This gelateria is tucked away in a cute area. The road is like...cobblestone? Or very uneven and narrow at least. Wasn't super friendly for our car. Probably better to walk from somewhere else nearby. The inside was super weirdly hot, which was unexpected. Fortunately we were getting our goodies to go. There's very limited seating inside but you could maybe grab a spot if you wanted to. I ordered a scoop of hazelnut gelato and husband got chocolate. The flavor selection is somewhat simple and limited but that's not necessarily a bad thing - product seems very high quality. Service was acceptable, quiet and matter of fact. The serving size was generous. Both gelatos were good, but my hazelnut was great! It was so pleasantly nutty and sweet, and the texture was amazing. I'd definitely order this treat again! Give them a try if you're a gelato fan. Yum!

My personal favorite pistachio is always available which I love. I also really enjoy the pineapple habanero which is uniquely sweet and spicy. The gelato consistency is dense and silky and reminds me of Europe. The staff here is friendly and will let you try multiple flavors to help you decide. It has limited seating inside but there's more outside which is nice on a cool day. They also have a full coffee menu which is a plus. If you're more of an espresso or pourover person they make it really well!

Even though I wasn't planning to stay, the inside immediately caught my eye it was bright, fun, and full of energy, the kind of place that makes you want to come back just to hang out. I was completely unsure of what to order because there were so many options, but the staff was incredibly kind and patient. They offered recommendations, explained the different flavors, and even let me try a few samples so I could figure out what I liked! I ended up choosing a caramel vanilla-based ice cream, and it was delicious!! So rich, smooth, and not overly sweet. The whole experience felt welcoming from start to finish. Even for a quick to‑go stop, they made it memorable, and I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their enticing menu!

I wish I could give them a special sticker or more stars since this place is my all time favorite place. The line during peak hours and warmer days can be long but it's so worth it! You order from a small window and seating is only available outside. I started having Doodle's when I was elementary age when they would take their doodle truck to the soccer field. My first love was the peach sorbet. And my love grew as I continued to try ALL the flavors. My current favorite flavors are peanut butter and cookies and cream. Please try these! Just thinking about them is making me drool. The owners are amazing! Love Mr. Doodle! He even came to my wedding reception and served all my favorite flavors to all my favorite friends and family that traveled in from all over the US. And no shock, but the guests LOVED Doodles. They have a cart and trucks to take to private events and it's always a party pleaser. If you are in Birmingham please take the time to visit this place. It is one of a kind!

So a normal spoon won't work? Ended up with mango and peach sorbet which was very refreshing and delicious. My husband got cookies&cream and it was just off bc it's traditionally a very creamy/dairy base so the sorbet was not as expected. He was disappointed and this could have been prevented if the girl had just given him a sample. Outdoor seating was available it had melted sticky doodles all over and we were invaded by flies landing on our doodles or leg or table or baby. Be prepared to eat in your car.
