The reasons being: High quality work, very fair (in my opinion; $20 for pant hem [August 2022]) price points, and great customer service! In my experience, turnaround is less than 2-weeks. Before moving back to the midwest, my local tailor was a man who trained in Milan and spent 50 years in the business. He was perhaps best known for making John Kerry's bespoke suits (and if you've ever seen photos of John Kerry, you know those suits fit his body wonderfully). Getting clothes tailored from him was like a high--and I've been chasing that high all over the region for the last few years. So after being dissatisfied at 4 other tailors in the area, I gave Ojen a shot. I had somehow gotten my hands on an obscenely nice (and expensive) coat, and needed a few nips and tucks here and there. Nothing was necessarily complicated, but the unique construction of the coat meant it needed a gentle hand, particularly around the sleeve buttons, to avoid scarring. The coat of course turned out perfect (hence the rating), but a few other aspects of the experience are notable. Ojen and her co-worker explained every decision to me and walked through exactly what they would do to the coat. They communicated great via text, and also had me try on the coat a couple times throughout the process to make sure the fit was exactly right. They also under-promised and over-delivered on the timeline. While it was not cheap, it was certainly comparable to the other highly-rated tailors in the region. In my experience, Ojen is the best in Ann Arbor, and certainly worth a visit.

This is a lot of work for Safi, the tailor. The alterations were finished on time as he promised and even dry-cleaned. Safi is one of the most gentle, personable, sweet, and honest people I have met. Sent off two pants for the simplest alterations--hemming. The hems on both pairs were twisted to where the pants no longer sit right. One of the pants even has different lengths between both legs. This is the absolute simplest alteration that was somehow botched. I also brought in a $1700 Herno jacket to get the sleeves shortened. The owner was confident he would be able to shorten the sleeves. I come to pick up the jacket and it looks worse than before I brought it in. The work on both sleeves was uneven, the stitching was crooked, and the worst part is, because the material was cut, I can't even go to another tailor to fix his mistake. This jacket was irreparably botched. I brought in 3 items--two pairs of pants and a jacket--NONE of the pieces were altered correctly. Your clothes are better off not coming here. Adding insult to injury, when I went to pay, he also added $10 to the price he quoted me. STAY AWAY
