    Gator Nachos

Right when we stepped foot into this hip joint, Chris S. Was super welcoming and made us feel right at home. I'm gluten free and he went out of his way to get me grilled gator instead of fried and they made me gator nachos which were amazingly delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant if you want great food with the most authenticity and genuinely fantastic service.

    Étouffée

Ambience was fine. Server was friendly. I ordered the andouille sausage, chicken étouffée. I lived in Louisiana for a few years and I've never had an étouffée anything like that. Never did find the chicken that was supposed to be in it. The sausage was cut up in little bitty pieces and wasn't much of it either. Too much tomato in it. Way overpriced for what it consisted of. I couldn't eat it. I was very disappointed. But we did enjoy the Cajun egg-rolls.

    Grilled Chicken with French fries.

We really enjoyed our visit here. Food was great and large serving size. If we're back in the area we'll go again.

I never would have it known it was a brand new business if I hadn't heard about the opening from a friend... they are killing it in their first week! The croffles & drinks I split with my friend were all delicious, & I especially loved the details in both restrooms, but was inspired by the Community Room message and vibe. On their website, Urban Brew says "We believe it takes a village to raise a child. While this is such a common saying, very few businesses actually implement this into their business model. Our Coffee Shop was designed with your family in mind. YOU CAN SIP WITH US." And I truly felt that. While I do not have children, I was a choice-based art teacher & am familiar with the Montessori/ student-led mindset/ imaginative play, & it makes for a warm, energy-rich atmosphere, where I felt like a regular surrounded by friends. I highly recommend you visit, ASAP!

I didn't care for the taste, and I'm not sure if I made a bad selection or if the taste was off. The foam on top was an odd consistency and the bottom of the drink was gritty with coffee grinds. The concept is interesting, as they have a play area for kids with several tables nearby. Then they have a room with sliding doors to the side that is a quiet space. The space was wide open and nicely done, however it is so loud and all you can hear are the kids using the play space. The service wasn't particularly welcoming and I thought the pricing was high for the area. My medium drink was over $8. I can appreciate what they are trying to do, but I don't see myself returning.

    Corsair Cafe - Quesadilla Cheeseburger

A little overdue on this and was mindful to write this review before I go back to the Corsair Cafe…read moresomeday. A tiny spot located at the TH Regional Airport, if it not for my quest to weed places like this out, the average person would not know this was here. Off the beaten path for someone not using the actual airport. In addition to the small cafe serving sandwiches, soup, coffees and the like, the Corsair Cafe is packed full of plane paraphernalia, toys, books and gadgets. If you have a kid interested in planes or flying, you need to get over here to fill their Christmas list. Model airplanes, books, bags, t-shirts, games....lots of stuff all about flying. Nick nacks and trinket stuff too. I brought my parents out here for something different. The lunch was OK and reasonably priced. They featured a pull pork sandwich for $5 the day we were there that my dad said was not half bad (a city girl like me was taken back by the low price). We were the only ones in the cafe when we were there. There are Adirondack like, wooden chairs and picnic tables outside to maybe sit, have an ice tea and watch planes come in and out and move about (not sure how much action this airport gets on any given day, I am guessing not a lot). So nothing incredibly unique going on in the food realm hear other than a decent well priced uneventful menu, but a unique atmosphere that if you caught on the right day might be a nice spot to see some plane activity while enjoying a bowl of soup and a lemonade.

Corsair has coffee drinks and serves breakfast and lunch. My food was delicious. I had the pork tenderloin and was quite happy. My son had eggs, hash browns, sausage and toast and said it was good. I will agree with other reviewers that the staff did not seem overly happy to be there. They seemed annoyed at customers. We received our food without getting our drinks. When I went up to ask for our drinks, they seemed like this was a big inconvenience. The glass on the windows was also so dirty that it was hard to watch the planes take off. It was still a fun place, I just had my expectations too high.

From the moment you walk in, the space feels calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed for both people and cats. The coffee is excellent and clearly made with care, but the real magic is spending time with the cats. They are well cared for, playful, and relaxed, which says a lot about how the staff runs the space. The team is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about animal welfare. They take the time to answer questions about the cats and the adoption process without any pressure. Whether you are looking to adopt, need a peaceful place to sip coffee, or just want a mood boost from being around cats, The Catmosphere delivers. You leave feeling happier than when you arrived. Highly recommend supporting this amazing spot.

I love the Catmosphere. I love them because of the good work this business model is doing for…read moreplacing cats from shelters in homes. In addition to this being a uniquely cool concept that successfully grew root in Terre Haute, not to mention in the neat 12 Points area of town. Now I have been to several cat cafes around the planet (even an owl cafe in Tokyo and a rabbit cafe in Hong Kong). Cat cafes in and of themselves are what they are. Kind of smell like cats, kind of have subpar food/drink offerings. Only cat people really go to these kind of places, right? But then I enter the Catmosphere. Not going to lie, I just love the name. Super catchy and also flows off my tongue like a script from Star Wars, which kind of makes me giggle. You can come to the "Cafe" portion of the Catmosphere and simply buy a coffee or snack and sit in the cafe, read, play a board game, chill or hang out. I think they are getting their footing regarding the F&B portion of their offerings, but for now there is not anything exceptionally noteworthy in this department. But the coffee we ordered was freshly brewed and hot. Coming to cafe is free, just buy some food and beverage item. It will cost you $12 to go inside the actual "Catmosphere." $12.50 when booked on-line to include the tax charge of a credit card. After securing a spot on-line for me and my parents to visit one random Wednesday afternoon a few weeks ago, we enter the two door security system to ensure no felines get out. We are verbally presented with a few ground rules before we go in from staff. Now, like all animal cafes, one is hit with the smell of cats immediately upon entering. No escaping that with between 18-25 cats possibly around on any given day. But the room itself you can tell is cleaned and these cats are clearly cared for as exemplified in the bounty of cats who are happily lounging, prancing and playing about. They disguise the liter boxes behind their couches, so I barely know they are there. The room is fun. The owner Jade and the employee Storm (student from ISU) are here on this day and they seem happy we are here. Jade is manning the cafe part and Storm is helping engage kitties and patrons in the actual Catmosphere. These two woman clearly have a love of animals and want to place these cats in good homes. And quite honestly, with like 160+ adoptions in their short 9 or 10 months of being open, they are doing an excellent job. There are photos on their Instagram feed and also in the cafe showing all the happy cats with their new humans. This spot allows you to really get to understand and see a cats personality. I would strongly suggest making a reservation on their website, for they limit the number of people that can be inside the Catmosphere at any time. A nice woman and her daughter were turned away to a later time slot when we were there checking in because all the bookings were sold out for the 2pm hour that day. It was a Wednesday, not even a busy weekend. Their website also posts the other fun things they are doing here like "Yoga with Cats for Kids," "College Study Sessions," and "Adults Only time." They get creative marketing points for making opportunities for people to engage with cats and cats to engage with humans, which makes cats more easily adoptable once they are use to being around people. It is such a nice space with lots of seating and even an TV area for kids. Lots of cat toys about to interact and play. The best $12 you can spend for an hour to relax and lower your blood pressure by simply being around, petting and playing with cats. Now sure, the ultimate goal is to place cats in good homes, but you can easily just come and be a visitor, not an adopter. They have limited hours and are not open every day. I think they get new cats in on Mondays and Tuesdays. They pull cats from the shelter in Terre Haute and also other counties/communities surrounding the Vigo county area. What great partnerships to place cats! So I personally think Wednesday might be the best day to visit, but that is just my opinion. They sell cat related stuff in their little shop area and also have a frequent visitor punch card (with every 9 visits, get the 10th visit free....the 9th Life Loyalty program...witty!). The Catmosphere is checking every marketing box in my head....F&B, creative selling point, open space, hospitality, frequent shopper card, kind staff. I am on a plane as I type headed back to Terre Haute to see my folks. I have already secured our second visit to the Catmosphere tomorrow because my parents want to find their forever furry friend and this seems like the perfect venue to make that possibly happen.
