Randomly turned into this bar after leaving Old MacDonald farm because I was hungry. I was shocked when I entered to see that they were smoking indoors and there was no AC. It felt like 1995 but it was fun. It was super Smokey so We sat outside in the wide open, cute patio area in the back. The bartenders were unbelievably nice, the drinks were strong, delicious and CHEAP. 3 and 4 dollars for big shots with decent liquor. Effen for example. The menu is huge and has plenty of options for any diet; I'm a vegetarian and found a lot of fried foods that were all delicious. The friend green tomatoes, cheese curds and corn nuggets were outstanding, sooo good. Never again! I ordered a cob salad and the beef stroganoff everything was terrible! The salad was far from a cob salad with no dressing and the tomato was bad!! The stroganoff was made with Ziti noodles. I wasted my money and am not happy at all!! Just go on and shut down or stop selling what y'all call good if you're not going to have everything to make the items on the menu! Nice place, Alexis was an amazing and friendly bartender, this was my first time here and I felt right at home. Live music playing, dive bar feel, just right. 2 pool tables, shuffle board, a couple of video poker/ slot type of machines. I have driven by this little place for years. I have seen businesses come and go, nothing seems to last. I figured their place would be no different. A few weeks ago a friend had us go and we fell in love with the nachos, also the waitresses were so nice. Oh my gosh... the food y'all! The food here is freaking great! This is not your regular bar food. This was our second visit because we enjoyed the nachos so much. Upon arrival I was caught at the door by their current special, the Cajun Catfish, so we ordered it in addition to our nachos. We sat outside and we were pleasantly surprised by the fresh herbs growing all around. I spotted the chef retrieving some fresh herbs and as I was observing I saw our food coming out. The chef saw our food in its way to us and stopped the expeditor to take my food so he could add the fresh herbs. This shows how quality is important here and it is evident in every bite. My food arrived a few minutes later and I was shocked by how beautifully presented it was, my first bite lived up to the beautiful presentation. Ordered delivery from this place and it was awful. Fried green tomatoes were burnt on the outside, under cooked on the inside and tasted like mushy fried seafood. Also got the penne with shrimp and couldn't even eat it because it tasted sour and bitter. Maybe the burgers are better, but never going back. read more

Me and my wife went to this restaurant last week and the food was over cooked , it was very smoky inside to the point my eyes start watering , the waitress , acted like she forgot we was there and never checked on our food , now that I think about it I see why , the cook had to go to HEB , to get the items , for our food how I know that , was because when he came back he had the HEB bag in his hands and the chicken strips and other items in the bag going into the kitchen, and by the way how I know he was the cook , was because he was the one serving us the over cooked food , yes that's correct the same guy whom went out to get the food , was the same guy whom served us the over cooked food to our table , I would never in my life attend that establishment again , it made my wife stomachache , luckily I only took a small bite out of what I had it didn't affect me any ... the worst experience I ever at a restaurant/Bar ... the rusty nail I won't ever go back too nor recommend to my family no friends .. I just want to give a heads up to all military veterans who are thinking about going to any of Donny's bars; The Rusty Nail, Crazy Girl Saloon and Nowhere Lounge. I've been a regular customer for over 20 years through many different owners. I know there are a lot of vets who do frequent his bars and who haven't had to deal with anything like this before, but I did have to deal with it and I'm just telling you how I was dealt with by a patron, waitstaff and owner. I was enjoying my beer alone at The Rusty Nail this past Sunday afternoon minding my own business when a drunk and rude patron walks over to me and gets in my face and telling me I was a stolen valor Marine in front of the entire bar. I proudly served in the Marine Corps from 1989-1993. I will defend my service and my honor vigorously when approached sideways from anyone disrespecting me or my service. My reaction to this drunk accuser was entirely verbal and non- physical. A first for me in my 49 years on this Earth. To add insult to injury, while I'm defending myself from this drunk, the bar winch tells me to behave as if I started the confrontation. After talking to a few other bartenders I find out that this drunk patron is known to start trouble whenever he is there. And the owner knew this patron was a known troublemaker beforehand but still doesn't want to hear my side while treating me the same as the troublemaker. I am only known to mind my own business. I leave after being threatened to have the cops called on me! Once I arrive home I text the owner asking if he would call me so I can explain to him what just happened at his bar. He says he doesn't care to hear my side of the story and he doesn't care if I was in the military. If your bar displays all branches of the military service's colors then that would mean you care and support the military. By telling me you don't care about my service is contradictory. The bar winch even lies and says the only 2 women in the bar who weren't even involved with it were crying! I went to the bar a day later and 2 of the regulars were seated at the bar. I asked them if anyone was crying in the bar while I was there and when I left and they both said no. So now I have to defend myself against lies being told about me on top of it all. I understand why you wouldn't want any conflicts in your establishment, but don't make me out as the aggressor! Some people will say get over it and some people will say what I did was what they would have done. I really don't care what you would have done. I'll defend my honor when and wherever I want when someone gets in my face with clinched fists. Looking back now, I should have beat the shit out of the drunk instead of having to complain on here. read more

A coworker of mine recommended this bar. At first I was excited after hearing so many good things about this place. However, I quickly changed my mind when I saw two girls coming out of the kitchen laughing hysterically and going on about how they just urinated in the kitchen. I was appalled after further finding out that one of them was a bartender named Amber ( I assume she wasn't working, she seemed very intoxicated). Apart from absolutely no regard for social distancing guidelines, I found this utterly disgusting and inappropriate. Showed about 12:30 AM with Briana Dickens as my bartender. I asked for and got my drink for my friend and I & when I didn't have my card on me & walked outside to grab it, she took the drinks from my friend & idk? fucked them off ? Or something? I sat and waited and waited & waited for anyone even her or ANY OTHER BARTENDER to come up to me sitting at the bar and was there over an hour and had not received any service. I was out trying to have a good time with some friends and had to leave because of the shitty service. shitty bartender & I would say shitty drinks but they didn't serve me one.
