They must have changed cooks because the food here is amazing. The service is spectacular. We try to get back here often. Very friendly atmosphere.

Bar? Restaurant? Both? Great food. Cold beer. Service... well I believe it definitely depends on the time of day but it's always friendly. I honestly have tried several things on the menu here. Favorite is definitely the steak sandwich. It's a little pricey but worth it. Especially if one of your buddies is getting the tab. Stop in and check it out. Just make sure you follow the speed limit to get there!

Drove from Omaha to check it out. Have to say I love the atmosphere. Very laid back, friendly service and great food. Jamie was our server and greeted us right away. Check on out often and refilled our drinks. Salads came right out and appetizer was followed. We had onion rings and you could tell they were hand breaded. Must try!! I had the shrimp dinner with hash browns. 13 pieces of med to large shrimp. Nice and crispy. Hash browns were a little greasy but I don't mind that. Hubby had the hamburger steak and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. Nothing to exciting here but had a great flame broil to the steak. Over all I do recommend.

Our first time here and likely our last. Not because of bad service or overly bad food. Just really not worth the drive... The Good: The Jalapeño Burger was a 5 star for sure!!! My sweet potato fries were not bad either. Our waitress was polite when she did stop by. The Bad: For the place being half full the wait of almost 45 minutes for our food seemed a bit excessive. Our waitress was polite but I feel she's in the wrong business. She didn't seem very involved at all and didn't stop by our table again until it was time to pay - no water or tea refills either... My wife's walleye tasted bland and very greasy. The "best of Omaha" onion rings left much to be desired. They were undercooked, almost raw and also not much for flavor. The Ugly Truth: If you're on your way through Ft. Calhoun and are craving a good Jalapeño Burger (which isn't very spicy but very delicious) then it's worth pulling over and stopping in, other then that I would say pass it and find another place. The most fun part of our visit here was the "YelpWar" with Lauren R. while we waited for our food

This is your typical small town diner where the wait staff knows and calls customers by their first name. Went to meet a friend for lunch on a Saturday. Good menu selection........they got chicken fried steak plates and I got the bubba stack (hashbrowns with biscults and gravy with 2 eggs any style served over top). Food was good. It did take quite a bit longer to get the food than expected, but we enjoyed talking and catching up. The food came out and all was forgiven for the wait. Large portions and decent prices. I want another Bubba Stack.

We drove up to the Rustic from Omaha to try something new, and I'm glad we did. The restaurant was unpretentious and most importantly, clean. I ordered the jalapeno chicken sandwich which was really good. My husband liked his prime rib, and the baked potato was the biggest one we've ever seen! The service was great, too. We'll definitely try it again someday.

Swingin through Fort Calhoun and I had known about couple bar & grills in town. Stopped at The Rustic for lunch (on a Wed). SO is a fan of onion rings and these rings were Best of Omaha(or something). He got onion rings as the side with the Rustic Philly. Served with a cup of au jus for dippin. Philly was deliciously tender, fall apart roast beef(his words) . Topped with chopped up onions, green peppers and mushrooms. Onion rings were real good, crunchy, flakey batter with perfect amount of seasoning. Even better dipped in the au jus. I chose the patty melt. It was good. The beef patty was fully cooked and not dry with sautéed onions and cheese on marble rye bread(btw tasted even better dipped in au jus too). Fries as my side, typical crinkle cut. The fries could have been in the fryer just a minute longer, as some of those suckers were a little underdone. Again...dip those lil fries in the au jus Would I have drank the au jus? It's quite possible... Our wait staff were not overly friendly but not rude either. We didn't need anything refilled but were only checked on once. Decent place to return to!

The wings are big, meaty and cooked to perfection. Nice atmosphere and great staff. If you're in the area you won't be disappointed.

Is the walleye Alaskan Walleye (pollock)?

Not sure but their 3-piece on Friday (last night) was amazing.

This is a really nice new building. It's large with many TV's and tables. They have large "garage…read moredoors" that can be opened up so that you feel somewhat like you are sitting outside, yet you are not. They do have a food menu but for convenience we ordered a burger that they were grilling and selling outdoors. There are many picnic tables and a couple of stages on their large landing outside the main building. Everything seems super clean which is nice, and the folks that work there are very accommodating. I can only comment to the women's restroom, but they are fantastic! Each stall is completely private and well maintained! Always nice! I boated there over Memorial Day weekend, and while they did have bands it was nice that there was no cover. Who does that?!? Just another refreshing part of this newer establishment. They did add gas on their docks for boats which they didn't have last year. Fantastic except on this particular day anyway they did not have dedicated docks for boats that needed gas, but rather they would drag the gas hose over other boats to get to the boat that needed gas. Meanwhile the boat needing gas had to hold on to other docked boats to keep it steady while filling up. Hopefully this will not be a practice they continue as it seemed a bit dangerous and annoying for the owners of the docked boats. Their RV campground seemed full and nice, although it will be even nicer once the newer trees grow enough to actually provide some shade. Welcome back Cottonwood Marina!! So happy it was rebuilt after the flood!

The Ambience is pretty standard for a sports bar and grill in Nebraska, with the requisite TVs lining the walls. During our visit, most of the TVs were muted, but one was blaring sports and commentators fairly loudly, especially for how quiet the rest of the place was. The menu is not vegetarian-friendly. Other than your standard deep-fried appetizers, the only option for herbivores is a veggie pizza. I ordered a personal sized one, sans onions. The pizza came out with plenty of toppings and cheese, but unfortunately, it could have used some more time in the oven. The crust was definitely doughy, and the toppings were a bit soggy. The cheese curds were decent though, and everyone else in our party enjoyed their food. This is not the kind of place I tend to seek out personally, because I know the options for me will be very limited. But sometimes we go where the group wants to go. Certainly visit and decide for yourself if you are in the mood for some classic bar food. (For those wondering, this is a Pepsi establishment.)

We ordered a Lighthouse Sampler, 2 medium rare steak specials, wings, bacon and egg burger, kids Mac and kids corn dogs. Sampler was good. No complaints on the wings or burger. The steaks however were overcooked, fatty and had no flavor. Will not be recommending those to anyone. Fast forward to today. 7 Sept. There were 5 adults to start with a 6th person arriving later. I had to yell across the restaurant to get the server so we could order. After that she disappeared. When the sixth person arrived, not one employee came up to us. I had to go to the bar to try to get myself a refill and order a drink for the sixth person after waiting 15 minutes. When I questioned about our server, I was told she was sick and they were short staffed. There were a couple people in our group are immune compromised and she could get one of them very sick. The tvs were on and showing both volleyball and football. The volume was a little loud and made it hard to hear each other. Also, where the heck are the managers?? Tonight was all teenager/high school looking servers.
