Our food arrived in about 15 minutes and included a small salad and two pieces of bread. I though my meal was excellent. It came hot and you could really taste the smoked haddock. My wife thought it had excellent flavor but would have liked more haddock. Still, she said the taste was very good. We hurried out because I was very concerned about negotiating the single track road and narrow bridges at night in the rain. We took it easy and made it back with no issues.

Sometimes you find small out of the way places and uh oh. As we figured out, Aultguish actually is a great place to stay if you're exploring the northern Highlands. We happened to need to be in Ullapool the following morning. An easy 20 mile or so drive. If you stay here, bring a nightlight! When you leave the bathroom light on, the fan runs also. No way to stop it. Restaurant wise, we had dinner and breakfast. Dinner was cheesy garlic bread. A really good pizza crust with garlic butter and cheese. Not bad. I got a surprisingly good pepperoni pizza. Great crust! Wife got the fried chicken sandwich, also really good. And great fries too! Breakfast was the buffet. The beers themselves are just so-so although some of that is just because the local styles aren't exactly my jam. British pub ale (which is what most of their beers wind up being close to) is just not my jam. That said, they have a few better and more complex beers. The Cuillin Beast (scotch ale) and Black (stout, but not too heavy and closer to a less creamy Guinness) are both pretty decent. Nothing mind-blowing though. If you're a craft beer person, this is a "fun because it's local" more than "fun because they're really good" stop. There's a few bottles of stuff you can find in the shop (including a smoked beer, an ESB, and a lighter ale) that aren't available in the restaurants around Skye, but mostly it's the same beers which you can (impressively) find for sale in almost all the restaurants on Skye. The brewery shop itself is disappointing. It's basically a bottle shop with a bunch of merchandise near the pier in Uig. There's a small coffee shop, but you can't do tastings, there's no food. There's attempt to make a space to hang out and enjoy anything near the pier. Even a few picnic tables with a view of the harbor would be really nice. This all rounds out to a four star for me, but it really depends what you're looking for.
