Famous for their steak and cheese subs since 1974. I ordered a steak bomb sub with extra cheese, salt and pepper. The "bomb" includes onions, peppers and salami. I was blown away by how deliciously dangerous the steak bomb sub is. Absolutely filled with meat and big slices of green pepper. Perfect first experience. I came here a week later to try it again, and while it was still very good, the small seemed to have bites with more bread than meat. the large was better and stuffed for $1 more. large steak bomb sub 10/10 small steak bomb sub 7/10 It's a very old-school sub shop, and I'm happy they're still around. We've lost too many old-school, no frills spots with great food, to aesthetic places with mid food. I would prefer a place with great food that isn't the prettiest, over the heavily designed newer spots that have food that makes you wish you came to a place like Super Sub instead. Always very friendly staff, great old school subs, no wonder they won best of 2026, best sandwich. And many awards years prior! The owner is especially hospitable and I feel appreciated every time I come here. I misplaced my wallet once and thought I left it here (it wasn't, I found it), and they were very kind to try to help me find it. ambiance: 3.5/5 food: 4.3/5 service: 5/5 super sub/casual catering: 4.3/5

If you know, you know. The Modern Butcher's legendary North Shore beef sandwich is one of those…read morerare finds that absolutely lives up to the hype. I got there around 10:15 a.m. and there was already a line forming down the block -- by the time they opened at 10:45, the crowd was buzzing with anticipation (and caffeine). The staff moved things efficiently once the doors opened, and watching them prep those perfectly pink slices of beef in the open kitchen made the wait fly by. I ordered the North Shore 3-Way ($16.85 with tax): tender roast beef piled high on a fresh onion roll, dripping with just the right amount of BBQ sauce and mayo. Every bite was melt-in-your-mouth perfection -- smoky, tangy, and so ridiculously juicy you'll need a stack of napkins. The whole experience felt like a community event -- people chatting in line, the staff smiling despite the rush, and that unmistakable smell of beef and toasted buns filling the air. Come prepared to wait, but it's beyond worth it. Pro tip: get there before 10:30 on Saturdays if you want to score one without a massive queue. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. North Shore royalty.

So good. But let's talk about their coffee. Beverly has so many great coffee places and they are all good. Atomic is one of my top two places. Coffee is smooth, and consistently tastes the same which I admire. The wait staff is great. My pet peeve, is that they have all these signs that say that the booths are saved for 2 people or more, and there are often booths with just one person working. Yes, some are waiting for someone, but many are not. Just frustrating cause when it is busy and I want a booth for me and my friends, I want a booth. Ok I'm done. I think I prefer a bit more of a salty, juicy flavor to the meat, but it was still rare, just how I like it. The onion buns were a nice touch. My son ordered the kids menu hamburger. The waiter explained that this sandwich did not have lettuce and tomatoes, which I thought was nice of him to let us know. Since I was penny pinching, I said that was alright. The portion size on his plate was more than enough for a growing pre-teen.
