Out-of-town teams, beware. After paying $30 just to get in, I witnessed some of the worst home-team advantages I've ever seen. The home team clearly plays all their games here, and it showed. Players from that team were literally telling the umpires what the calls should be, and the umps listened! At one point, a runner from the home team was called out stealing second base. After a long delay because their coach appealed almost every call the umps got together, reversed the call, and said it was interference. This kind of thing happened repeatedly throughout the game. It was so blatant that one of the kids on the home team even yelled, "Just appeal the call, the umps know who pays them!" The whole experience was unfair, frustrating, and honestly sad to watch. I would never and I mean never recommend this place to anyone read more

We've been tubing at both Wilmot and here at the Rock. The differences between the 2 options: - 36" height requirement for The Rock vs 42" height requiremnet - The ticket price for The Rock is more affordable - Wilmot is closer to us in the Chicago North Shore - Wilmot is slightly more organized (and actually push your tubes for you) Whether you come here to The Rock or go to Wilmot it's a lot of fun and a popular winter activity so be sure to book ahead. We originally got tickets for MLK day at the Rock. It turned out to be an unusually warm and wet day so they let me move the tickets to a future date. Only half our family could attend the future date, but they said for a $10 transfer i could move the other half to yet another date. I love that they are super flexible and also respond to emails in record speed (about 20 min this past weekend). I'm from Florida so didn't get to enjoy tubing as a kid, but my winter kids definitely love it and it's become an annual winter adventure for us. I believe our tubing adventures are done for 2023, but we'll see ya next year! read more

This place is extremely overrrated and overpriced. It's like $30 to get in and see a baseball game and the bathrooms smell terrible. The concessions is overpriced - coming from a travel sports mom that says a lot. And the kicker is, if they can throw in a PTA team into your tournament at the last minute (home field advantage) - they will. Screwed up our times at the last minute. Do better. read more

Tubing at Rock Sports Complex is a GREAT time that everyone should do at least once per (winter) season. This place really has all the angles covered from the time you arrive to the time you leave. There is ample parking and they couldn't make it any easier when you arrive: either walk inside to get on your gear (in the warmth), perhaps grab a bite to eat, or just pick up your tickets and start enjoying! They have a shop that sells gear (skiing/snow boarding or just winter in general) and the food offering is on par - delicious hot chocolate. While we've never gone on the ski hill we have tubed several times and each time is a really fun time. Basically, you grab a tube, pick a lane, and enjoy! The trip back up is even easier thanks to the "magic" carpet. The best part is that the staff is super chill about everything and that really helps contribute to everyone's level of fun. On this particular visit they were very accommodating for our younger riders and that was such a big help! Honestly, I can't say enough good things about the place and we've been several times this season already. If you're looking for a fun day out with the family then check this spot out - it's definitely worth a drive (we came from Chicago)! read more

This place has really built up more since it's first inception. You have to really follow the signs or know where you're going typically, because it's all the way at the top of the hill and you may miss the signage if you don't know to look for it. It was crazy busy on Saturday due to their live country cover band, but thankfully they had people directing folks on overflow parking and a few other drink stands besides the main bar. There were 30 minute lines for drinks and standing room only to see the band - crazy! I typically like that it's not super crowded, you can sit around the fire pit or play bags, and enjoy the views, but it was fun to see it super lively too. I've always had good service whenever I've come, but of course only order simple drinks - they're not a fancy cocktail bar by any means. read more

What a great venue! It's amazing to see the variety of gathering spaces, sports activities, and just plain fun things to do here. I recently visited to hear Michael Scott perform. Such a good show against a backdrop of this well executed complex. The parking lot can be a bit confusing to navigate but all in all, what a great addition to the southwest suburbs. read more

Went glow tubing on a Friday night with a group of friends and it was great fun! It's a modest snowpark with two 6 lane areas meant for tubing. The tubes are sprawled on the side of the park for people to pick up, and the lining up/flow of the tubing area is efficient. Great for groups! We'll be coming again. read more

If the Rock wasn't so far out of the way and in the middle of basically nowhere this place would rule. I guess though it was makes it special. Nestled in Franklin Wisconsin is one hell of a spot with a view. The Rock is a sports complex serving mountain bikers, skiers, baseball fans and I'm sure a few other sports and events. They have 7 or so fields for baseball and I had the pleasure of watching my nephew play in a little league championship here. The fields are well maintained. It was an enjoyable time. Towards the top of the peak of the area the Rock has one of the most unique bars I've seen. Plenty of room and a gigantic well maintained patio to boot. Reasonable drink prices and jenga and 3 or so bags setup to get your game on. This was the highlight and I imagine a great place to chillax on nice summer evenings/nights. All in all the Roick setup is solid. It's just far off the beaten path for me. Also no food aside from pizza you can get delivered. Ambiance 5 stars Distance 1 star read more

Came here to watch my nephews baseball game and with impressed with the complex. First off great condition of the fields. Refreshment stands close by for some chips, hotdogs, soda and beer. I went to the umbrella bar up top and what a great bar. I was impressed with their selection of beers and drinks. The views from here are spectacular! I will be coming back to listen to some bands on the weekend and when the fall colors come out. read more

Finally tried this place on Saturday after hearing so many things. Very nice view if you sit outside of the bar, although it's not bad from inside the bar area either. It was warm on Saturday so I did notice sitting in the bar area was rather warm and uncomfortable. The bartender that served us wasn't all the friendly at first but seemed a little more social once we got our second drink. A band started around 6 but we didn't stay, of the little bit I heard they sounded pretty good. Overall, I would recommend this place when it's not busy. The bar area was small so if they get busy I can only imagine how long it would take to get a drink. We also found a little friend. read more

I am not a sports-doer, so if you went to know about sports fields, bike trails and whatever other healthy people stuff the Rock has, I can't help you. I can help you with a solid recommend for their outdoor bar on a sunny day. We met a group for one of their Food Truck nights and had a delightful time. They had a good variety of trucks (6+) and had 2 bars serving drinks. The view from the bar is spectacular! It's like being up at Holy Hill, but with patio furniture and shitty wine. I didn't see any wait staff so you go up to the bar if you need a thing. There's also live music sometimes - that can be good or bad. In our case, the singer was good but they had it cranked up to 11 meaning we were shouting to hear one another. Get there early for food truck nights as the parking lot is limited and shared with all the softball teams. read more

We reserved our ski rental online as the rules specified. Within that reservation you are required to detail your pickup time for said rental. This brings the issue....we checked in at our previously specified time and there were NO rentals. They gave us two options - 1. A refund and leave or 2. Go buy some overpriced, less than mediocre food and wait until they have our specified rental available. I was told they were trying a new system out and have found some errors. It was disappointing to have arrived on time as required to specify in our rental and be told - sorry, you're out of luck. read more

Be sure to check out and support this new facility! This place is totally awesome now that it's been redone. The new owners/operators are really putting a lot of love into the facility and seem to be doing things right! The softball diamonds are beautiful, the gravity logic MTB trails are super fun to ride, and most importantly -- they are building a super awesome BMX track there! I'm still waiting for that to open though, so stay tuned. The sweet umbrella patio and bar is not dog friendly (unfortunately), but it is kid friendly! So your curious about the Rock Sports Complex... We have been here many times, mostly stopping at the bar for a drink or two. The bar itself isn't large by any stretch. But they have a nice outdoor patio area when the weather allows. The drinks are a bit pricey. They are served in a plastic cup with copious amounts of ice. It would be nice if the Rock, would have food and or snacks available at all times. The Rock Sports Complex hosts many events to include baseball tournaments, haunted houses, live music and my favorite food trucks. I will continue to patron The Rock Sports Complex, hopefully with a few tweaks they can be even better. I will say this, my understanding is there are more things in the works at The Rock. With the bounty of construction equipment around it is sure to bring something new to The Rock. If your are into baseball, their baseball diamonds are some of the best around. I have not seen many better than these in this area. So come have a drink, watch a game and check out the great views. read more

Went tubing with the family 3/1/14 and it was a great time. Warm chalet, safe fun tube hill with a great 'magic carpet' so you don't have to walk up the hill. It's similar to riding and escalator to the top of the hill. Staff were supportive and alert. The place was packed with tubers, skiers and mostly snowboarders. The baseball fields are in great shape but its not a family friendly atmosphere at all. They allow smoking around the fields and there is typically a guy smoking a big cigar and the smoke gets into the bleachers where my wife and son sit. Also there is no place for little kids to play. There is no protective netting up top like many complexes that have 4 fields next to each other and I saw a child get hit in the head by a foul ball that would have never happened if the proper netting was in place. While I enjoy the area up by the umbrella bar it is also not a place to bring your children. The manager, Scottie, seems to have no problem dropping the F bomb in front of customers, which included children. read more

I agree with Virginia. People, definitely go out to The Rock and support this awesome facility. I'll speak of the mountain bike trails because that's what I'm familiar with. What we have in Franklin is awfully unique for the flat terrain of Wisconsin. The gravity/downhill trails were built by Gravity Logic out of British Columbia. These guys are HUGE in the mountain biking world, and are responsible for the world-class Whistler bike park and countless others in North America. They offer multiple runs from beginner to double-black-diamonds, so you can rest assure that there is something for everybody. For now, I know they're running a promotion. $60 gets you a lesson, bike and equipment rental, session pass for the lift to take you and your bike to the top of the hill, and hours of guaranteed fun! I used to be a big downhill rider back in my past life in So Cal, so I'm looking forward to building my bike back up to hit the trails. If pedaling is more of your thing, you can link up to the Alpha Trail from The Rock and get some relatively easy miles through Whitnall Park. All I can say is that the facility is an amazing addition to the Midwestern mountain biking scene. Gravity junkies no longer have to drive to the UP of Michigan to get their adrenaline going! read more

If I could give it ZERO stars, I would ... DO NOT GO ADULT TUBING if you do NOT have own a helmet. First and foremost, I did not think it was as dangerous as it seemed-their website depiction is that of a sledding hill with lanes. I wish they would have asked during the cluster of a check-in process whether I had been snow-tubing before there and had recommended a helmet. Yes, because snowboarders who use the SAME lanes wore helmets, so why wouldn't the tubers!? I suffered a concussion hitting one of the tubing walls - how it happened, I can't really tell you because I blacked out. I was told that had my friend NOT been hanging on to my tube I would have flown over the wall and into the next lane possibly sustaining further injury. My head injury was serious enough for me to go to the ER, have a CT and have to be cleared by a physician. Yes, this is serious. Please, please, please wear a helmet if you choose to go to this place. Let's not forget to mention that ANOTHER gentleman flew over the wall prior to us going down. AND ANOTHER gentleman suffered face lacerations going down a lane. At one point, after my accident and the other gentleman's accident, they "closed" the lanes. To do what? I have no idea because they were opened again. If this was a legitimate ski facility, they would have more knowledge on the condition of their facility - icy and dangerous and provide helmets for rental or require them during said conditions. My friend who is a PA administered first aid to the gentleman with the face injuries with FOOD SERVICE gloves the teenage staff provided. I'm surprised they even had a band-aid on hand. Another thing to mention, someone did come to my aid on the hill/land- and he immediately tried to MOVE me and my friends screamed at him to stop. I can't imagine he was trained in ANY kind of first aid whatsoever. The people "manning" the lanes looked like they were patrons hanging out in the bar and the manager told them to do him a favor. This facility is a joke- unprofessional to the nth degree. After my accident, a young gentleman's biggest concern was me signing a release even though I signed a waiver prior to participating. I have no intention of suing but i want ANYONE and EVERYONE who is interested in going to this place to practice EXTREME caution and to protect themselves. read more

While the atmosphere at the location was very vice, the service at the umbrella bar was not. The bartenders at the establishment are young, rude and not customer friendly. So my rating is for the the rock snow park. A lot of this depends on what you're looking for. It did not meet my expectations. I paid $145 for a private ski lesson for 1.5 hr, rental, and 4hr lift ticket. The actual park and areas to ski are pretty limited. Snow was really icy. But the most disappointing was the lesson. I don't feel like I learned anything new. And the lesson was from a high school kid. I was expecting someone with more experience. I'm sure he would do great with young kids! But it just wasn't the advanced type of lesson I was hoping for or expecting. Overall though, it looked really family friendly. read more

We had a 12U Baseball tournament this past weekend at this venue. We are from the Indianapolis area and traveled for it. We paid more for this tournament than all the other tournaments we had done. We were excited to check out these replica fields. The fields were beautiful maintained. I guess I expected to be able to notice the difference between the different fields, which I did not other than the monster wall. The fields they had us playing on were way too short for our age level and the field back fence apparently was not tall enough. We had hits that bounced over the fence. We had kids hit home runs that hadn't before this season and the umpires wouldn't let us keep the home run balls because the were "RUNNING OUT OF BALLS". We had several issues with the Umpires. Our first game, the umpire called an illegal play call that was not illegal, which we just had to deal with. It was later clarified with the head umpires and the move was legal. We had two plays were the same field umpire got in the way, two different rulings as to what happen after that. We had an umpire make a call based on what a player told him happen twice. One of the times we objected the outcome got changed but not the call itself. Saturday we requested the head tournament umpire come to our field and speak with the coach, we were told because of the heat the umpires were dropping like flies and he had to stay at the big fields. We then asked for the tournament director to come and got the biggest run a round I have ever seen. We had to ask three different people, got many different excuses and finally got a lady that said sure no problem let me call me. Why, if it was that easy, was it so hard? He obviously only came down so that he could say that he responded. He had been informed who wanted to see him but just stood behind the net and spoke very briefly to umpire. One of the team mom asked if he was the director he asked what was going on. She told him that our coach had some concerns with the umpires and showed him which one the coach was. He never talked to the coach. He watched for a few minutes and told the umpire that he was heading back to the big fields. read more

Played kickball on the sweetest fields kickball has ever seen. A good group of friends, beer and high spirits. It was a fun and exciting night of adult kickball leagues. I skied here about five years ago when I first moved to Wisconsin. Being from Ohio, expectations are certainly not high when it comes to Midwest skiing and I had an ok time. I live in downtown Milwaukee so I stopped by last night to try and get a few laps in after work. Poor decision. The two long runs that run under the lift were not open, although it has been cold enough to make snow everyday for the past two months. The terrain park wasn't terrible but the sheer lack of people on the ski hill gave the place a very spooky vibe. Rode around for an hour then went home to watch Seinfeld re-runs. Do yourself a solid and head to Sunburst/Alpine if you're considering riding here. read more

The "Umbrella" bar was an exceptional location for a large group of family from near and far to hang out on a beautiful (hot) Friday evening in September. My daughter's wedding weekend, we were staying at the Hampton inn on 76th and Rawson and decided to move the party here. Great (affordable) drinks, lots of room to spread out and enjoy the view...sorry didn't watch the baseball games. Thank you it was a memorable start to a beautiful weekend. read more

Took the family tubing and was very disappointed. This year there were tracks cut with bends and turns as opposed to straight speed tracks. The problem as I could tell was that they were very poorly done. Practically no speed could be achieved and getting stuck or stopped half way down the tracks was common even for a 200+ lb adult! We tried for about 45 minutes before giving up and leaving. At $64 for 4 people it was a very bad experience. read more

Do not go here for skiing/snowboarding. It is mid-holiday season, and they only had one single magic carpet lift open, yet the website raves about having "the best" skiing and snowboarding... LIES! The owners appear to have no idea how to run a business or a ski hill. The customer service is terrible and the place is overrun with small children thanks to the tubing hill. If you have small children or are just learning to ski/board, maybe this is your place, but be warned, this place is the Chuck E Cheese of "snowsports." read more
