I went to the Blair Marina with my son and I really enjoyed myself there. The place was very nice and the staff was very nice. Also, the environment inside was very good. I enjoyed being able to watch sports on the TVs and the only problem I had was I ordered nachos and cheese. This was the deluxe, but it came with shredded cheese on it, which drives out really fast and I really prefer soft melted cheese that you drizzle over the nachos when they are complete. It is such a much better plate and simpler to handle four finger food not having to rip the chips apart from cheddar cheese being stuck together like spiderwebs. Soft nacho cheese is the way to go. I did enjoy the nachos. They were good. I just prefer the nacho cheese hot melted instead of the shredded. Hopefully there will be an option. The next time I go where I can have the shredded or the hot melted nacho cheese. read more

There was a line to get in but it moved quickly. The service was a top 10 and the food was hot and fantastic. Can't wait to have their Walleye again! Even with a large number of people there we did not feel crowded. We will be returning soon! read more

I thoroughly enjoyed eating here! I'm not usually a steak person, but someone recommended that I get the hamburger steak, and it was amazing!!! I also tried some very good sweet potato fries, corn nuggets, mac and cheese bites, and onion rings! Service was good and it's well decorated inside. Highly recommend!!!! read more

SO DISAPPOINTED! We eat here every few months when we visit family, and generally things are quite good. Last week was not good at all. The prime rib was so filled with tendons and fat, it was all but impossible to eat. A T-bone was very over cooked. The walleye was like crappy fish sticks. Never in our life have we seen walleye served as fish sticks. A chicken sandwich was so overcooked even using ketchup didn't help. What happened here? Did the good cook's leave, did you change quality of products? We were actually shocked how not busy it was for a Saturday night. Maybe other people already figured out they have gone bad? So hope they get back to being good!! read more

Marina for steak.... Interesting concept but I was influenced by a good buddy that this was the best steak in town. The great thing about this influence, his treat! All on board yet? That's a very tough time to be fussy. I'm going to go back because obviously I'm not sure how the price is justified. Service was mediocre but the crowd seemed to be regulars. So most likely servers are comfortable. I had the NY Strip and fries. Side salad was the star of the show unfortunately. We had the corn nuggets and Mac and Cheese bites. I'm from a place where corn nuggets are delicious so maybe unfairly to judge. You can deep fry anything and have it be good. Not sure what happened. As said earlier, I will update this review when my second trip is made if, if it is better. read more

Maybe some things have changed since some of the one and two star reviews for this restaurant were originally posted, but to be clear there were no paper plates or red solo cups that I saw, the service was great, and the steaks are incredible. My parents and I went on a Wednesday, so it wasn't packed, but they had a crowd. Perhaps service isn't as good during peak times, but I would deal with that to get the food. My dad had a ribeye, my mom had a NY Strip, and I had a filet. Each one was excellent. Cooked perfectly, tender, and seasoned perfectly. The servers were at our tables promptly, I never had to wait more than two minutes to get a mixed drink from the bar which was on the other side of the restaurant. BTW, the drinks were good, no short shots like you frequently get a steakhouses. I believe trip advisor had some comments that the decor leaves something to be desired. I will say the outside could use a coat of paint, but hey it's a marina. The interior decor is pretty cozy, it's not going to win any award for interior decoration but I thought it was nice. It has a hunting fishing lodge vibe, and one thing that I truly appreciate is that they don't stack the tables right on top of one another. Our first time at The Marina. We were graciously accommodated as a large party of 15. Orders were taken quickly, appetizers were quick and hot. Drink orders were correct and refilled promptly! All of the entrees seemed to be enjoyed and some were just huge portion sizes. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal and never seemed frazzled and always had a smile. I reviewed this place years ago when I was working in Omaha at Fort Calhoun, and had raved to my wife about it. Since we were in Omaha for a wedding, my wife suggested that we try this place again, even though it was 30 minutes north of our hotel. Challenge Accepted! We drove up I-29, got off at Blair and visited, First off, they upgraded the lighting - it's brighter inside. The ceiling - okay, don't look at the ceiling. You are coming for the steaks. The steaks - I ordered the Filet Mignon, and my wife had their Surf and Turf with a small filet. The steaks were the best we had in a long time. My wife orders the smaller steaks and typically gets gristle - none in this one. It was tender, and thankfully, properly seasoned. I didn't have to add ANYTHING to the steak - it was just that good. The salad was improved from our previous visit - much better, and three dressings come to the table for you to pick from. We tried out their cheese curds for an appetizer, and they were good. The mixed drinks tasted right. Service was fast, and the price - outstanding! Two steak dinners, two drinks, salad, and less than $90. Where else can you get that? We'll be back. We went out for steaks with a group of 15 family members and there were mixed reviews. We called ahead and made reservations, asking specifically about prime rib. Once we got there, we were informed there were only two left which left a lot of us disappointed party right away. I was very surprised when our drinks came out and my niece's Diet Coke was served in a can with a red solo cup. Definitely not something you would expect from a place serving $20+ steaks. To add to this one person ordered a Bud Light Lime and was brought a regular Bud Light not once but twice. After taking our food orders, our salads came out very quickly. While simple, most everyone was pleased with it. The same can not be said about our main courses however. My nephew who was on one end of the table and my father on the other end, both were upset with the quality of their t-bone and prime rib respectively. The t-bone was not cooked to order. It was ordered 'Pittsburgh Rare' and after the waitress asked what that was, it explained as a hard sear on the outside but still rare inside. It came out looking like it was boiled and lacking flavor. The prime rib on the other hand had great flavor. It was probably a great steak at 5:30pm when the restaurant opened but by 7:30pm it was cold. The au jos was cold as well. I was sitting in the middle and was the last to get my meal. My steak, which I order medium well, came out the rarest I've ever seen a steak. Normally I would have sent it back but after seeing my niece's steak get sent back and come back charred and looking like charcoal, I was hesitant to send it back to the kitchen. There were a few of us that enjoyed their steak but overall it was not the consensus. To add to everything, since we were a large party a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the ticket. Horrible slow service. Cold appetizers and I had to get appetizer plates myself.. paper plates. Now I don't go out to a nice steakhouse to eat off of paper plates but that was a minor issue. It got worse. We got there at 6:30 and got our dinner at 9:15. I'm pretty sure my steak was cooked in a microwave. I've had pot roast that was more tender than the fillet I ordered. I'll try to post a picture. I could barely cut it with my knife. We had waited so long for our food that I was absolutely starving at this point but I couldn't have eaten this thing if I wanted to it was so charred and stringy. The waitress did admit that she forgot to put our order in and that I can live with, accidents happen. BUT after I patiently wait that long to eat I'd better at least have a good steak right?! The real kicker and final nail in the coffin is that I told her to take it off my bill it was so bad and the manager/owner lady Mary actually accused me of eating half of it! So bad. I told her I didn't eat half of it and she argued with me and said that she saw the plate and yes I did eat half. I told her that I had cut some off (not half) and handed it around to my friends to show them how bad it was. She says, oh so THEY ate half of it. I said omg lady literally nobody ate it. I opened up the tin foil from my husband's baked potato and found the piece he stuck in there and I'm waving this meat in her face to prove my innocence! LOL what a train wreck. We will never be back and neither will any of our friends. read more

I asked Lynette for the largest ribeye that they had and she delivered a wonderfully seasoned and prepared cut. Didn't even know this place existed before a couple weeks ago but I really enjoyed it! We went on a Saturday night which gave us the option of having the prime rib (prime rib is served on Fridays and Saturdays). It was delicious! Very big portion with a potato and salad. The seasoning was perfect and the au jus was to die for! My husband had a New York strip and was very impressed as well. You also get a basket with some rolls which were pretty good. The dining area is very open and very old fashioned but it had the charm of a normal small town restaurant. Overall it was a really good experience. read more
