This is a very basic, traditional "Inn". Reservations are made through their website and a…read moreconfirmation email sent outlining reservation dates, number of guests and room selection. On the day of check-in, we received a text message stating our room was available for early check-in. Inn policies are on their website. 'Quiet' hours are between 10pm and 7am as a courtesy to other guests. The house is an historic Victorian with a large porch overlooking the Saxton River across the street. Behind the building is a staircase up into the woods where you will find a walking path. Two basketball nets are in the parking area. Vermont maple syrup is for sale in the vestibule. Furnishing are estate sale finds and fit the period of the home. There is no elevator at this property. Rooms are on the two upper floors, so be sure you can carry your bags up the stairs. Payment was taken at the time we checked in. Rooms do not have keys, and the front door is not locked. A care taker lives on site on the first floor. He is available by text if we needed anything. A small sitting area is located on the 2nd floor and includes a community refrigerator with a few honor bar beverages for sale including soda, beer and single serve wine. Two microwaves are in this area as is a coffee pot and supplies. The rooms all have wood floors with area rugs. Ours had a desk area, sofa and a slipper chair as well as a small TV, small fridge and coffee maker with mugs. We rented the one King bed room which includes an en suite 3/4 bath. One bar of soap and one shampoo are in a basket on shelves over the toilet as was the hair dryer. The room did not include a dresser or clothes closet. No iron, extra pillows or blanket. The suitcase stand is too small to accommodate either of our small suitcases so we used the coffee table. A few hooks are on the wall between the windows for coats and what not. Shades and curtains cover the four windows in this large corner room. All rooms have cast iron radiators. Ours included an electric baseboard heater. The house we are told is kept at 65 degrees, which for us is fine, but we were in control of the electric baseboard heater and were quite comfortable during our stay. The sheets were soft and clean. Six pillows were on the King bed, one blanket and a bedspread. A lamp and side table are on each side of the bed. As it's an old house plugs were limited but were enough for our needs. Room six at the end of the second floor hall has a bathroom with two shower stalls located next to, not in, the room. A privacy curtain can be pulled over the end of the hall to shield you from the other guests as you move between the room and the bathroom. I think it was room five (not sure here) had a glass enclosure inside the bedroom to serve as the bathroom divider. As an historic building, there is only so much you can do accommodate a bathroom in each room and they have done what they could to give each room it's own facilities. As several rooms were unoccupied I did check out several other guest rooms. Some sleep two, some three. Each had at least one comfortable chair. The third floor is set up like an apartment and would be a good rental for family members or a group. Bedrooms 7, 8 and 9 are on this level, as well as the shared bathroom, living room and kitchen. Breakfast is not included, but there are several small businesses in the area where you can get coffee and breakfast. The local market, just up the road from the Inn, offers breakfast sandwiches and coffee at the back. Bellows Falls has two coffee shops and a diner (closed Monday) and Grafton also offers dining options. During our visit several locals were visiting with the caretaker on the porch. The porch has a variety of seating options on two sides of the house. It really is a good spot to sit a spell, visit with the locals and enjoy a Spring evening in VT. No frills, but if you are hoping to visit this beautiful area of VT without busting the bank, this could be a good option. Taxes add about twenty dollars to the on-line room price.

We…read morepicked the Grafton Inn since the reviews were good, the menu was interesting and the prices reasonable, plus they were open on weeknights. Reservations are easy to make online. Getting there proved a bit challenging when Google Maps routed us on State Route 121 which has some unpaved sections; luckily going back was easier using Route 35 to Route 11. Arriving at Grafton the first impression was of a classic New England Inn with a welcoming glow on a cold winter night. Entering through the B&B lobby had a great warm and comfortable feeling. The feeling of history is reflected in sign over the front desk showing the many prominent guests who have stayed over the years. The restaurant is classy, burgundy-colored walls with white trim and classic fixtures; a wonderful upscale dining room without being stuffy. They even had live music with a guitarist playing soft rock. Our server was very nice, professional and attentive. The menu combines classics and some interesting touches, I ordered the Bouillabaisse and my friend ordered the Caesar Salad and Chicken Wings. Our food came out quickly. The Caesar salad was huge, the wings were tasty and a generous portion. My Bouillabaisse was excellent a nice tomato and fennel broth loaded expertly prepared scallops, shrimp, mussels and a large fish fillet. The highlight were the large sweet perfectly seared scallops, but all of the seafood were delicious. For me this was a Pescetarian dream dish. We were persuaded to order dessert my friend got the Apple Pie and I got the Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. Both desserts were sweet and satisfying, a great way to end a wonderful meal. I would strongly recommend having dinner at the Grafton Inn, the food, service and atmosphere are great, prices are reasonable for what you get. This was a perfect way to top off our ski trip with a superior culinary experience.

This was not comfortable. Many tables were occupied so we couldn't move to another table. Food: The menu is somewhat limited. Since there is only one kitchen, they use the same menu for both the 1801 tavern and the connected PhelpsBarn. That's not a bad thing but it just depends on whether you are looking to Dine or Eat. Chicken Wings app was good, not great. Give it a 7. I ordered the $40 filet mignon. I asked for MEDIUM RARE with emphasis on medium rare. It came out medium then the residual heat made it close to medium well. Disappointing. The waitress (Joann and trainer Hannah) asked how I liked the filet. I gave an honest answer that I was disappointed in the meal. I give honest opions since this is the feedback they need to make improvements where necessary. I did not ask, but Joann took the filet off the bill. My wife got the lamb chops. The two large chops were very good. Cooked perfectly. Their salads are quite good. Their Caesar salad is beautiful and plentiful. They do have a semi limited stocked bar in the tavern. Mostly average stuff. I did find and bought Remy Martin Cognac for my digestif. The food wait staff are all very helpful and pleasant. Joann and Megan are very very nice. Nice active fireplace in the sitting room. Our Presidential suite was quite clean and comfortable. Breakfast dining area was cool. Most folks were wearing heavy sweaters or jackets. Really!! Robbie at the front desk is nice and helpful. Angela is the innkeeper and runs a tight ship. I think we caught the 1801 food preparers on an off night. This, in no way, will change our opinion of this charming Inn. We will return.

It was much more money. I figured I'd get a better rate because my husband was a disabled. I went to the actual website for the hotel itself in Springfield and the people that answer the phone and I don't remember her name right now, but she was amazing so helpful. Help me get straightened out help me to rebook the reservation, but then now is fast forward to yesterday. I came into the hotel. I was greeted very nicely by this beautiful smell in the hallway Like a pine tree Christmas tree good thing which I didn't know was an air freshener I thought at first was the Christmas tree in the hallway.. The girl at the front desk, Emily she was just filling in for her mother, which I didn't know that at first, but she was very professional very outgoing greet you. Good evening welcome when you come in the door explain who I was what I needed she ends up being able to give me a room like two doors from the actual entrance at the back at the handicap entrance. So my John didn't have to walk too far since you don't been sitting for almost 3 hours in the car to get here. It was tough so then we got the wrong. I got settled came down and asked her several questions she had no problem the girl that was doing the cleanup she her name was Donna. She was working and it was her birthday like hello don't even take your birthday off wow I then talk with her for a bit to explain some things about the hotel. Everything is fresh clean bright it's beautiful. I'm sure it looks just as good when it's not decorated for Christmas as it does today it's all decorated people, Christmas, decorations and trees and bows and this fake present under the tree. Everything was just amazing so far so now I'm having breakfast and I got to sleep late for the first time, I can't say how long but breakfast has it starts off with a waffle station then it has four different kinds of fresh juice then it has a cooler that has chocolate milk in it. It has fresh yogurt, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, regular sticks of cheese then they have cold cereal. They have hot cereal. They have fresh yogurt that you can make buffets with they have things and stuff they have three kinds of fresh fruit. They have a bread station that has bagels and English muffins and toast in it with peanut butter and jelly butter Have a microwave for heating. Then their hot station has bacon and sausage, and it also has cheese omelettes and scrambled eggs this morning if two kinds of fresh coffee, hot water for coconut tea. I mean, if you can't find something for breakfast here to eat then you have a problem I had a fresh buttermilk waffle with bacon. Everything looks delicious. Looks amazing fresh I mean this has been absolutely my number one experience in hotel and the best Western of all the times I've stayed I really enjoyed this one if they were all cookie cutter, I would be doing great. I think at one time we did stay at one of the one in Pennsylvania, and that was fantastic as well, but it's nice. You can go more than one and more than one state and it's just the same. I will definitely be back here again up here for a friendly family party tonight, but we're staying till tomorrow so we can have a real short brief vacation and get some sleep without eating anyways and being bothered and stuff. it's also literally a stone stove from the highway exit you cannot go wrong by coming off and using this as a rest stop is definitely something you should come to check out is not till 12 so I mean you have no excuse not to lay in bed. Take your time get some breakfast go back and relax and everything is just top-notch here. Also forgot to put up top all the employees address so professional in the beautiful royal blue best western shirts, nice pair of black pants and sneakers also into a swimming pool, which I'm sure we won't get time to use this time as we're getting super late last night and my husband was very tired and pain and today we have the party, but I will definitely come back and try the pool next time

Definitely not because if you find yourself in the sweet little town of Granville, NY, you're in for a treat: Mickey and Wayne have put their heart and soul into renovating the old Granville train station into a stunning bed and breakfast, the Station House B&B. When we arrived late in the evening to check in, Mickey was there to greet us and make us feel at home. And her kindness and grace poured over into every detail: from the historic photos, to the antique tables and chairs, to the timely holiday decorations, to the abundance of mugs and tea, which were always available. For which I say thank you! Because we were traveling in a party of 8, we occupied 4 of the 5 rooms, which was fantastic because that afforded us the opportunity to glimpse each cozy space. Three of the rooms have their own bathroom, but two have a shared bathroom. For us, it was no problem since we were all family. This one minor detail is something to consider when selecting your room. Each space is unique, from the name to the decor. Every detail is thoughtfully selected and creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you're coming home each night. Although the walls were a bit thin in our room, the Ticket Office, James F and I slept like rocks, we were so comfy! But it doesn't end there. Gotta get to the breakfast part, of course! Coffee was always ready at 7AM and breakfast at 8AM each morning. Well, oftentimes breakfast was waiting for us well past 8AM because some of our group are late risers. And my god, the breakfast spread presented each morning was fantastic: tea, coffee, orange juice, pancakes, french toast, bacon, ham, pastries, yogurt, pudding, it goes on! Basically, everything to keep our bellies happy and ready for the long days ahead. Truly, what hospitality! To Mickey and Wayne: thank you for creating such a friendly and beautiful B&B! As I sit and type this back in Denver, I'm longing for that wonderful breakfast spread! It was truly a pleasure to stay at the Station House B&B.

We totally can't wait to come back again. Love the place and owners!
