We went here during the daytime, late afternoon. The venue is a large space with two bars, indoor and one outdoor. They feature darts and a pool table on the inside with corn hole on the outside and live music occasionally. The bartender (José) and manager were welcoming and conversational while showing professionalism and genuine care. We played three rounds of pool and three rounds of cornhole. The pool table's felt has very low rolling resistance and is perfectly level, and they have well maintained pool sticks with chalk and powder for those with very moist hands. The whole venue is well built and has a lot of open space, with copious tables and seating. We will be back to Humble Backyard to have fun when it is jamming with people read more

We went and where should I begin??? I wanted to try this place since I heard of it a while back and since its around my old neighborhood I was so excited to finally go. I was definitely disappointed. We got there early and the place wasnt busy not even busy once people started showing up. Don't want to sound like a "Karen" but uff!! It was just bad. It took a while between drinks and don't get me started on the food. I thought service would pick up when we saw 1 or 2 other waitresses show up as time went by but it was the same. They said they had bartenders they had one inside and the 2nd one seemed more of a cook even cus she kept bringing food orders to tables vs wait staff. It was so slow that people were even going inside to get drinks/beer buckets and it seemed "faster" in some way. I was surprised how little the mimosa came with or maybe it was just the big glass. Micheladas weren't that great and idk what they use in it or on the rim but it had a crawfish seasoning taste to them. Same for their bloody Mary.For it to have too much on and in it it was very basic w/out flavor. When I saw how slow food was coming out I just decided to eat the slider that came with the Mary. OMG! This place has potential but, So, I attended 'backyard fest' . Some great bands were performing but this place was ill prepared for this event. The sound system for two stages came across as a cacophony of noise with the two stages to close together for any quality at all. Waitstaff was hard to locate and many menu items were 'sold out' by 5:00. Drinks were overpriced but the underage patrons didn't mind. I didn't really get a chance to taste the food because they had someone there giving out free crawfish and it's some of the best that I've had since New Orleans! Ok the cookers are amazing for tailgating but I am not sure I love the restaurant bar establishment. I think it's just too hot to sit outside and there no breeze or shade. You basically have to wait for the sun to go down then you can just deal with humidity. More working fans would be ideal. I basically come for the DJ and the Wednesday night steaks. I absolutely hate that I can't order until 6pm, the line is long, its hot as hell as I have to wait at least 1.5 hours to get my steak and potato. If you get lucky. If you come too late no potato or may be no steak. First come first serve. The only enjoyable part of this misery is the DJ plays very good music - mixture of all the right genre's and best hits of all generations. As I complain, the only thing that makes it all this worthwhile is the staff and that damn steak! It's amazing and keeps me going back and putting myself in this sketchy sauna to wait lol. My family and I visited this place a few weekends ago around 4/5 pm. They have an upstairs area, patio with games and an inside area with pool tables. I can't speak for night time but during the day it is definitely kid friendly. I can't remember our waitress name but she was awesome! The food was really good. I enjoyed the lemon pepper wings and I had the buffalo sauce on the side. The birria tacos and birria ramen were really good but the ramen is spicy! We tried a little bit of everything. The drinks are okay. The rum punch was a little sweet for me. The house margarita is okay. I was adding a shot of grand marnier to add some kick. The gummy bear shots were good as well. This place is pretty cool, huge outdoor area covered in decking with a big beautiful tree smack dab in the middle. Plenty of places to sit and still see the stage where they have live music on a schedule. If you seat yourself you will eventually be greeted by a waitress to take your order. The food is good but my favorite thing is the atmosphere, kind of like being in a backyard with hanging lights and music and picnic tables. This would be a cool venue for a wedding. We were invited by friends for their special steak and pork chop night. It was our first time here and we had a great experience. The energy from the DJ and people around talking, laughing, dancing and enjoying their time was such a good vibe. The crowd was so diverse, I love it. No messy drunks, no trouble, just everyone having a good time. The place was busy and you definitely need to have patience for the food and drinks, even the waiters who occasionally forgot our requests. Glad we came with friends who are regular customers here and know the loops in ordering ahead. The food was delicious, even though my steak was overcooked it was seasoned well. Next time, I know to get it a little undercooked like a medium rare. My husband was pleased with his pork chop and so was a friend who ordered another pork chop plate after trying his. The wings were on point too with crispy skin, tender and juicy inside (yup finger licking good). When I get a buzz on my first drink (and I'm not a light weight) I know the bartender didn't cheap out so much recognition to the bartender who knows how to mix a drink . I am in Houston only for one night and wanted to hear some live music last night after dinner. I was happy to find this place. It's such a cute place, it is sort of outdoors and it was a little chilly so I wish I would have had a sweatshirt or light jacket. The music was fantastic, it was AJ Santana. He was really great. There was only one server for the whole place so sometimes it took a little bit to get your drink. For my last drink I juts went down to the bar and got it, no big deal at all. The waitress and bartenders were very pleasant and nice. They have a GF cider on tap which was great because I get tired of places only having Angry Orchard. Since there weren't many people there, both of them were able to check in and make sure we had whatever we needed. The food was so good, definitely the best hot dog or burger in the area. We got the zucchini chips and mozzarella sticks. It all tasted great and was enjoyed again the next day as leftovers. They make substitutions or alterations on meals if needed, although I wouldn't recommend it on a busy night. Non-alcoholic drinks are a bit over priced. If you go solo you probably won't find a seat or will be awkwardly standing around without a table or chair. They have a semi-big beer menu with all mainstream craft beer. Nothing exciting. Draft was served in plastic. Great. For locals, this is sort of similar to Sams boat Richmond Ave. Overall, this is an immediate surroundings place, nothing worth traveling to or going out of your way for. This guy with dreads came outside called my name out and said that I'm not allowed back to his bar as I didn't tip. On my tab. We responded to tell him that we tipped our server CASH. And it just happened to see our server and explain to that we didn't tip on our tab. As we gave him cash. And we probably won't go back to this location for this reason. Like dude who are you to do that. And for context. My tab was 96.00 rounding it up and I tip the server 20.00 cash. So mathematically I gave our server 20%. So I'm going to think twice if I want to go back. So if you want to be called out in the parking lot by the bartender with dreads because you paid the waitstaff in cash and not on your card. I found this place by using Google maps and looking for barbecue near me. I'm from Atlanta and visiting. Food was really good, mostly Mexican but made with smoked meats. Prices were also reasonable. They have a huge backyard patio which makes me think they have a big clientele though it was quiet when we visited. I'd go back. Get the smoked wings too. read more
