What a wonderful woman! I was in such a hurry to find somewhere that could just charge me to take my measurements for my outfit for my friends Diwali. They use different measurements than American clothes/dresses, and she knew exactly how to adjust the numbers and what they would need. She not only stopped what she was doing to help me, but was extremely friendly and accommodating! I was in such a hurry as well and appreciate everything she did for me! We needed serious alterations to a wedding gown ASAP and took a chance on Jules Joyner based on two five star reviews. Look no further for dressmaking at its best! Jules basically took the dress apart and put it back together. The bride also had two special requests - create a bow for the back of the dress and make some lace covers for her hands. Jules told our bride that she can do anything and she certainly did come through for us! In less than two weeks Jules reconstructed a gown, sewed a hairclip to the veil, created a beautiful bow and made lace hand covers. We were running late for an appointment one day but Jules was so cool about it 'I 'll be here when you get here' - great attitude and so supportive of her clients. Cost of the work Jules did in two weeks is truly priceless in relation to our needs. She is moderately priced for the amount of work she does because she truly loves her work and values her clients. I was looking up local alteration companies and this came up with great reviews on service,satisfaction etc. with Saturday hours until 6pm. I walked in on Saturday to see if cups or pads could be placed in a dress. She seemed annoyed that I walked in and suggested that I make an appointment. She asked me to show her the dress so I showed her the dress and she said since there was no structure she couldn't put cups in the dress. Understandable....But how about is there anything else I can help you with??? A smile? Thank you for coming in. I had 2 other items in my hand that needed alterations and she didn't even ask. A+++ Jules Joyner Designs saved the day with my wedding dress. Purchased my dress from another local store in GP (boutique bellissima) who was supposed to do the alterations, but in short- they didn't do a very good job putting on the belt (it looked like I tried to put it on- and well, I'm no seamstress)- and they wanted to charge and arm and a leg to do the hemming (which wasn't told to us originally). I'll be writing my own review on them- wouldn't go back there again. Back to Jules- I was only in town for the weekend so timing was of the essence. My mom had called Jules last minute to see if she could do the hem on my dress in one day. Sure enough! I felt like she was a fairy godmother helping out. She not only did the hem (and re-did the mess up from the shop), but she's meticulous and did a fabulous job! For the price of what the other place was charging, she did my dress, my moms and my sister's (maid of honor) dress for the same amt. I called to set up an appointment to get a bridesmaid dress altered (basic hemline and straps). The wedding is in 3 weeks, and I was told by the employee on the phone that my "timing was terrible" and that hopefully my "schedule is flexible." I've used other establishments that have rebuilt dresses for me in that amount of time, and the tone that was used by the employee was not the type of service I support. I understand that they may have several other orders to complete, but it is not okay to talk down to potential clients before you even know what the situation is. I was excited to give them a call after the positive reviews I read (including those who required services "last minute"), but this is not the courtesy that I received. Jules is an absolute MIRACLE WORKER! My dress was super intricate and while she didn't make it for me, it felt like she did. I ended up in a bit of a time crunch to get my alterations done and thankfully Jules was able to squeeze me into her busy schedule (and then take it in AGAIN a week before the wedding after already having worked on it). She made my dress fit like a glove and I heard a TON of compliments on how great it looked. I live locally and was looking to get a bustle put in my wedding dress. This was the first place I called because I saw such great reviews on google. I've never been treated so rudely over the phone in my life. After telling her I only needed the bustle put in my dress she goes "in your opinion" then she asked what my schedule was like but before I could answer she told me (very rudely!!) they were all booked up for the week. I just picked up my wedding gown from Jules. It is absolutely perfect. Her work is impeccable and her attention to detail is phenomenal. She added straps to my dress. She found this gorgeous fabric that probably would have been pretty on its own. However, Jules went the extra mile and incorporated beading from my dress to make the straps look like they were originally there, not added on. She not only met every single wish I made on the dress but she vastly exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend her. On top of everything else, she's a lot of fun to work with. I was very busy the 2 weeks previous to my bachelorette party, and ended up shopping the day before for my dress at Sommerset. I found the perfect dress, but it needed to be taken in a little around the bust. I wasn't going to buy it unless I could find someone to do it last minute. (I moved less than a year ago to the east side didn't know a seamstress nearby yet.) I literally sat down in the mall and went online on my cell phone and called a few places who said they couldn't do it so last minute.
