From the moment we entered this space we were beyond excited. A great well organized shop. There are so many unique and nostalgic items that generated so many memories. The shop staff was amazing, friendly and welcoming. We were out celebrating my bestie bday. We did have coffee. We both had the strawberry cobbler. Mine was hot and she got iced. It was good. We had pastries as well, I'm not sure were would select them again. One was lemon bar and the other was lemon scone. This miss for us maybe divine for someone else. We are both thinking about our next visit. Latonia is such a cool little area. read more

Nice place to sit and have coffee or as I had a hot chai apple cider. I have had this place on my list for a bit as I wanted to check out their antiques. When I got there I found a parking spot behind the building, there was limited parking there but I was able to walk in the back door. The coffee counter is toward the front of the building so I looked at the antiques in the back portion of the shop. The prices were not bad on the antique and vintage items. I made my way to the front and when I got to the counter to order the woman behind the counter let me know there were seasonal items not on the menu and I chose the chai cider. It was a good little treat on the very rainy day I was there. I will have to stop back in to see how often their inventory turns over and also to try something else on the coffee menu. read more

Ambience Lovely, cozy vibe inside the shop with lots to look at! Unique environment with various seating throughout. Service So sweet and friendly! And pretty quick turn around! Ingenuity Love the "bucket" concept! You get discounts for bringing it back for refills and you get a free sticker to decorate the bucket with! Very unique and cute concept! Also environmentally friendly to encourage reuse of the bucket! Keep in mind though, the bucket doesn't fit in most car cup holders lol however, it is closed very securely. Coffee I was a little disappointed in the coffee. The flavor wasn't bad but not something I would go out of my way for. I also had wayyy too much cinnamon in my iced Maple Spice Latte. It caused a texture issue for me where each sip was grainy from the cinnamon. If I ordered again I would ask for light cinnamon. read more

My wife and I love going to The Roost! The coffee is always great and they have a good variety of seasonal flavors. The atmosphere is unique and they always have something different to look at. Today I finally tried one of the cinnamon rolls and the barista warmed it to make sure it gave the full effect. I've yet to get an iced coffee bucket, but it is on my to-do list! Will always recommend The Roost to anyone in the area. read more

Everyone needs to know about The Roost, it's one of the best things to happen to Latonia! I cannot get over how stinkin cute this place is. So many local goods, fun antique or vintage finds paired with modern reads (love the books about teaching kiddos about racism, depression, anxiety and optimism) and empowerment. The space I just cannot get over, but their coffee? Just as good. One of the freshest/earthy dirty chai lattes and their baked goods are from Sixteen Bricks which never fail to amaze. My cinnamon bun was drool-worthy! I cannot wait to come back in the evening for their cocktails and events. I just looked on their event page and The Roost is offering some really unique--think a Barn Square workshop!--events that you won't find elsewhere. I am so happy to see a cool gem like this in the town I grew up in. I can't wait to spend some days co-working in their gorgeous space. read more

UPDATE: I have been here many more times and just consistently am so pleased with the service, speed, kindness of employees, and (what you're really waiting for) the taste and quality of what I get!! I mean they have everything you would want: + Good coffee (and options) + Pastries + Wifi + Plenty of seating + Location is great for walking around + Nice staff + Free parking around + Bonus: store I tried the cinnamon pull apart bread and lemon pastry, which is not made by the Roost and I felt a little "eh" about them both... I am going through something where that is my response to most pastries. So take that for what it's worth, but I did enjoy the lemon pastry much more than the cinnamon pull apart. The decor and options of items to purchase are always different and make great gifts (or splurge for yourself if you're feeling it). I adore that they are a space that can be rented and that hosting is so important to the owner. I came in one day when they were supposed to be closed for a group (that is really near and dear to the owner's heart may I add) and she said, "we're closed, but come on in! I'll make you something." And she did, that was so kind. I just am blown away by the kindness and care I consistently get when coming here. Many places make good product, and The Roost DOES, but the owner + employees just place this over the top. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Loved the idea before it was even open yet. But, it fell flat to the expectations. Coffee was alright, not super great but just okay. Could make at home for the same taste. They made other customers drinks before mine, which isn't a big deal if my order was complicated! I'd totally get that. But it was a simple coffee with some syrups. They also forgot my chocolate croissant for a few minutes and the way it's laid out, it is hard to speak up to the baristas. It also has the same vibes and items as many of our other antique stores that were already here in Latonia. Wanted to really like this place but it felt as if that was the only reason to go here. Needs some improvements and more breakfast options. Still holding out hope for this business! read more

Today I had the pleasure of having several wonderful cocktails and meeting the owner of The Roost in Latonia. I cannot recommend this place enough! All the staff were wonderful and knowledgeable. The owner was a delight. The decor, items for sale, and atmosphere was wonderful. While asking about the Drinks they offer, the owner recommended us having a seat wherever we are comfortable and she would bring the drinks to us. We were delighted to see her with a mimosa and a Bahama mama, both were delicious. We look forward to many afternoons and weekends socializing at The Roost! If my review were based only on atmosphere and staff congeniality, I could easily give 5 stars. Cute, cute shop. Friendly and passionate storekeepers. To me, the coffee quality is just as important, and unfortunately, it was super watered down in both hot and iced varieties. Just not what we were hoping for. They are a new shop, opening in a troubled time (pandemic), so I am hopeful this will improve as they gain experience. Pulling a robust and tasty shot of espresso is an art.
