I needed to get my wedding dress altered a bit and a bustle put on the back of my dress so I searched for an alteration place and Kim's was one of the top results. So I decided to bring my dress here and I couldn't be happier! She did an AMAZING job and my wedding dress fits perfectly!! Kim is the owner and the only one who works here. She is an absolute sweetheart! Her work is incredible! My maid of honor and step daughter who is one of my bridesmaids bought their dresses here to be altered and they look perfect!! I swear every time I went in here it was always busy so that shows she does amazing work!! If you need any garment altered do not hesitate to bring it here, you will not be disappointed. My brother is also getting married this year so if my dress for his wedding needs to be altered I will definitely bring it here. I will be recommending Kim's to friends and family !!

Thank god for Kim! I had a difficult time finding a dress for a formal event that I was attending. I found what looked like the perfect dress and ordered it online. I am a size 4-6 which usually means a small. However, Nordstrom didn't provide a size chart and when my dress came, there was no way it was going to zip past my bra strap area. I frantically ordered a second dress in a medium. I held my breath and it thankfully zipped up. But the dress was a good two inches too long, even with three inch heels on! The clock was ticking. I called around to multiple tailors and seamstresses. None could possibly have this dress hemmed for me as quickly as I needed. Now, I'm clumsy. I trip over air. Add a few drinks and it can be interesting. Now add a dress that is two inches too long (or try walking in super high heels) and we are talking disastrous! But Kim came through for me. She got me in immediately and had it ready for me the morning I needed it! It was the perfect length and I didn't fall down! Hah. Yay! I will be using her for all of my needs from now on. I am the exact average height of a US Female (5'4") yet everything is always too long on me! So I was in need of someone who could hem a lot of pants! I'm grateful to have found her!

Kim is truly the best! Not only is she a great person, I have full confidence in her and her ability to know exactly what is needed when I bring garments for her to alter. I've brought multiple bridesmaid dresses for full alterations, she re-worked a prom dress of my sisters, which needed straps created in addition to a regular hem and my mom has also had a formal dress hemmed. One bridesmaid dress I brought cross-country for alterations because I wouldn't trust anyone else with such a special occasion dress. Every piece is perfectly tailored and I always feel confident in her work. Quick turnaround, excellent price, unbeatable quality. I recommend her to anyone in the area looking for alterations.

Kim is great! Had to get a bridesmaid dress altered for a destination wedding. Turn around time was only one week and the dress fit perfectly. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone needing alterations.

Bride's maid dress, taken in at the bottom and cups replaced.

I brought my dress in a week and two days before the wedding (oops) but was able to pick it up exactly a week later! She hemmed the bottom of the dress and replaced the cups with something smoother and better supporting. I should've asked her to take in the bottom in a little bit more since I ended up tripping on it a little at times but that was my mistake. When asked about ironing the cups since they were squished during shipping, she offered to switch them out but wasn't pushy about selling me an extra service! She was very sweet, overall great service and end result. Will be returning for any other alterations I need done! :)

I'm so glad I found Kim on yelp! I needed a dress altered for a wedding that was less than a week away and she had it done in 4 days. I had the dress hemmed, straps shortened and the bust taken in. My boyfriend also had 2 dress pants hemmed during that time frame. She was so nice and the process was quick. Everything was reasonably priced and way more affordable than the last place I've gone to. I'll be coming back to her with all my altering needs, I suggest you do too!

She was able to make the repairs while I waited, and her sewing skills are top notch, plus I was happy with the good price I paid. It looks brand new again. Crazy thing is...this past weekend I ripped that same pocket but in a different spot. I brought it back to the store for repairs and the same nice woman quickly fixed the pocket and had it looking great again. My experience was great here. You should probably give them your business too :)

They are so skilled and can make any alterations requested, even on very short notice. I bought a dress I liked but there were certain things I didn't like about it. They knew exactly what to do to make it into a dream dress, things I wouldn't have thought of. Most impressive, my daughter-in-law needed some work done on her bustle. She took it to a different place twice and didn't like the way it came out. These ladies made it perfect. At her fitting, they didn't like something about it and made the alterations right on spot so we can take it with us immediately. Not only are they skilled at their craft but their customer service is impeccable. You get all of this at a great value. I recommend EVERYONE to go there.

Very personable, friendly and professional, with reasonable rates. He seems to know how to fix any machine you can bring to him. Greetings, I…read morecontacted Victor at the Utica Sewing Center because his shop front said they work on Pfaff machines. I have a ~40 year old Pfaff 1215 that I use to make big kites and the foot pedal had died. As well, the machine was struggling with some of the 3 and 4 layer heavy nylon sewing that I do which I have to use heavy duty upholstery thread for which really works the machine hard. Victor took a hold of that thing and in just a few minutes figured out how he could set me up with a working foot petal (a factory replacement would have been $80) and also do a complete reconditioning (which usually runs $100) - both for $150. Victor is very knowledgeable about the inner workings and construction of the sewing machines he services and I can vouch he carries on the tradition of his father's commitment to good service. Nice job VIctor, and thanks again. My machine runs great! Todd Vest bzzh8c@hotmail.com

(primarily because I needed them, so that was a motivating factor.) I was recommended to try this place out from my local dry cleaners, and boy, was this a great recommendation! For starters, they have really awesome hours. Their open Monday through Friday 10 am until 7 PM, and Saturdays from 10-6. They also don't require an appointment, which I loved! I was able to swing in here on my way home from work which was easy and convenient. It's located inside the Vince and Joe's shopping center next to Hamlin Pub, so it's relatively easy to find. Walking in, the lobby area is wonderfully decorated and clean. One of the nicest lobbies I think I've ever seen for a tailor/seamstress shop. There were two girls working here and both seemed to know what they were doing One of them had my try my pants on and she made the necessary adjustments to make my pants fit correctly. Surprisingly, they only needed a few days to get my pants done. I dropped them off on a Friday night and I got a text Monday morning saying they were ready? that's a quick turn around. Their prices are competitive, and it's $14 a pair for hemming. Since I had two pair, that's $28. Not to shabby. The other places were charging $15, and some even quoted me up to $20 a pair of pants? UM NO. Overall I was really impressed with the service and overall experience here. While its not close to home, it's easy to find, has great hours and they do good work for alterations. Also, the gal waiting on me said that they were under new ownership. I don't know how long ago that happened, but that's good to know. The reason I found out was because when I checked in here on Yelp, there was a 20% off coupon for first time check ins. She was confused about it and told me the check in was probably from the previous owners. I really loved my time here and their a good place. Will be returning in the future.
