This menu is extremely outdated. Came in to find prices have more than doubled. Plus $10 fee for sharing a meal. Unfortunately, this tainted our opinion before the food was ever served. The food tasted good, but there are less expensive restaurants nearby with better food. Ambiance was intimate and seemed authentic. Server was friendly but only one water refill for the whole meal. I guess she assumed her tip was going to be small since we weren't hungry or drinking alcohol...so we were not worth her time. Sorry...but we lived up to her assumption. read more

Party of 3, but ordered 4 dinners so we could share. $264 before tip. The filet seemed smaller than 6oz and was undercooked but OK. I had the short rib with what I thought was supposed to be a saffron risotto. May be mistaken on the saffron as there wasn't any specks of it. It was undercooked and flavorless and the short rib was dry. We shared the butternut squash ravioli which had to be cut with a steak knife and was swimming in oil and lacked flavor. My wife and I had a night out last Saturday, made a reservation at the ROC, haven't been there in some time, loved the atmosphere before and good food. We expected the prices to be upper scale, but this was a shocker. Ricotta Spaghetti was nearly $30 without protein. 6oz. Sliced beef Tenderloin plate with a few vegetables was $58. House Moscato wine, $10/May 6-8 oz. Glass.. 6pm Saturday,we were the only ones in the restaurant. We never saw another person the entire time. I recall going there a year and half ago, it was packed. The prices are far too high for that area, and the portions offered. The owners need to wake up,save a once lively and enjoyable experience. Wake up, your doing something to drive away your customers. Spaghetti without meat or seafood cannot sell for $29! We felt sorry for our waitress (who did a nice job) when there are zero customers on a Saturday night. read more

We went here for Valentines and ordered the ribeye $85. I go out to eat often and always get a steak all over the state and country. Their steak was so full of elastin and tendons it was not eatable and the flavor was bland. I was able to cut around a bit but over half the steak was sent back to dispose of. I spoke with the owner and she said "sorry" that's it. She did not offer a discount or another steak. The waitress was not attentive at all either. Save your money, do not eat here. read more

This is a fine restaurant. The food is good and tasty. The service is helpful too. We went there yesterday after my father in law' s funeral. There was about a dozen of us, no reservation. I would go to Gordon's food service before I would go back here. I don't know how it's possible for a restaurant to make that much bad food, but dang, they did it. We make our own pasta and Alfredo at home and it's far better than anything I have had here. I had the seafood linguine and not only were the shrimp and scallops overcooked, there were two scallops and three shrimp. The sauce was broken. Hubby liked his steak, but the couple we were with got a broken Alfredo sauce and dry gnocchi. I'm convinced this is a local bar dreaming of being a fancy restaurant and falling far short of that goal. The taco place a few blocks away is much better. read more

My husband and I dined at The Roc for our anniversary tonight. Everything was wonderful! The atmosphere was cozy and romantic, our server Chelsey was personable, knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. My cocktail ( Caramel apple mule) was beyond good. The calamari was crispy and not at all rubbery. I had the ricotta gnocchi and it was absolutely delicious. My husband had the cowboy ribeye and it came out cooked a perfect medium rare and he said it was delicious. We finished with the dulce de leche which was also very good. read more

Food is absolutely remarkable and beyond expectations. We go for birthdays, holidays, and anything in between . The Fiorelli owners are remarkable people. The wine list is unbelievable. My boyfriend and I had the best experience here. He reserved a table and was very specific about where we wanted to be seated. He's a gushing romantic I hope he's not reading this . The staff was very helpful at suggesting the fire place area so we would have more of an area to talk and was accommodating even when it was a few hours in advance on his end. The lighting is ominous, and relaxed when you get to the dinner area of the Roc. Upstairs seemed to be more for smaller parties/ wedding reception or bridal shower dinners (still cozy I peeked !) I like how the bathrooms are completely away from the seating area your not in height view of them at all for dinner. He ordered the cowboy rib eye medium rare , I ordered the chicken alla roma. No complaints on either dinners and we went with a white wine (go bottle you know you'll drink more than a glass) . Thank you for having us and we will definitely be back . read more

My one visit back to Michigan always happens over Mother's Day Weekend. My mother chose to try a new place for brunch than our usual. The Roc delivered beautifully. Located off of E Huron River Drive, it's located where Fiorelli's once was. We made reservations ahead of time of our party of 6. The brunch is set up buffet style with more than plenty to choose from. The brunch offers your usual salads, meats & cheeses, fruits and breads. It also includes, salmon, chicken, pastas, sautéed vegetables and stuffed mushrooms. They have a side carving table of prime rib. The salmon was a bit overcooked but the rest of the options were great. I can't forget about the generous options on the dessert table. After eating way too much for my main meal, I still had to try a few to complete my meal. Perfect. If you read my reviews, you'll notice my love for coffee. Since I was having brunch I had to have a few cups. Well the smooth and intense flavor from their coffee made my refills more than 2. Since I was focused on conversation I forgot to ask the brew they used. I would go back just for that to say the least. It certainly gave me quite a bit of energy. The several waitress that were checking on our table were attentive and welcoming. I think they knew I was drinking my coffee quickly and always came around with more. WOW, WOW, WOW. Just ate dinner here for the first time. Had the Salmon dish. Absolutely perfectly cooked, so many delicious flavors in the accoutrements that my taste buds are are dancing. The twisty bread that is made from pizza dough left overs smelled so heavenly and tasted even better with its buttery cap. Dipped in pizza sauce made it even more memorable. I also had the house salad with their balsamic with parmesan dressing to accompany that. Fantastic. Service was excellent and I ordered the Salmon on a recommendation from the waitress. The restaurant is on a quiet, lonely road with not much else near it on that street. So my first impression walking in was a little weird. It's kind of in a basement and it's small. There was also a slightly unpleasant smell. Even after dinner when I got up to go to the bathroom upstairs for a minute and came back down I smelled it again. There is no fresh air down there and it was so stuffy to the point that my sinuses were starting to act up. So they need a better type of ventilation or something. So the food is sooooooooooo good. The bread was served fresh out of the oven, hot/soft/buttery, and came with some kind of pizza/marinara sauce to dip it in. As an app, we got the open faced stuffed mushrooms with cheese and sausage. First of all, they need to change the name because it was in no way open face or stuffed. I expected like a portabella stuffed with the ingredients but it was just a bunch of whole white mushrooms with the sauce, cheese and sausage. But it was AMAZING anyways. Like amazing. Delicious. You need to order it. The crunchy little bread crumbs on top are a great touch! I ordered the chicken dish with the feta/pasta and that was a really good/different kind of chicken. My entree also came with a house salad. It's your average house salad, nothing to rave about but nice that it comes with it. The person I was with got a New York strip steak ordered medium. There was a SMALL portion in the middle that was medium but it was mostly medium well. It still had a really good flavor to it anyways. For dessert we got the lava cake with ice cream. GET THE LAVA CAKE. You will not regret it. It literally tasted heavenly. read more

When you go here, have a pizza. Incredible. The atmosphere felt all wrong on entering and it was hard to find (though I think there's a sign now to show they are who they say they are). But once we came downstairs, it was awesome. Felt like a speakeasy in all the right ways. Very mellow, perfectly lit. I just loved being down there, feeling special. We shared a pizza and my wife got some wine. Some of the best food I've ever had and she nags me every time we want to go out to return. Maybe some day we shall. read more

Hidden Downriver Gem! No joke! it's in the basement. Beautiful decor, great staff, decent wine list. Who knew this classy place was in Flat Rock?? Perch and veal chop were equally delicious. My wife and I enjoyed date night at The ROC. This was our first visit to the establishment. Nice atmosphere and the food was good too. The only thing, which wasn't a big deal, was we were placed next to a closet or area where they were putting dishes. It was drafty and they kept opening and closing the door. What an amazing spot that I wish I had heard about sooner! The wine and meal were both fantastic and love the decor/atmosphere. The twisty bread was great and we had the caprese salad and calamari to start - both were delicious. They have a great wine list and I had the Montepulciano while my friend had the Malbec. We were both very happy with our choices. For dinner, I had the chicken Glorioso - a-mazing!!! Very garlicky, which I love and the sauce was not too heavy with garlic pasta. #yum! To finish it off, we had the deep fried cheese cake. Different and definitely hit the spot. Really, a fantastic meal, all around. Cannot wait to go back and try some other dishes and wine! read more

FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS THE WORST WE HAVE EXPERIENCED IN YEARS!!!! Party of 10 for New Years Eve. Had reservations. Our server was great, however they separated us into 2 groups with 2 different servers, wives at one table husbands at the other. Our server said no problem they could put our bills with our husbands at the end which turned into total humiliation and chaos. I suggested they just give us girls our bills and we could hand them to our husbands and the server tried to add them separately to our guys who were at a different table with a completely different server. WHAT?? OMG. They ended up taking us upstairs to fix it 45 minutes later and was told oh we won't do this again. She's right. we will never be back. My brother who doesn't have a harsh word to anyone or complain about anything tried talking to the owner about his $65 New York Strip that he had to send back because he couldn't even chew it. The owner said "well I don't know what to tell you, we just had them cut today" and refused to take it off his bill despite it having to be sent back. My sister in law had the same situation with her not being able to chew it. She ordered medium rare and it was VERY RARE and was still so tough. We understand on New Year's Eve they raise prices but they gave a very limited menu, Our group spending over $1000 and we were treated so bad. 10 of us. We are a large group of friends that get together a lot. We could have brought them a lot of business in the future. NONE of us will be back. Word of mouth Roc. Once you find the side entrance off the parking lot and make your way down to the restaurant, you feel as though you've walked out of downriver and into a quant Italian bistro. The only suggestions I would make is to add a second door to the entrance to better control the cold air when the front door is opened. Also, add a soup. This is one of my most favorite restaurants downriver! The roc is a hidden gem, it is located in what looks like a banquet hall, in the basement, so it is hard to find if you're not looking. Also it opens at 3:00 PM! So best for dinner. The dining area is small and cozy. It has a great, warm ambiance, fireplace, stone walls, etc. Sometimes there is a live band performing. Additionally, there is a full bar and they have a great wine selection! It has great Italian food, the portions are very large if you get an entree. My personal favorite from the restaurant is their pizza, it is the best I've had, so highly recommended! Also, when you are seated you are given twisted, which is their bread, and it is so good! Worth it just for the bread, and I would recommend getting marinara dipping sauce for the bread. read more

Was looking forward to finally visit on a Tuesday for some tasting night. The atmosphere as nice and cozy. As far as the tasting,we probably won't come back. My husband and I were disappointed. I understand if you don't want the customer to pick their three wines for tasting,but it would have been nice to have a variety,not all dry wines. For ten dollars we were supposed to receive three tastings and a cheese plate. We only received one cheese plate. My boyfriend and I dined here tonight. First off the service was absolutely terrible, we had to ask to be helped. The bar tender snubbed her nose when we said we didn't have a reservation. We were told the only seats available for us were at the bar. When We sat down it took the waitress 15 minutes to even acknowledge us. Once she did it seemed she was very rushed. We orderd a ribeye steak and chicken Alfredo... the Alfredo sauce was sour and bland. The steak was under seasoned. The only thing good was the bread. The waitress was un-attentive. We felt in the way. Our bill was high, we had a $25 off coupon, when our waitress took off the $25 she added a 18% tip which she definitely wasn't worth. Husband ordered a Woodford Reserve on the rocks - drink was $13 not too bad - but they charged an additional $2 for on the rocks - which means they charge for ice!!!! My dirty martini was $17 and they didn't have stuffed olives. Dinner with tip was $145. We don't even spend that much at some of the fancier restaurants we go to. read more
