Some nice items for your beach house!
    Phuong T.

Best Salvation Army Thrift Store I've ever shopped at. Walk into this place and you'll experience a sensory overload. Beautiful oak, mahogany, cherry, and wicker tease the eye and every kind of furniture in between can be had. It's all beautifully curated and staged. Children's section, gently used appliances, and things arranged according to style: Mid-Century Modern, West-Indies, Tropical Beach, Farmhouse Country, Oriental, and so on. There's a very nice kitchen section for small appliances, bakeware, glassware, etc. Jewelry up front and curios, and bric-a-brac fill every available nook and cranny. Nice book section w a comfy leather love seat. There's a dedicated year-round Christmas section for holiday freaks. I don't come here for clothing so sorry that I can't offer my perspective. I've come upon some very nice treadmills, high-end air purifiers and bicycles, fancy microwaves and a nice wine cooler. What you see on the floor is only a fraction of what they have in storage. It's quite amazing the different selection of things you will find here on each visit. Don't come here expecting a bargain but don't leave thinking you won't find a good deal either. I find that things are priced fairly for a high-end thrift store and like most places, they refer to eBay as their Kelley bluebook.

Donated items are given to individuals and families in the community in need and profits are distributed through the church charities. To date they have donated more than $1 million to charities that provide human services locally and globally. They have also partnered with 30 local Collier County charities including Neighborhood Health Clinic, Healthcare Network of SW Florida, Meals of Hope, Baby Basics, Echo, Dental Outreach, Grace Place, Literacy Volunteers, and Habitat for Humanity. I was pleasantly surprised to see the store was much larger than I thought it would be from the outside. Several rooms are filled with gently used furniture, a ladies boutique with name brand and designer clothing, accessories, men's clothes, children's clothes, jewelry, art, holiday decorations, books, and more. Prices were great and I loved the selection of like new merchandise. The volunteers were so friendly. Furniture prices are negotiable and they were having an additional sale on select items. Hours are rather limited, they are only open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10-3 so it makes it difficult to shop here if you have to work more traditional 9 to 5 weekday work hours. In any case I am glad that I finally got to stop in and support the great work that they do for this community.

I was greeted warmly as soon as I walked in the door. St. Matthews had two large rooms. The first room had furniture, appliances, sports equipment (they had a ton of golf clubs out front), and household goods. The second room was filled with clothing and accessories. Everything is in great condition and set up in inviting displays. St. Matthew's House began in 1987 when a group of Naples church members calling themselves the Homeless Task Force started bringing food to a homeless group living in a nearby wooded area. They started out by gathering food and clothing to help people and today have grown into a large ministry helping thousands of people in the Naples community each year. Operating expenses are covered by their businesses and one hundred percent of public donations goes directly into helping those who need it the most. This ministry takes it's name from bible verse Matthew 25: 35-36, 40 "For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." St Matthew's provides programs to help people transition from homelessness to self sufficiency. The Immokalee Friendship House provides shelter to the homeless and over 25,000 meals a year. Justin's Place Feeding Ministry has been serving meals to the hungry for 25 years and more than 20,000 meals are served each year. Wolfe Apartments offers transitional housing to male clients of the Justin's Place Recovery Program which helps men and women fight drug and alcohol abuse. Programs are funded by proceeds from thrift stores located in Naples, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, and Immokalee. You can also support the worthy mission of helping people at St. Matthew's House by shopping their thrift stores. donating your furniture, hiring their catering company, and using their hand wash and detail center.

The other day I was shopping and a women next to me said she had been coming here for 12 years and she said the pricing is getting out of control. Very disappointing. Some of the brand names I saw included Louis Vuitton, Coach, Kate Spade, Prada, Chanel, and a large selection of Lily Pulitzer. The owner Bonnie was very friendly and she explained to me how the pricing works. Clothing is priced based on how long it is in the shop. A Patricia Nash purse I liked was priced at $129 but if it is still here in December it will sell for $90. If you can't make it to the store in person the Designer Consignor Consignment has an Instagram account you can follow that features some of their best items including that turquoise leather purse. Another adorable bag that caught my eye was beaded to look like a watermelon making it the perfect summer picnic outfit accessory. There is a dressing room area in the back of the store so you can try on clothes. They also sell shoes and other accessories. You can bring in your gentle used and mint designer items to sell for a split of the profits.
