Chicken noodle soup & a warm mini loaf, bacon cheeseburger and fries

What a great lil place off the beaten path. Service was attentive and friendly. Whoever decorates does an amazing job, I love it. I had chicken noodle soup and a mini loaf of bread, which was absolutely delicious and hubby had a bacon cheeseburger which he loved as much as the french fries. This place is a gem, we'll be back on our travels.

I believe there is always a wonderful meal to be eaten at The Rusty Lantern! Today I had the Prime Rib French Dip with fries. So yummy! The beef was extra tender and very tasty. The dipping sauce was hot and delish for both the meat and bread. The bread was grilled before making the sandwich which made the sandwich twice as good. And as always the fries so good. My coffee cup stayed filled and same with the water due to good service. I was lucky to snag a booth during the lunch rush. I always enjoy the atmosphere at The Rusty Lantern...good old fashion great tasting country food well prepared and casual. They know how to treat customers well.

Come here for a Lovely dining experience. Cute and fun decorations inside and out. Great home cooked food. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Service was attentive and friendly. It's best to make a reservation so you don't have to wait. Come early on Friday's because the clam chowder and prime rib special has been known to sell out. They have a good and ever changing dessert menu. My parents loved the coconut cream pie. I loved the elderberry raspberry pie. This is a delightful place to go to if you are passing through or live in the area.

Oh yeah! This was a great lunch! I was surprised how many people flocked into this little diner, but when I started eating the French fries, it all make perfect sense! We were seated fast, the service here is fantastic, my cup was refilled so fast I was getting dizzy. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and it was good. Honestly it was a tad over cooked, but the toppings were delicious. The French fries stole the show. They were popping with flavor, they must have been deep fried in happiness! They were sooo good! Great service, good food, check them out when you are in the neighborhood!

This spot serves up a tasty and satisfying diner style breakfast, with all the standard diner staples done very well. Everything was tasty including the bacon and eggs, pancakes, and the extra large cinnamon roll, which was big enough for the whole fam. You can tell most people in there were probably regulars and they kind of gave us a longer than average glance when we walked in, but everyone was really friendly and welcoming. There's nothing fancy about this little joint, but the breakfast is definitely above average and I highly recommend coming here if you're ever in the area.

we really loved our experience. This is truly a hometown greasy spoon with an awesome vibe. The food is excellent. The service comes with a smile and is fast. Go Ucon Idaho!

While driving to Craters of the Moon from Yellowstone, we came here for breakfast because it was close to the highway. What a gem of a place. I had the pancakes with eggs and bacon. The pancakes were fluffy and some of the best I have ever had. The bacon was thick and flavorful. My wife had the skillet dish made with potatoes, eggs, bacon and covered with cheese. Hearty, flavorful and delicious. If you are ever close by and want a great meal come here and you'll leave full and smiling.

We followed it with the corned beef soup, which was more like a rich, hearty stew. The tender brisket literally melted in your mouth. And for the potato lovers--this place is heaven! Mashed, home fries, and balsamic fries... we just had to try it all. Even though we were completely full, we couldn't pass up GMA's "Slutty" Peanut Butter Brownie. Warm, topped with ice cream, whipped cream, cookie crumbles, Fruity Pebbles, fresh strawberries, and hot fudge... and yes, we finished it. Now we're officially in a food coma! A huge thank you to our Uber driver--and owner of the Yellowstone Motel--for recommending this unique spot. Between the amazing food and a fun LA born server it made for one of the most memorable dining experiences we've had in a long time. Thank you, Ava--we'll definitely be back!

April 2026 Idaho Falls, Idaho…read more I was surprised to see this place is attached to a hotel when I drove up. Typically I do not eat at restaurants that are attached to a hotel. However, Yelp told me it was a 4.3 star place to eat. I asked if they had any nonalcoholic beers. The waiter brings me a can of beer to show me what it is. When I tell him that I will have it. He says well I'll just take it back and put it in a glass. So they bring me a 16 ounce glass with the beer poured in and it only filled 12 ounces. I ordered the Nacho Mama's Dip. It is a chicken nacho dip. The waiter told me it was a large portion so I am eating that just as my meal. My husband ordered the fish and chips. When you walk in the front door, the bar is right there. Pretty large bar for one to sit and enjoy a drink or a meal. To the right our booths and high tables that line the wall as well as some booths in the middle of the restaurant that make you feel like you are sitting under a gazebo. There are tables and booths on the far wall as well. The tables are cut to appear like a live edge wood top table. The booths sit too low and the table sits high. Even my husband who is 6'2 felt an imbalance with the table to chair. My nachos come out and the cheese sauce is dripping off the side of the dish. It is an absolute mess. The nacho chips are off to the side. The toppings consist of black olives and onions with four pieces of diced tomatoes. Accompanied by a side plastic dish is salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. The guacamole is definitely not homemade. My biggest complaint is the cheese sauce is definitely from a can. The cheese that they did put on the nachos was a slice of cheese that was not even melted. See picture. Reminds me that I am eating in a restaurant attached to a hotel. There are no beans. The chicken is mixed in with the cheese sauce. And it is sparingly there. This dish is absolutely disgusting! The fish and chips were terrible. They're served in a basket with four pieces of fish and they sit upon fresh cut fries. The fish was not good. The batter has a odd taste. Perhaps the oil it is fried in? I think I would've been better off going to Culver's and having their fish platter. Although my beYr was in a can, it was very cold. It was truly the best part of my meal. I am so disappointed that yelp led me to this place. This is my warning to others. Stay away. We had two completely different meals and neither of them were good.

The food was good, but it was not worth the experience. If we knew it would take so long we would have gone somewhere else. The outside seating is comprised of patio tables and chairs lining the exterior of the restaurant. It was nice at first, but there's a bee that likes to fly around which even the server was familiar with. We did outdoor seating and getting there at sunset we were sitting there in the dark with barely any light by the time our food arrived (almost two hours to get all our food for a party of four - 4 entrees and 2 appetizers total). The service was friendly but it was awkward seeing some people getting served even when they were seated after us. I loved the chicken wellington and would say that is the most unique dish at their restaurant. The food is overall good quality but this restaurant is probably better catered for pairs who are looking to celebrate a special event together. Indoor seating preferred over Outdoor seating.

Decided to stop in on a whim as we were not feeling all the touristy dinner spots in West Yellowstone. It was a weekday and we arrived an hour before closing without a reservation... it was packed, but a few tables looked open. However, they told us they weren't sure if we'd get a table since there were other parties waiting. We decided to take a flier and wait anyway since it was late. 20 minutes later, we were seated. Our server was very chipper and friendly, gave recommendations, and was proactive about letting us know what they'd run out of. (In my opinion, a place that runs out of some ingredients is a signal that they serve things fresh or not at all, a green flag.) My partner and I each got a variety of the chicken sandwich, while our friends shared the steak. Portions were large, chicken and steak was cooked appropriately, and the fries were some of the best any of us have ever had. All in all, we were glad we decided to forego the tourist traps closer to the park entrance. Anglers Riverfront was wonderful. We were even lucky enough to glimpse the sunset across the river while we ate, and we left happy with full bellies just before they closed up for the night. Would definitely stop by again next time we find ourselves in Island Park. Thanks so much for the hospitality, Anglers team.
