Great atmosphere with some good food. Excellent selection of bourbon as well. The Insalata Anna Maria is a great simple salad and highly recommended. Pizza was good as well.

My boyfriend and I had the best experience here. He reserved a table and was very specific about where we wanted to be seated. He's a gushing romantic I hope he's not reading this . The staff was very helpful at suggesting the fire place area so we would have more of an area to talk and was accommodating even when it was a few hours in advance on his end. The lighting is ominous, and relaxed when you get to the dinner area of the Roc. Upstairs seemed to be more for smaller parties/ wedding reception or bridal shower dinners (still cozy I peeked !) I like how the bathrooms are completely away from the seating area your not in height view of them at all for dinner. He ordered the cowboy rib eye medium rare , I ordered the chicken alla roma. No complaints on either dinners and we went with a white wine (go bottle you know you'll drink more than a glass) . Thank you for having us and we will definitely be back .

My one visit back to Michigan always happens over Mother's Day Weekend. My mother chose to try a new place for brunch than our usual. The Roc delivered beautifully. Located off of E Huron River Drive, it's located where Fiorelli's once was. We made reservations ahead of time of our party of 6. The brunch is set up buffet style with more than plenty to choose from. The brunch offers your usual salads, meats & cheeses, fruits and breads. It also includes, salmon, chicken, pastas, sautéed vegetables and stuffed mushrooms. They have a side carving table of prime rib. The salmon was a bit overcooked but the rest of the options were great. I can't forget about the generous options on the dessert table. After eating way too much for my main meal, I still had to try a few to complete my meal. Perfect. If you read my reviews, you'll notice my love for coffee. Since I was having brunch I had to have a few cups. Well the smooth and intense flavor from their coffee made my refills more than 2. Since I was focused on conversation I forgot to ask the brew they used. I would go back just for that to say the least. It certainly gave me quite a bit of energy. The several waitress that were checking on our table were attentive and welcoming. I think they knew I was drinking my coffee quickly and always came around with more. It was a successful brunch with the best mom in the world!

Perfection on a plate and on your palate.

WOW, WOW, WOW. Just ate dinner here for the first time. Had the Salmon dish. Absolutely perfectly cooked, so many delicious flavors in the accoutrements that my taste buds are are dancing. The twisty bread that is made from pizza dough left overs smelled so heavenly and tasted even better with its buttery cap. Dipped in pizza sauce made it even more memorable. I also had the house salad with their balsamic with parmesan dressing to accompany that. Fantastic. Service was excellent and I ordered the Salmon on a recommendation from the waitress. She knows her menu. I will be back very soon

    Lava cake!! Wow!! Amazing!

The restaurant is on a quiet, lonely road with not much else near it on that street. So my first impression walking in was a little weird. It's kind of in a basement and it's small. There was also a slightly unpleasant smell. Even after dinner when I got up to go to the bathroom upstairs for a minute and came back down I smelled it again. There is no fresh air down there and it was so stuffy to the point that my sinuses were starting to act up. So they need a better type of ventilation or something. So the food is sooooooooooo good. The bread was served fresh out of the oven, hot/soft/buttery, and came with some kind of pizza/marinara sauce to dip it in. As an app, we got the open faced stuffed mushrooms with cheese and sausage. First of all, they need to change the name because it was in no way open face or stuffed. I expected like a portabella stuffed with the ingredients but it was just a bunch of whole white mushrooms with the sauce, cheese and sausage. But it was AMAZING anyways. Like amazing. Delicious. You need to order it. The crunchy little bread crumbs on top are a great touch! I ordered the chicken dish with the feta/pasta and that was a really good/different kind of chicken. My entree also came with a house salad. It's your average house salad, nothing to rave about but nice that it comes with it. The person I was with got a New York strip steak ordered medium. There was a SMALL portion in the middle that was medium but it was mostly medium well. It still had a really good flavor to it anyways. For dessert we got the lava cake with ice cream. GET THE LAVA CAKE. You will not regret it. It literally tasted heavenly.

I highly suggest going here and giving it a try. Happy drinking!!!

There's little going on in this area, with zero shops or other restaurants nearby. Park on the side street, it's fine. We went there for a special occasion. Make that reservation, you'll need it. Empty tables don't exist for more than a few minutes, and they are packed in. Servers are laid back, knowledgeable, and friendly. Not in the "corporate wants me to smile", but genuine. I think the employees like working here! The food was amazing. If you want to pair the wine, ask for a suggestion. I'm so glad we did, both the red and the white wines we had complemented the food perfectly. The menu changes regularly, so what we ordered likely won't be available next week. Except the bread - I rarely eat any bread, but I'm glad I did this evening. Tables are small, but so are the plates. Share your food, there's just too many good things to try. And yes, even dessert was amazing. Dress up or not, doesn't matter. Anything goes. A sport coat is fine, but so are sweaters and sneakers. Entrance is a really plain door on the side, not at all where we expected it to be - and with very little indication of where it was. Dolce V is the new Italian spot from the same family that previously owned the much-loved Dolce…read moreVita Italian Cucina on Fort Street in Riverview (according to the Detroit Free Press). For longtime fans, like me, that connection alone sets expectations high! Thankfully, many of the classics that I remember have made the move, including favorites like the Linguine Pescatore. Overall, the good far outweighed the bad during our visit, but since Dolce V had only been open about two months at the time of this review, there were a few little hiccups that are worth mentioning. The Negatives Let's start with the challenges. The restaurant itself is very small, which means limited seating. When every table is full, as it was during our visit, the space becomes quite loud, making conversation difficult. This is definitely not the spot for an intimate or quiet dinner. Pricing was another slight negative. Bread is not included and comes with a $6 upcharge, the starter salad is also a $6 uncharge ($4 if you order an entrée). On top of that, there is a 3% credit card fee, which we didn't notice until the bill came. So, by the end of the meal, it felt like we were being nickel and dimed, and that feeling detracted a bit from the overall experience. Unfortunately, the bread itself didn't justify the $6 cost, it wasn't warm, and the butter was underwhelming (honestly, our butter tub at home is better). While the salads were very good, paying extra for what many restaurants include as standard can be frustrating. The Positives Now for the highlights, and there were many! Portion sizes are generous, to say the least. Both my husband and I took home leftovers, which is always a win. The clear standout of the night was the appetizer Arancini, easily one of the best I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked rice, cheese and meat on the inside. Full of flavor, it's a must-order! For entrées, my husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and I chose the Shrimp Scampi. Both dishes were very good, and you could absolutely tell they were made fresh, not from frozen chicken or shrimp. That attention to quality matters, and it showed. While the salads came with an upcharge, they were large for a side salad and had fancy lettuce and toppings, and I especially loved the house-made creamy Italian dressing. That dressing alone might convince me to order the salad again, even with the extra cost! A small but appreciated touch was that the beer was ice-cold and served in a frosty glass, which always elevates the experience. Final Thoughts All in, our date night with beers, bread, appetizer, salads, and entrées - came in at just over $100. It's definitely on the pricey side, but not unreasonable given the portion sizes and fresh food quality. You could easily skip the add-ons and up charges to make the meal more affordable and still have a very good meal experience! This is a must try in my opinion, just go in knowing what to expect in advance! We will definitely be back very soon!
