Literally so many bug issues and staff does not assist with that situation at all. Pest control literally just leaves sticky paper things in your aprtment. No treatment even gets done. Despite the thousands of poop stations everywhere. Management is trying there best to get this under control but I think they need to start holding individual people accountable. I have never had a problem with parking fir residents but parking for visitors is very hard to find. We had a good amount of visitors parking but they took away HALF of it for commercial parking even though no one uses it. The places located surrounding The Ella will scream and honk their horns at you if you are even close to their property or on the side walk with your dog which is very unpleasant. Other than those 3 complaints, I love living at The Ella. You definitely get what you pay for. Maintenance is always very helpful when you have a problem. The club house is amazing. The staff is super friendly. All of my neighbors are super friendly and considerate. Location is pretty good. Everything in Scotts Addition is a 5-10 minute walk. I would definitely recommend living here to people.

Whether it's the thick concrete walls or the preponderance of residents studying/working with VCU Heath, the noisiest I have ever heard it was hearing what sounded faintly like music in the far distance. Cons... Actually I'm struggling to think of cons that haven't been addressed, but if you see these in old reviews, know they've gotten better. Pet droppings: noticed a few times the first couple years, haven't personally seen any for at least 2 years Pool: initial furniture wasn't comfortable, current furniture is great. Even if one umbrella broke. It also used to regularly turn green, but the management finally seems to be on top of that this year! Hasn't turned green yet once *crosses fingers to not jinx it* Pool again: we had sad little electric grills that kept breaking, but finally got some nice gas grills in 2024 that are still working great

I have been here nearly since it's opening for around 2.5 years thus far and have watched its tremendous growth. At the core the management team is stellar and truly love their jobs! Chesley and Ashley lead an awesome team that is responsive, kind and reliable. The apartments are modern industrial. The amenities (two story gym, rooftop pool with lounge area, coffee station, gated garage) are all excellent. During my stay here they have made positive changes: there's a security desk now, lock box for packages, property manager is in the actual residential building, garage is secured/locked with access card, elevators have easy-to-clean wood floor instead of carpet. The mixture of 55+ and children is a plus for me; I enjoy having the children around. I also enjoy the multi-ethnic residents. My neighbors have all been wonderful though I am the old lady in the building! Maintainence staff and office staff are very responsive to any request I've made. So far the noise you hear from neighbors is minimal and nothing that you wouldn't expect with apartment living. In fact it is very peaceful just sitting on my porch on a weekend hearing children playing occasionally and birds chirping. The response time for any issues is phenomenal! I had a pile up of leaves by my front door after a heavy wind and within hours of my email they were removed. The location is amazing and staff are wonderful! I would highly recommend this complex.

I mean every single person. They really try hard to make us feel like they care about their residents. My problem becomes their problem and they will see you through to the end. When the maintenance work crew comes in to fix anything (only thing that ever happened was my fault) they are clean and leave a slip to let you know your issue was taken care of. They NEVER send nastygrams (rude emails). Even when there is an issue the emails are so nicely crafted with a level of professionalism you can appreciate. The noise level where I live is pretty low. I never hear anyone above beside or below me. I hardly have on the TV so my house is usually quite. There are dogs but the halls are cleaned so often they never smell, which is nice since I don't own a dog. Plus I never hear barking. They try to have events for us that are always nice and I try to make it a point to attend since they do try to make them nice and offer a lot as well. Overall I love and would recommend this apartment complex because the peace of mind is worth it to me. I never have to worry about crazy rent increases they are pretty modest. They have the biggest kitchen space for the cost. Trust me I compared so many places. The private parking and secured entry are great features for me as a single woman. Plus they are green and my bills are never outrageous due to poor construction. I thought I was going to stay a year then buy but I honestly don't mind renting and living here and I love not having to worry about anything. The only thing I wish my apartment had was a balcony for sitting and broom closet of some sort just to put my cleaning supplies and my vacuum. If you are looking for a luxury apartment that is close to everything this is the place for you.

I have tried to talk with the neighbors directly but they refused to answer the door and had to leave letters as well as my cell phone number so that we can discuss this issue. Nothing has seem to be working and unfortunately I am forced to move out of an apartment that I absolutely loved. I felt that it would be my due diligence to warn anyone who is coming to be aware of living here as you will be dealing with some incredibly loud and inconsiderate neighbors. Don't say I didn't warn you. On the other hand maintenance is wonderful and that's about it.
