Funky little breakfast spot. Outside seating is basically sitting in the parking lot, not so nice. But inside, Great decor, comfortable seating. We had pulled pork and grits and sausage gravy over biscuits. Flavors were great! Grits weren't as smooth as I typically like it but had good flavor. Biscuits were a bit heavy, but gravy was great. All in all it's a nice solid 4 stars. Ok weird part, and probably can't be helped, but they really need a bigger place. Their interior is so nice, just get more of it and forget outside. Things to know: I was previously a server in a tourist-popular, quick-service restaurant located in Disney Springs, Orlando. The Rooster today demonstrated POOR SERVICE. I understand it's Memorial Day weekend, but the following experience I had makes no sense and is unacceptable. This review is about the SERVICE we were NEVER GIVEN. I can't speak for the drinks or food because we never got what we ordered. Here's how my experience went: 1. I talked to the hostess and listed my party of 3 for the first table available. (We were seated outside after a 30 minute wait). 2. The one and only server outside got drink orders for a table that got seated after us. 3. We politely talked to the hostess to let her known that our server missed our table. 4. Our server comes over, greets us, and takes our Drink + Food drink orders since we knew exactly what we wanted after being at the restaurant for 45 minutes at this point. 5. 10 minutes later, we see ANOTHER PARTY GET THEIR DRINKS BEFORE US (& yes, THEY WERE SEATED AFTER US). 6. After wading through banal reviews for chain breakfast places and diner style breakfasts on yelp we finally landed on Rooster. The moment you walk in you immediately know you have made the right decision. The interior design and decor of the restaurant is cozy, but modern and inviting. The service would better be described as hospitality than normal restaurant service. The hostess, waiter and even chef were constantly checking on very table and engaging in conversation with various tables. We started with coffees and mimosas. The alcoholic side of the breakfast menu isn't overly large but the drinks we had were fresh and well made. The food is where Rooster earns the real gold star. We first sampled the biscuit and home made jam. The biscuit was flaky, buttery and both light and rich at the same time. For my main course I had the curried chicken salad sandwich with fries. The chicken salad had a food Indian spice, and fresh taste. The fries were fantastic. The perfect balance of crisp crunch on fluffy potatoes. Beware! We recently had the worst breakfast ever at the Rooster. My eggs Benedict was salty with sliced ham that was full of fat & undercooked. The hash browns were not any better. My husband's traditional breakfast was so salty it gave him a headache. And we paid more than $60 for this! We will never go back! There are great restaurants in Naples! This is not one of them! It was nice to go to a restaurant that was not on 5th avenue but tasted like we were dining on 5th avenue(the high end, no parking available part of Naples). They have this pretty red jam which is something you cannot buy in a store and we fancy ourselves jam snobs. the sugar was well proportioned -Savory Shrimp and Grits: powerfully flavored, spice level is not an issue but I added some hot sauce to mine. It is not those nasty soupy grits, it's quite rich I had a hard time cleaning my plate. I felt I got a lot of value out of my dining experience. Price&Capacity: I think it's a steal. Impressively priced. no trumped up prices just for being a non chain restaurant in Naples. I love this location I can't wait to give it more business. 4.5 stars! Definitely enjoyed this place, they have some or the best home style American cooking you can find (pancakes, bacon, grits, it was all amazing). And the little square patio actually works well, we were happy with it. The only thing that didn't do it for me was the fried green tomato "salad" - there was a small garnish of arugula, but when I order a salad i expect a bed of greens (I like my vegetables), and that didn't happen here (see picture below). We were in the area and decided to give this place a try. The atomosphere is very cool and menu is very unique, which I love. Typically I don't order food that I can cook at home, lucky for me that most menu items were quirky. I ordered the short rib Benedict with pesto hollandaise sauce on homemade biscuits. It was the best eggs Benedict that I have ever had. I also ordered a lemon pancake which was so delicious that I didn't even add butter or syrup. So why only 4 stars when the food was easily 5+? It's about the experience and our server was a middle aged woman that obviously hates children. She made us feel unwelcome from the beginning. We have a 10 month old and asked for a high chair and the other young friendly server got it for us. Our grumpy server pushed us over right away so our baby wouldn't annoy the empty table.. which stayed empty the entire time. My child is not an angel all the time, but she was this visit and the server was borderline rude. Honestly she damages this fantastic business because as much as I loved the food, I don't want to feel less than or treated unkindly because I have a child!!!!! Inside, there are simple benches with plenty of seating, and a semi-open kitchen. The wait staff is extemely warm, welcoming, and friendly. The menu has a wide selection of breakfast staples, from eggs benedict to waffles to pancakes. We tried the Jumbo Crabcake Benedict and Blueberry Pancakes. The crabcake was savory, and the hollandaise sauce went well with the side of hashbrowns. The pancake was on the heavy and filling side, and the blueberry flavor popped. We had an enjoyable experience, but the prices are the sore spot. For two entreés, breakfast no less, it set us back 40 dollars with tip. I would recommend a try. read more
