that, we'll take care of it. Well when it was time to check out 2 months later I was charged full price and I told him about what he said when we asked him earlier and he tried to brush it off that they're not making money on it etc. I told him he should be honest with his customers and that's u fortunate that he did that. We were really disappointed with our experience here buying 10 suits for our wedding. We picked a slim fit suit, which my dad (who lives out of town and wouldn't be here until two days before the wedding) hasn't ever tried, so I was told all he needed to do was to go to a department store, find one that fit and to send a picture of the tag. This made me extremely nervous, and asked multiple times "Are you sure you don't want his measurements?" I was assured time and time again that it would be fine. Shocker- it didn't fit and he had to buy a different suit last minute. The day of my wedding I got a phone call that half of the groomsmen didn't have vests and the rest did, which was a bummer because I really liked the vest of the suit. Honestly, I understand, things happen, but I just feel like that's what you pay professionals for, to make sure things DONT happen during your wedding. All of our wedding vendors made our day seamless and stress-free, and my husband and I just felt like we brought a lot of business somewhere only to be let down. read more

Went here to rent a tux for a friends wedding. Prefacing this that I understand a rental isn't going to be a perfect tux. I go to get measured and the owner measures me in the middle of the store filled with customers and takes about 15 seconds. Sends me on my way and tells me the tux will be ready 4-5 days before the wedding. The tux wasn't actually ready until 2 days before the wedding and when I try it on it's way too big. I take it back in to have them take everything in and the owner doesn't even bother to remeasure. Just looks me up and down and says okay I'll take a inch or two off. I come back in after the alteration is done and although the jacket fits (okay -still not great), the pants are still baggy in the legs and loose around the waist. When I tell the owner they are still too big - instead of saying okay let me take a little more off he decides to argue and say "no they need to be like that so you can sit down" I had to leave work to come try on the pants after the alteration so I decided it wasn't worth arguing over and took the tux as is. I spent the whole night pulling up my pants every 5 minutes. Recommendation to the owner - when your customer says something doesn't fit, listen to them instead of arguing. I spent $150 on a rental tux that didnt fit from an owner that argues with the customer instead of understanding that the customer knows when something fits them and something doesn't. Im a size 36 waist and he wrote down a size 40 on his measurements. He corrected me even after I told him this. Couldn't pay me to come here for my wedding. read more

Then we remembered Tom from Miilano Tailor down the street. We worked with Adam (Tom's son) at Milano who was a delight from beginning to end. He has taught his son well. Never again! I have used this tailor before to reline a jacket. He did a great job. So I used him again to replace a zipper in another jacket. Big mistake!! Most unprofessional job I could have imagined. He stitched the zipper so far away from the edge so that the unmatched color shows up way too much (see photos). Also, the stitching is crooked and in a few places he sewed the inside lining with his stitching so the coat buckles. When I complained to him, he said "He did the best he could." Then he took my money for the full amount. I commented to their web site, it's been two weeks and still no reply. I wasted my time and money and now I have to redo it myself. I will never go to this shop again. Also, he must smoke in his shop because my jacket reeked of stale tobacco when I brought it home. read more

I wear suits 5 days a week and Milano Tailor is easily the cheapest high quality tailor I've been to. The suits are all nice and he does good work. Nordstrom and Saks charge upwards of $60 to do basic tailoring for a new suit. Milano's does it literally for around $10-$12. Plus I've brought suits that I bought elsewhere and I still get the same great price on tailoring. read more

Came here to get a Macy's suit tailored before a wedding the next day and ended up returning it for one of his suits. His was polyester, but the fit was much better and the suit felt more solid despite being made with cheaper materials.
