This place has both a hotel and restaurant. Since it is kind of in the middle of nowhere, that's a good thing!
We found the Aultguish Inn when we needed a place to stay due to a change in vacation plans. My wife was able to book us a room on short notice! We got a small room with two twin beds. It was small. Not enough room to lay out suitcases. Not a big deal.
Bathroom is also small. Each room here has its own, so that's a big plus. It was very clean also. Another plus. Sometimes you find small out of the way places and uh oh. As we figured out, Aultguish actually is a great place to stay if you're exploring the northern Highlands. We happened to need to be in Ullapool the following morning. An easy 20 mile or so drive.
If you stay here, bring a nightlight! When you leave the bathroom light on, the fan runs also. No way to stop it.
Restaurant wise, we had dinner and breakfast. Dinner was cheesy garlic bread. A really good pizza crust with garlic butter and cheese. Not bad. I got a surprisingly good pepperoni pizza. Great crust! Wife got the fried chicken sandwich, also really good. And great fries too! Breakfast was the buffet. Poached eggs, meats, black pudding, beans, fruits, grains. A really decent way to start our day.
Not sure if we will be back in this area again. If so, we would stay here again for sure. read more
