Megan B was our waitress and she was super nice. I took her advice and got the cod sandwich. It was really good, 2 big pieces of cod on a huge roll that was delish. Hubs had the burger special. Very nice burger. Their salad bar looked good but we did not have it. Sadly, we were too full to try the pies read more

WOW FACTOR? Yes, just a old-fashioned, comfortable restaurant with great service. HAVE AGAIN: I don't recall what I had but it was very good and the three of us had great lunches for just $45. read more

Waiter was very nice and fast. Food arrived fast and hot. There were 10 of us and we were all pleased. There were so many cars in parking lot I thought it would take forever to get our food. I was wrong. Very clean and friendly place to eat. read more

Shitty service, bad food quality, forgotten items.... this place is losing the at home touch.

A friend took me to lunch today. He recommended mama's. He had the cheeseburger and seasoned fries. He said it was good. I ordered the half order of beef Manhattan. It was just OK. The beef was not tender very chewy and the interior of the Manhattan was not hot. You could tell that the mashed potatoes were not homemade. But I did have the salad bar. Pictures are attached in this review. Wonderful salad bar. Lots of variety. Go back as many times as you like there's even a lot of protein on the salad bar. We also had an appetizer the breadsticks with pepperoni in them with the cheese dipping sauce, which was very good. The service was OK. We had to get the waitresses attention a couple times to get refills and she was slow getting back to us to take our order from the initial contact. read more

I love this place. They make you feel like family. And the food....pure comfort food. We sat on Pappa's side - that's the bar for 18 and older. The bar is dated, and filled with gregarious regulars eating fried catfish and sipping "fishbowls". Fishbowls are huge glasses of beer. A Sunking Weemac in a fishbowl is $6.50 and where else are you going to find one of those? They serve about 20 different beers that are listed on a board. On Friday night, most tables are full, but we find a booth and order our fishbowl. "Pappa" walks through occasionally checking on the thermostat and greeting patrons. The room has a fun energy. The menu is a mix of burgers, po boys, fried fish, amazing looking salads and more. I never get off the appetizer page...they had me at Fried Oysters "make it a dinner" with choice of sides. A big bowl of hand battered oysters comes out with cocktail sauce. The oysters are bursting with flavor. I choose the marinated cucumbers and cole slaw as sides. Both sides are handmade, slightly sweet and delicious. My husband has the Oyster Po Boy with fries. The bread is like a flatbread, delicious and crusty. The fried oysters are topped with lettuce. It's a winner of a sandwich. The fries are fresh cut and very good. We didn't stop there. Homemade deserts were listed on a board. There it was "Homemade Persimmon Pudding." Wow! Whip cream? Yes! The portion was generous, sharable. The pudding reminded me of a fine pumpkin pie, but with persimmons. Michele, our server, was fantastic. She was friendly and made recommendations. Food came out quickly. She checked on us regularly. 5 star service. On the other side on the restaurant is family friendly.... Momma's side. There are booths filled with families. There is also a covered patio outside with a few folks sipping fishbowls with their trusty canines at their feet. Momma's and Pappa's is a fun place with great comfort food in the heart of Indiana. read more

Never did get service. Left before anyone gave us a menu. Felt invisible so we went to another restaurant. It's more of a bar than a restaurant to me. More of a pick your food up place then sit down to eat ? read more

Best food for your buck. Salad bar is full of proteins and soups. Great sweet tea. Cute waiter. Wonderful place to eat. #1 fried mushrooms. Oh and sweet tea to match a southern sun tea. read more

Discovered this gem when searching for good tenderloins. We were not disappointed. The tenderloin was perfectly crisp and delicious! Cole slaw for a side was diced and very flavorful! They also have a salad bar which was stocked and had a lot of variety. They cut up the lettuce and even added sliced pepperoni! We will definitely be back when in the area! read more

Excellent service by Kennedie. Delicious food too. You can even go by yourself. They have a salad and soup bar if you're into that and everything in the menu for all ages and dietary restrictions. I tell everyone to go before they leave town. I'll be back next time I'm around. Thanks for your hospitality. read more

Great food great customer service the last time I was in there it was a order to go and it was awesome

This is the kind of local restaurant that no longer exists in many towns, with an expansive menu and reasonable prices. While they had the typical fried delights, such as tenderloins (which was delicious), they also have solid options for those who are gluten free. And did I mention their steaks? Especially noteworthy was the friendly service. read more

What a great family restaurant. The prices are good and they are well staffed and attentive. The food was really good all the way around. This is for sure a place Bedford can be proud of. Be sure to stop here when you are in town or passing through. read more

The food is excellent. The staff is always friendly and professional. The dining area and restrooms are extremely clean.

So we are here twice in the week we were staying in the area. First time - everything was great! Ribeye cooked to perfection - medium rare, good steamed greens, fresh salad, cheese curds were fried in clean grease. And staff was friendly! Second time- we ordered the same stuff. But we received sirloins instead of ribeyes, green beans were very very salty. The steaks were swapped out and apologized over. Overall. You've got a 50/50 chance of getting the correct steak according to my experience. I take that as it's a hit n miss restaurant. Sometimes on point- other time ya wish you went somewhere else. read more

Very nice. Just not a five star restaurant, but good food, attentive staff, and somewhat reasonable prices considering the recent inflation increases. We had to wait a few minutes to get a seat, they were very busy, which is a good sign that many people like to eat there. read more

We met my sister and her husband there last Saturday for lunch. Was it a throw back to the Rock and Rock group with appropriate music? dream on. no mama Kass Elliott. no nostalgic music. rather a husband and a wife who merged two restaurants, the mommas and the Pappas, into one, hence the name. The staff was very good and the food was good. If I I am in Bedford I might try them again. read more

Poor quality in food which is a consistent theme in Bedford. Good salad bar which is only soup and salad.

For a hole in the wall, off the beaten place kind of restaurant this place was fantastic. While working our way down to French Lick from Greenwood, we got hungry while in the Bedford area and settled on checking this place out. Learning they had a salad bar was the tipping point and it didn't disappoint. Not only was the salad bar bountiful and clean, they also have a soup of the day. The soup was some of the best tomato bisque I've ever had!!! In addition to the soup and salad bar, we ordered the chicken tenders. Hands down the best chicken tenders I've ever had. The chicken was tender and juicy with the breading light and crispy. Our server was friendly, but did seem a little more focused to a table next to ours with all men sitting at it. I bet she thought 3 older ladies would be cheap with our tipping compared to the men. We still tipped her very well - but she could've been a little more attentive. I wasn't good about getting any photos, but this place is worth checking out it in the Bedford area. Oh, one last note; they have a bar side (on the right) and a restaurant side (on the left). The restaurant side is brighter and a better ambiance. The bar side is darker and well, like a typical bar. read more

I had the chicken teriyaki rice bowl. Nothing special but the broccoli was crispy and fresh which I enjoyed that it wasn't overcooked. Husband had the Supreme nachos which we had to ask for jalapenos. Really all nachos should have jalapenos. He said that some of the chips were tough but overall was tasty. We did pickup so can't review the location. read more

Meh.... That's all it can muster up. Average but could do better. Food is so-so, service is okay and nothing special on atmosphere.

Your food depends on what you order and when, I guess??? I ordered 1/2 rack the wife NY Strip. My ribs tasted like they was last night's ribs heated up in the microwave today. Three visits in a row with subpar to downright terrible service. The food is fantastic and the only reason I come back but I think I will just get it to go next time. The last visit after delivering boxes our server vanished for 15+ minutes while we were waiting to pay and leave. I nearly walked out being tired of standing there with my kids.
