    The band
    Anna L.

This place is literally across the street from the tattoo shop I was getting work done at so we stopped by. It looked like it was going to be empty until we walked inside and saw that the entire place was packed. There was a band playing apparently and we had no clue, we walked in while they were taking a break. We barely found a seat at the bar and were not greeted by either bartender nor did they make eye contact, it was odd. Finally the male bartender asked for our drink order then came back and said the total was $30...for two drinks, I was shocked. Without any explanation or even a hello..turns out he charged us a cover charge for a band we were clueless about...that was not a nice surprise and we ended up leaving before finishing the one drink each. Bad vibes for me and not my style of music either. Way over crowded and unfriendly, unfortunately I do not recommend this place.

Came here for a date night and loved it so much my boyfriend and I came back for New Year's Eve. Great music, and atmosphere. The owners are a married couple they are very personable, & helpful. If u could give them 10 stars I would.

I absolutely loved this place! Perfect little hometown bar that was once an old jail. Great live music on a nightly basis and the happy hour is awesome. Bartenders and patrons were fantastic and I really enjoyed just hanging out chatting with everyone. Owner is also a great guy! I highly recommend stopping by here if you're in town!

This place use to be a Jail in the 1930's and it has kept the original cell bars which is quite interesting. There is live music there and they play those old Blues which is really smoothing when you're having a couple of drinks. Great customer service from all the bartenders especially Angie, she's very accommodating and makes amazing strong drinks. Also the owners are there as well and they make you feel so welcomed. This place is very laid back, good vibes and plenty of people to chat with. This will be my go to spot from now on.

    Is smoking allowed inside? Thanks!

There’s is no smoking inside. We have a beautiful deck outside for anyone who needs to smoke.

    Is there a cover?

Generally, there is a cover on Friday and Saturday nights. Please check our calendar for details on the artist and cover amount. Also we sometimes schedule a special event on a Sunday or another weeknight, and then there might be a cover for that as…

What kind of live bands do you have?

Most of the bands are under the blues “umbrella”, which can vary all the way from the jazzy side to the country side. Most of the artists who we schedule have a social media presence so their music can be looked up on Facebook, their websites or on…

Does this tavern have trivia night?

No, we don’t have a trivia night. Thank you for asking. We have live music 6 nights a week and are closed on Mondays.

What time does the music start? Could we bring a kid and leave around 8?

Friday and Saturday nights the music starts at 9. Tues-Thurs it starts at 8. Sunday's music starts at 4. We are a tavern (bar), so the admittance is 21 +.

I've been to the original location in Spring Branch, but this was my first time visiting this location. The bar is located in a shopping strip off of 59. Parking is plentiful. Unlike the original location, you do not have to scan your ID (if you've been to the Spring Branch location, then you know what I'm talking about). It was pretty early on a Saturday evening, so it wasn't terribly busy. I sat at the bar. I don't know the bartender's name that served me, but she was nice. I ordered the Kingwood which is a gin based cocktail with cucumber. The drink was fine, but it was a little tart for my preference. A splash of simple syrup would have balanced it out. I did request for it to be less spicy (it has jalapeño in it). They have live music, though when I was there, they didn't have a band playing. They serve typical bar food like burgers, salads, and nachos. The vibe wasn't quite the same as the location in Spring Branch, but it was fine. This is a nice option for craft cocktails in Kingwood.

Ambiance: 5/5 Nestled in the shopping strip center off 59 HWY from the outside it blends until you notice the sign and you see "cocktail lounge" I believe it's a first the front of Kingwood and I got excited and had to stop in. Plenty of parking and casual attire is welcome. But if you want to don your full on spurs, Stetsons and swagger or your surf threads, go right ahead! Although I'm sure shirt and shoes are required and you'll probably get cold since there is no sun or waves inside. Once inside the theme is as the name of the bar is, Cowboys and Surfers. Plenty of seating from booths, tables and bar. And there's also pool table and shuffle board. There was a live band "Pack of Strays" playing and was enjoyable. The lounge has live music on certain days and a Happy Hour everyday from 4-7, so I will have to come back to check that out. Service: 4/5 I sat at the bar and bartender didn't really engage much, though I noticed him engaging with a couple of select groups. No I wasn't on my phone when I walked in, if anything I make it a point to be mindful when entering any place as to note my surroundings and also be able to tell what the vibe is like. Though the service wasn't necessarily anything noteworthy, which attention & engagement would've made the experience/review a 5, the drinks were specially crafted which takes mindfulness to make. Food/Drinks: 4/5 Their menu has multiple options when it comes to drinks and also offer some food selections. I didn't get to try the food, but saw some items that looked interesting and want to try. They also have a list of beers and wine, so again, something for every taste. For this visit I only had two drinks. Beach Break: 4/5 with choice of Gin or Vodka (I went with gin of course) it has a refreshing taste as it is shaken with fresh cucumbers and lime juice, it also has simple syrup. It was more tart than I would think it probably was going for. I did appreciate that they didn't go heavy on the sweetness, but would've liked it with agave as the fresh ingredients would go well with it. For my next visit I will likely ask to substitute with agave as they do have it and it was in my next drink. The Kingwood: 4/5 crafted with my favorite "Hendricks gin" and named after the neighborhood we live in, this cocktail is also refreshing and enjoyed more than the Beach Break. It went down easy, bartender did ask if I was good with the jalapeño that it's muddled with and this time I opted to only have it with muddled cucumber. Again refreshing and not tart so maybe this is the alternative to Beach Break. It is made with topo chico and Tajín rim. Overall it is a laid back environment, live music and the drink options are promising, it's a cocktail shop (candy shop). If you live in the area or find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and come kick up your boots and hang ten.

We were planning to get dinner at Pappadoux or Pappasito's, but when I looked them up on Yelp, the reviews were not great. Instead, I stumbled upon Letty's and called to see if they had room for our large group. They were incredibly accommodating, and they were able to seat the 13 of us together with only 30 minutes of notice. The decor was fun and beautiful, the food was fantastic (esp the ribeye appetizer,) but it was the staff / team who truly stood out and made our experience so fantastic. From the jefe holding the door open to welcoming us, to our server suggesting off-menu vegetarian options, we could hardly believe how welcome we felt. The restaurant was spacious, clean and incredibly chic / well designed and though we had already eaten too much earlier that day, the drinks and dinner had fantastic flavor, great portion sizes and most importantly.. they were served with so much love. Let me start by saying there is PLENTY of parking as it in a shopping plaza at the end. So when I arrived I came a sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender. There was a waitress and she stated I should order a Frozen Pineapple Margarita. It was sweet so probably wouldn't order it again. What I thought was good was there was a lot of wait staff around and the menu was HUGE. It appears what every day they have a food special around $11-12. There was a good amount of people in the spot as the ambiance looks like a typical sports bar. Currently it's hot but there is a patio outside that I plan to take advantage of later in the fall. I sat at the bar and order a six piece battered wing which was around $8-9. The flavors were barbecue and lemon pepper. I enjoyed the barbecue flavor as the sauce had a little kick but was good. Now I didn't like the lemon pepper. I think they fried the wing dings and sprinkled ALOT of lemon pepper. It was so salty I couldn't even eat it. I tried dusting it off but it was too much. Wouldn't recommend. Overall all I would be back maybe to get more of a bar experience as I think this spot has potential to be at least a 4 or 5. If you're in the area I'd definitely stop in.
