Good stuff. Simple place. No frills. Easy pickup. Quality ingredients. Really well-cooked eggs. Great cilantro crema. The tater tots were a little overpowering, but otherwise a really good breakfast burrito that is definitely worth a try.

$15 for one sandwich, the size of my hand. I don't know how this business is going to last here with prices like that. Breakfast is so cheap to make it should not cost this much. This is the impossible breakfast sandwich. If the reason it's expensive because they're buying name brand products maybe they should rethink their ingredients. A vegan sandwich can be extremely cheap to make. I saw the other food on the menu but this sounded the best. So I'm not sure if I would try any other products here they had similar prices.

Great spot for breakfast burritos! The Rooster is amazing for anyone who wants a quick grab-and-go. A simple setting with the purpose to deliver delicious food. The menu is very simple and includes seven signature eats. You also have an option for a burger, tacos, and a vegan sandwich. You can substitute how you'd like, but note it will cost extra. I.e. it cost $2 to substitute the bacon for chorizo in the Rico Suave burrito. Parking can be tough but there are some limited parking spots in the back for customers. The service was quick. Very limited seating within the restaurant and no public restrooms.

I've been training for the LA Marathon and after my Saturday long runs the only thing I want is a killer breakfast burrito. So I have been on the search for the perfect breakfast burrito, and after yesterdays 11 miles, I NEEDED a good one. A friend recommended The Rooster, so my teen and I headed over from Santa Monica. Their breakfast menu is pretty limited--just the burrito and a couple of other breakfast sandwiches--but I think that simplicity is the key to their success. They just do a few things and they do them well! I love the fact that the egg isn't scrambled--I'm pretty sure I saw them crack the egg directly on top of the tortilla and cook it that way, but I was still in my post-run fog and didn't get a picture. However they do it, the yolk (fully cooked) and whites aren't mixed, and I loved it. I hate it when restaurants load up the burrito with potatoes, but they include just the right amount of tater tots to give it that starch and crunch without overpowering the other flavors. And that green sauce it comes with? Divine. My only gripe is that it's a bit of a drive from Santa Monica, and I can't see making this drive every weekend after my long runs. But the burrito is so good that I'm considering it!

Wow!!! Their rico suave burrito is absolutely amazing. I asked for no bacon so there is none in the image (I don't eat bacon). Definitely worth the drive! Service is fast, friendly staff, fresh tasting ingredients. Will be back!! If people ask me for my favorite burrito, this is definitely on the top of my list!

Super easy to find. Nice clean little parking lot, easy street parking!

Really enjoyed the Rico breakfast burrito and the green crema!! Full of flavor and worth the stop!

I've tried pretty much every breakfast burrito in LA and this is still been my favorite for the past at least 5 years

Wonderful breakfast burrito! Especially love the vegan substitution options. Was filling but not overly greasy like how some breakfast burritos can be. Their sauce and salsa were so professionally packaged!

Regular breakfast burrito requested without dairy. Delicious.

Excellent breakfast burritos. Very kind service. Appreciative of our patronage. Just opened. Support them. I certainly will. Adorable looking inside too though still settling in.

It's good, it's worth a stop, staff was friendly and helpful enough. I can understand why The Rooster has been included in "the best" breakfast burritos in LA conversation. The tots are crispy, the avocado is a must for the creamy/fatty/healthy component, the bavon is crispy but doesn't shatter, the cheese is cheesy and the cotija is crumbly salty, I appreciate a little brightness with the cilantro crema, though the fried is a tad over cooked for my taste. All for $12.50 which is actually on the lowish/medium end for hip breakfast burritos. What was weird though and worth mentioning is that it's a cashless business. NBD, I get all the reasons why and it's nothing new, I pay with my credit card for bonus miles anyways. Buuuut, there's a charge for using your credit card... *record scratch sound effect* So I can't use cash and will have to pay extra for using a credit card, so I HAVE to use my debit card. Such an oddity that you have to print out a sign that says it twice in black text on white background AND white text in black background. I can afford the 3% or whatever full in the blank it is that day, but it's such a weird thing to me that you wouldn't just round up on your signature Rico Sauve breakfast burrito to $12.99 instead of $12.50 and nobody would bat an eye ‍ Maybe it's just me... but I still enjoyed the breakfast burrito

I was really excited to try this breakfast burrito. But honestly it was huge miss. I like the whole setup of the restaurant and the menu sounds great. But when I took the first bites I was missing out on Flavor! The sauces were missing flavor too. No spice at all and hardly any salt. I think they wanted to copy wake and late but definitely not even close. The textures were not on point. And the Flavor was a real disappointment. I genuinely was super excited when I got my food. Try seasoning the eggs and potatoes and crisping up the bacon way more. And add some actual chiles to the salsas. Otherwise this is not a contender for best breakfast burrito.

This was my first time ordering from the Rooster. I tried their Breakfast Burrito called the Rico Suave. The Burrito was very good however it was very small. I usually only eat half a breakfast burrito in the morning but I was able to finish the whole Burrito easily. I probably wouldn't order from them again as it's not a very good bang for your buck.

The checkout process is unorganized during the lunch and weekend rush. The customer service is friendly. I usually get the build your own veggie and add every free topping. I wish they had veggie protein options such as tofu, black beans (or even black bean paste), or falafels. They do have plain hummus and cheese for protein but that hits like 2 grams. There's a patio that's cute and encourages community. There's also the property next door that is a pond which has some tables and chairs if there's an overflow or you're introverted. It's tucked away in a residential neighborhood and parking can get a little tight. When I walked in, it was a little confusing because I did not see any clear directions on how to place my order. I asked another customer who appeared to have been there before and he guided me to this counter with paper that had menu items on it. You have to checkmark the ingredients you want on your sandwich or whatever you're ordering. I wanted an Italian sub, I wasn't sure if I should check off ingredients for an Italian sub, or if just checking Italian sub and the type of bread I wanted would get me a sub with the standard ingredients for an Italian sub. The sub was definitely not what I expected, it was dry and flavorless. I wanted extra onions, oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, and extra mayonnaise. None of those ingredients were present, and there was no clear way for me to make the request because it's nearly impossible to interact with the people preparing the food. When it was all said and done, I would definitely not order an Italian sub from here again. Definitely organized chaos! Or, just unorganized depending on how you look at it. It all just appeared to be a little chaotic. I also grabbed some tuna and watermelon, which was a refrigerated section in plastic containers. I ordered the tuna because it listed onions and celery as two of the main ingredients I look for in tuna. The tuna was dry and flavorless. I will need to add more celery, onions, mayonnaise, salt and pepper with a few other ingredients, which means I could have made it myself. I also ordered watermelon, which was not sweet, it tasted like it was cut too close to the rind. I'm still not sure how I feel about Jackson Market. Based on some of the responses from the owners, I don't think I would return. I don't understand why we can't come to a platform like Yelp and give our honest opinion without the owners responding so harshly, instead of taking the criticism and using it to their advantage, or not. As far as Italian Subs go, may I suggest Ghost Sando or Philly's Best? Even Jersey Mike's is better. IMHO! This review was typed on a mobile device, please forgive any typos.

It's a narrow shop, and most customers take their orders to-go. I've previously enjoyed the La Paradiso and La Toscana, with the La Paradiso being my personal favorite. For our first visit with our son, we asked the staff for recommendations, and they suggested either the Venice Beach (Turkey) or the New Yorker (Roast Beef). The staff was incredibly generous, offering a roast beef sample, which our son loved! We also appreciated them providing ice and straws for our water. We ordered the New Yorker ($19.00) with roast beef, porcini cream, tomato, and arugula. The sandwich was thoughtfully cut in half, perfect for sharing. The schiacciata bread boasts a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy interior, which beautifully complements the meats and cheeses. We opted to substitute the porcini cream for mozzarella, which was sliced into perfect bite-sized pieces and tasted incredibly fresh. The roast beef was thinly sliced and tender, the tomatoes were fresh and sliced to perfection, and the arugula added a delightful peppery crunch. It's a well-balanced sandwich and one of the best in LA. We would definitely order it again.
