We dined on a Sunday and the atmosphere was slow, including the service. During our dining experience I only received 1 refill of water...after I asked for it. All of the wait staff seemed to walk around with an obtunded look on their faces in need of constant reorientation. Towards the end of our meal, Without explanation our waitress carried on serving other customers leaving us in the dust. What was weird was our server pointing to another server seemingly saying "I'm busy but they'll take care of you" but the other server did not "take care of us" and we were sitting wondering who was going to provide us with our check. read more

All the food was great, service was good but the wait was long! The good thing is the kids had plenty of space to run around while we waited and we were able to have drinks at the outside bar so that made the time not seem as long. read more

Very cool spot. The bar is huge so no problem with drinks. I came on a saturday night during a basketball game so it was extremely busy but was still able to get a table for 9 with a 20 min wait. This food was awesome the roasted artichike was great and the tomahawk steak a was crazy huge and delicious. Come here for great atmosphere, good drinks and food. read more

Alissa Prieto was a great host. Very attentive and nice. The beer chicken Mexican candy was awesome. read more

This has to be my favorite place in Houston so far. I was in awe with the atmosphere. The place is huge, they have two bars and a combination of inside/outside sitting. The live music was great and loud w ouch to amplify throughout the establishment but not loud enough that we couldn't enjoy great conversation while dining. There were families with their children, couples on dates and friends sharing a great time. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy live music while having fabulous drinks and delicious food! Everything tasted amazing! read more

This was our first visit to The Rustic since moving to Houston. We went for the live music and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. They have the usual Texas delicious looking fried fare but we enjoyed the healthier options offered. The waitress, Taniya, was delightful. Music was really good. read more

Great ambient, great service and overall, great food, Cristian our waiter was above and beyond recommended the best dishes and drinks, will definitely be back read more

The Rustic has a lot going for it - a fantastic atmosphere with live music that creates a really enjoyable vibe, and a menu that, at first glance, offers a good selection. However, their brunch is where things fall short. The process of ordering felt unnecessarily complicated, and the limited brunch options were neither filling nor particularly impressive. While I can appreciate the appetizers and the general menu, the pricing seems a bit high for the portion sizes you get. It's a nice spot for enjoying the ambiance and some starters, but for brunch, it might be better to look elsewhere. read more

Worst service ever. Here from San Diego for the final four the owner is so cheap this place is ridiculously under staffed. Avoid it. read more

This place is AMAZING!!! From the ambience to the music Christie Jean played to the service that Marjorie gave from the time we arrived until the time we departed, I can honestly say that this was the perfect "benediction" to my trip to Houston. Can't wait to get back here to come back and eat again! read more

What a fantastic evening spent at the Rustic! Dijah and Josh were absolutely fabulous - from England London and they showered us with southern hospitality. If there's one thing you do whilst in Houston it's check this place out. Thank you for one of the best dining experiences - best hospitality and incredible live music. read more

Review #1 Here are the details: Free Range Concepts, out of Dallas (Josh and Kyle). Valet is $10, parking under discovery Green they will validate up to three hours. Street parking. Music, Friday bigger bands. Saturday and Sunday brunch. 10-3. Saturday there will be three music acts throughout the day. If a huge band it playing all tables will be taken out, food will be served concession style. Some shows will charge. Country centered. Huge venue!! Been opened in Dallas since 2013. Perfect before or after a Rockets or Dynamo game. Located on the downtown side of 59. Farm to fork. Locally from Texas. 34 beers on tap. Not pet friendly. 4th of July - Drink the flag. Buy a spot on the huge flag behind the bar. Buy a beer and they will put it on the wall - for a non profit. I ordered the Texas peaches and pecan- old camp peach whisky, kingsman apricot, Paula's orange and roasted pecans. Damn good!!! Then had tamales three ways. Smoked brisket with chipotle garlic queso, chicken tinga, with cotija, pork carnitas with Chile de arbol salsa. Yummy!!! Next was he rustic burger with chips. Huge. Basic ordering choice but so good!!!! Great service. Must see this place!!! read more

The service was unbelievably good as well as the food. We had a young man named Carter who went above and beyond to ensure our party of 8 had everything we needed and gave us great answers to all the questions we had about the menu items. It was a five star experience and I wish we had a Rustic up north in Rhode Island. read more

The smoked dip was good. Pretty cool the way it's presented at the table with all the smoke. I had the quail and they were delicious. My husband had the drunk chicken which was great as well. read more

Horrible service. We arrive at 11:30 and they were already complaining because they close at 1. Our server was complaining why the host sat us there because she's ready to go. I was still eating my food and she took my plate and brought the tab. We went to the bar thinking we would have a good time there but nope. Bartenders are complaining that they work "12 hours and just don't care " was very disappointed. This was our first time here and was not what we expected. MANAGEMENT NEED TO TAKE CARE OF THIS. read more

Avoid this place if you can. Super overpriced. Fries are terrible. Came out like warm like they were sitting under a heat lamp for an hour. Fried Chicken sandwich takes like it was boiled in hotdog water. Bartenders were cool but this place isn't worth it at $25 cocktails. read more

Food is pretty good, but service is terrible. I was working downtown and this was a convenient option, but the waitstaff had to be reminded to bring silverware, never really checked on our table after they dropped our food. On another visit, the bartender pointedly ignored our party for service. For such a large place that was only one third full, I would think that they could get a drinks order within 15 minutes of sitting at the bar. Also, the bartender was not friendly, never checked on us, we basically had to tug her arm to get a second round of drinks.... read more

I've never been to the Rustic before but it is a great spot to eat ! First time coming here I had a server named Marie, she gave excellent service, was super attentive and made sure that our table stayed taken care of. The food was great, and so were the prices ! The location is amazing too, right next to George R Brown for any events you may have! read more

What a nifty spot! My wife and I enjoyed the Sunday morning brunch with not very high expectations (it had only been open a week at the time), and we were wowed. The atmosphere here is ... fun. You can hide in the corner, grab a table overlooking the stage, or sit at long picnic tables. There's some outside seating, but I didn't check it out while we were there because it was misty and a little chilly. Service here on our visit was excellent. Our server seemed a little confused as to whether my wife could order a single Mimosa (vs. a carafe), but I chalk that up to a place being open for a very short while. The brunch is pretty darned good. It worked out great for us, because my wife was more partial to the baked eggs, while I preferred the grits (corn pone). A lot of this is locally sourced, and we could tell in the freshness of the food. The Sunday entertainment was doing sound checks while we dined, and we didn't stick around to hear him perform. But that also gives us a reason to come back here with friends for dinner. read more

The Rustic is a cool vibe kinda place with good food and good service. We went for a large company party and had a band play on stage. They did a great job taking care of the group making everyone feel welcome and appreciated. Two bars allowed for quick service and the food was served by employees buffet style allowing you to choose what you wanted on your plate. The atmosphere is great. I think it would be a great place to go with friends and I believe they have live music nights. read more

Went in to have dinner with my mom and everything was just ok. service was ok. food was ok. Our server was kind when she was speaking to us but you could tell she was irritated with ig her getting more tables. apart from that food was nothing crazy to go on about (apart from the onion rings, those were good) The atmosphere was cool since it was dim with warm lighting ,just wish i could of gotten a different server and a different dish. read more

We are in town staying at the Hilton-Americana for the Houston Marathon. Came over around 3pm for some linner. Happy hour is 3-6. $5 old fashion's, half off all wines, and some $5 appetizers. We got the meatballs with jalapeño jam--Yum! I ordered the chicken salad. I really liked it, but next time I would order the dressing on the side. I like to control how much is on it, and the salad had quite a bit, but tasty. My husband had the Texas quail with jalapeño spoon bread and added a side of Mac & cheese. He loved it. The meat was so tender. He loved that you get to choose from many bourbons for the $5 old fashion. Loved that there was live music!! Great atmosphere! read more

Our waitress wasn't good at the start. My friend and I were greatest by a hostess and seated. She was pleasant. 10 minutes go by and we have yet to see a menu (QR code was missing from table) Server was switched out and was better. A waitress finally comes and ask us if we are ready yet to which my friend asked for a menu and she quickly grabbed one. We asked for water and ordered an app while we looked through the menu. Abruptly we are given a new waitress, Jimena. She alert and attentive. I didn't like the food I ordered. I took two bites and couldn't finish. I did not take it home. I only ate the fries, semi warm but eatable. She got it taken off my receipt. It wasn't busy this particular Sunday. Nice concept of the restaurant design. Including my friend, I've seen a recurring issue with the staff at this location. While I was there, I saw a lot of waiters/waitresses standing around on their phones. I understand everyone has a section they are waiting but perception and presentation counts for a lot when dining and serving. I want to encourage the staff to challenge themselves with providing the best customer service to all of their guests. I didn't like my experience but it could have been an off day for waitress. Management can only do so much but I would encourage you all to make sure standards are being met. Thank you read more

Good food. Great service. Beautiful area. I love the aesthetic of the area and the location is amazing a well.

Had a great fun night here. There was a live band which was awesome. The venue itself is wonderful. The food was good. The tacos are good and the triple chop is delicious. Servers were very attentive. Over all a great experience. read more

The rustic was a regrettably bland experience. While i like the look and layout of the place a lot and the service was alright, the food was a big miss. I don't even have anything outrageous to say the food just plainly wasn't good, I tried 3 entrees (chicken sandwich, burger, and salmon burger) , got 2 appetizers and 3 side options and all of the food lacked flavor. That mac and cheese tasted like what I imagine dishwater to taste like. The salmon burger was so dry i thought it was jerky. It was one of those meals where a big check comes out and you just feel like you're ripping money up. The only good part of eating here was my company we had a great time laughing about how bad everything was . read more

Food was good, not great. The band playing on stage was good but the speakers were SO LOUD that you couldn't have a conversation with the person next to you until the song ended. Waitstaff seemed unorganized and awkward. All parking is valley parking which costs $10 if I remember correctly, otherwise you'll have to park in a nearby garage. Very cool atmosphere though and seems like a cool place for a few drinks after a rockets or Astros game. read more

We got the appetizers of the following: Boar Meatballs with Jalapeño jam 10/10 Deviled eggs 8/10 Hot Queso- meh it was queso with chips Carnita Quesadillas- 6/10 Chorizo empanadas 6/10 The rustic margarita with the mango popsicle -10/10 very good, vert strong and worth the money!
