You don't even necessarily have to assemble yourself, each product in the store also lists an assembly price. Because many of the items are special purchases, items rotate in the the store, so if they don't have precisely what you are looking for this trip, they might next time. Recently, we went back to their store to purchase a couch, swivel chair and ottoman. We were met by Carolynn (owner) and selected a couch and ottoman by Smith Brothers and tried several swivel/gliders but none "fit". Carolynn checked dimensions of a Smith Brothers chair online and recommended it. I repeatedly stated I did not feel comfortable buying a chair I couldn't sit in first but she was very convincing that the dimensions were what I was looking for. She was extremely helpful in picking out fabrics that blended well together but that's where the story goes awry. The furniture was delivered and I immediately called her after sitting in the chair. I explained that my feet didn't even touch the floor and the chair didn't fit. She told me to come back into the showroom and select another chair and she would "work with me" on it. She said they would take the original one back for a small restocking fee. She said she was busy with another customer (which I totally understand) and told me to take fabric home and call her to proceed with order. I called her three times on three different days and left messages but she would not return my call. I finally called and left a message that I found it hard to believe that over a four-day period, someone was too busy to make a five minute phone call. She finally returned my call the fifth day. It was then she informed me that they set their restocking fee on a "case by case" basis and that the restocking fee on my chair that cost $1,799 would be $700!!! I told her that seemed a bit extreme but she again insisted it was a case by case basis without explaining how she derived that that astronomical restocking fee. I refuse to pay this unreasonable restocking fee of almost 40% when she would place the chair on her showroom floor and resell it to another customer for the price she sold it to me for in the first place......especially when I was insistent to her I was skeptical of buying a chair I couldn't sit in for fit first. They have lost a long time customer.....she has made it clear she doesn't care. Bottom line is, she is great on the sale but if you have an issue, you may as well hang it up as she will not make anything right.

Urban Timber, located in an even larger store next door sources salvaged logs from our area, as well as Upstate NY (my home!). They involve the customer in every step of the process from picking their piece of wood, to measurement, shape, and even the base. The wood is completely dried and finished on every side making it a lifelong lasting product. While the prices are not inexpensive, you are truly getting a value for the high quality you are receiving. It is an investment. One of the drivers said, "oh I thought you was a boy, and I was wondering why you haven't shoveled your mama's driveway". Fast forward to me opening the bedframe only to discover I did not receive all the hardware needed to assembly the bed frame. I call Cincinnati Overstock Florence Ky and the person answering the phone stated that I need to send an email and she would provide me with that email. I emailed the warranty dept and received a prompt email back from Patrick and he stated that "I needed to take pictures, circles the screws that I did not receive and send a serial number for the bed". I ask him if he could call me, and he stated that "he is not allowed" and my thoughts "What kind of customer service is that" Patrick is definitely not a people person. I won't be sending anyone there. It's bad enough that I knowingly made a purchase of over $1500 with no refund. I did not know that that came with no verbal conversation either. I went to that hardware store with my drawing/ paperwork for the bed and the gentleman there helped me pick out the screws that I needed. I Tried calling Donna the salesperson who helped me form the beginning to share with her what happened, but to no avail. I then went back to the store on their next day they were open, and I met Ciera (salesclerk) and Ben (I'm thinking Maintenace). I asked Ciera if she would not mind if I looked at the bedframe to see what the exact screws look like, and she obliged. Ben walked over and I stated to him what happened, and he was kind enough to go the back stock room and give me the screws I needed. Thank you, Ciera and Ben, for being so NICE AND UNDERSTANDING. At best for the weeklong drama that I had to go through; I should receive a partial refund for the mental anguish and having to sleep on an air mattress because I had no bed to sleep on.

The staff was not pushy at all and were all very welcoming. We came back after falling in love with a sectional, but didn't love the color of the one on display. Tyler, the manager, helped us order it in the color we wanted and was willing to answer any of our questions. We felt the selection was great, and the prices were even greater. We got our sectional for half the factory price. While we hadn't anticipated waiting weeks or months for it to arrive, we're hoping it will be worth the wait when it does get delivered. Unfortunately, the pandemic really put a damper on the furniture industry and delivery times, so it's across the board and not just Overstock with long wait times at the moment.
