My former colorist/mother-in-law sadly moved out of town. I put off getting my color done as long as possible, but when my husband commented I knew it was time. I decided to try Mallory based on her Yelp reviews and website, and I'm so happy I did. She had great instincts and did a fantastic job working with my existing color to create a gorgeous low-maintenance look. My mother-in-law loved it when she saw me this week. Thanks so much Mallory! read more

On what seems to be my never-ending search for the perfect stylist, I found Mallory through a Lifebooker Loot I had purchased. I purchased an Ombre highlight with a cut and style. What a great experience! Mallory is so sweet and talented. She spends a lot of time making sure your hair is top notch and will not leave you looking less than dazzling! Excellent consultation. Mallory took the time to listen to me and my needs and really care about delivering for me. She did just what I was looking for. I LOVE the cut, and the coloring is beautiful. I left feeling and looking great. It was my first time visiting and I will definitely be coming back! :) read more

Not only did she transform my CURLY hair (that i have been struggling with daily for 26 years of my life) she gave me the best tips on what to do to keep maintaining it! I absolutely dread going to a hairdresser and sitting in the chair for hours, but Mallory made the time pass so quickly and she is one of the sweetest people i have ever met. Thank you for my awesome haircut and keratin treatment! It works beautifully! I will never go to a different hairdresser in LA! :) read more

Mallory has been cutting my hair for years and I adore what she does! I moved to Portland five years ago and I still have her do my hair when I come down. She does excellent red color (something I've had challenges with in the past) and beautiful long layers on my hair. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She's professional and truly listens to my needs. Thanks Mallory! read more

Mallory by far is the BEST hair stylist, period!!! I have mixed/curly hair & she can don't hair better than most black salons I've been to. My hair is super bouncy with volume & I always get tons of comments. She's quick, affordable, & so down to earth. I loves me some Mallory T!! read more

Look and feel like a celebrity with Hair by Mallory! I have curly hair which was in dire need of a haircut. I had been planning for almost a year to go to a Deva Salon (where they are trained to cut curly hair and charge a lot). Me and my wallet were so glad to learn that Mallory is Deva cut certified... even more impressive is that after speaking with me about how I like to wear my hair she recommended me to think about not getting it. LOL Her explanation and confidence is a mark of a true professional. Let me just say, she took me from looking good to looking like a model! I mean, she is a makeup artist too and actually made all my flaws vanish. Anyone that can do that with my hair and skin can surely get my business! I could tell that she knew what she was talking about and I really appreciate when a hair dresser uses their experience to help you look your best. The overwhelming compliments from family, friends and yes strangers too only validates how fabulous I saw myself. Definitely a confidence booster. If you are looking for the best value and true hair expert try Hair by Mallory. She is based out of the San Fernando Valley and is mobile... Get pampered at your home or office and feel and look like a celebrity too! read more

Mallory is amazing!!! I first went to Mallory in January of 2011 and I felt so lucky to find a stylist like her. I hadn't had bangs in 20 years then woke up one morning and decided it was time for a change. A salon had just opened by where I get my nails done and they seemed pretty cool so I made an appointment and went in. I had told the receptionist I want to get bangs for the first time in 20 years and she said she knew exactly who to book my appointment with. She called Mallory "the bang expert." I have to tell you walking into a new salon and going to a new stylist for something so drastic was pretty scary but Mallory made me feel so comfortable. I have not only continued to go to Mallory (since she left that salon) but I have also referred a hand full of people to her and they all love her too. Mallory now does my cut, color, and Keratin treatments. I have to say that Mallory is one of those few people that I would follow almost anywhere because I trust her with my hair. read more

I've been going to Mallory for years! She knows my hair so well, she doesn't push me to try a style I don't want and she's so easy to talk to. I have no desire to even entertain the idea of going to another stylist. read more

Mallory is really great at black hair care. I found her here on yelp and decided to take a chance because of the great reviews. I'm so glad I did! She really knows how to handle black hair. She says it's just a matter of dealing with course and curly hair properties which takes more time but she put in the time and I love the results. Highly recommend her. read more

Not only is Mallory a very talented stylist, she is also friendly and easy to talk to. Mallory is a breath of fresh air after dealing with my snotty, over-priced stylist who I stayed with longer than I care to admit. It's great to have a stylist who I feel like I can communicate with. I have dark hair, and I wanted to be blonde. My former stylist tackled that by placing random highlights in my hair (not cute). Mallory took her time, and I was really happy with the cut and color! And it didn't cost me hundreds of dollars! I'll definitely be back! read more

Mallory is awesome! She really knows hair. I got a Keratin Treatment and I was worried I'd be too straight, but it ended up perfect. The haircut really changed my look exactly the way I wanted. It's hard to communicate with hairdressers, they tend to misunderstand or have a different picture in their mind for your hair, that won't happen with Mallory! Plus, she is super nice! read more

Mallory's salon is located at 3506 Magnolia Blvd. Mallory knows hair. She's one of the most talented colorist I've encountered. She transformed me completely. I look a lot more youthful, and now my hair requires a lot less maintenance, allowing me to have more time with my kids and looking fab. She listened to what I would like the desired end result to be. It was pretty ambitious: black to blonde. In less capable hands it would be a disaster, and a headache to fix. Mallory has a lot of confidence in her talent without being smug or condescending. Her prices are fair and reasonable. Parking is convenient. Background music is great. The place is clean, we have great conversations. I can't wait for her to cut my hair. She wants me to grow the layers a couple of months. I defer to her artistic diagnosis. I'm sure it'll be awesome. read more

I love going to Mallory to get my hair cut. She really cares about her clients and she is very thorough during the consultation. I appreciate how she evaluates my hair and talks with me beforehand to find out exactly what I want and how I want it. I always leave looking and feeling great. I recently went to Mallory to get my hair highlighted for the first time too and she did such an awesoe job! I always get tons of compliments on my highlights because of how natural it looks and even how it enhances my complexion. She is truly a master at her craft and I'm so glad I found someone I trust to do my hair. read more

Absolutely no complaints! Mallory is reasonably priced and flexible in her scheduling. Which is pretty common, I'm sure. Here's where she's a cut above the rest. My hair changes week to week. It'll part in the middle one day then on the left. I have two cowlicks (one in front and one in back). Sometimes the front will lay flat and the back will stick up like Alfalfa. The next day it's reversed! Ugh!! I hate product because that takes time and patience with trying to figure out what my hair is going to do that day. Mallory (with her amazing skills) has some how figured out how to cut it!! (Personally, I think she eyeballs it every time and cuts it accordingly. But who cares. I don't have to worry about my hair anymore.) read more

Not only is Mallory good at what she does, but she is super sweet, makes you feel comfortable and at home, and listens to what you want and definitely meets your expectations. (I speak for myself) She knows what she is doing and even breaks down the science of your hair and recommends the best products for your hair type. You should definitely go to Mallory :) read more

My hair has a WOW factor to all that see me right now thanks to Mallory!!! Mallory saved my hair and reputation! I have a very professional career and I needed to make my hair normal again after it accidentally turned out white blonde on top and yellow at the bottom! I wanted more of the Gisele Buchanan or Jennifer Anniston blonde since my features are darker. Mallory should be awarded a PhD in color correction because she's like a chemist who knows just what to do! She realizes her client's vision for their hair and truly takes the time to listen to what they're looking for. She pressed for many examples in order to stay completely on target. My hair has a perfect butterscotch base, golden highlights and perfect lowlights to define the highlight's depth and dynamic. It looks like a magazine cover! I shine in every room or event I attend - the products she uses are amazing. She's proudly admitting that she is a brand whore and loves only the best! Worth every penny of her price and more! read more

Thank GAWD I found Mallory! I was in desperate need to tame my unruly fizzy hair before my tropical vacation. I needed a keratin treatment on Sunday and had no appointment. Mallory solved all my issues. I left with smooth, beautiful affordable hair and looked great in all my vacation pics! Thanks Mal! read more

I never used to go the salon route for my hair until I started getting my hair cut by Mallory. She's the best at handling my unruly cowlick tornados, and knows how I like to style and keep my hair. It's a no brainer when I go for a cut, and that's how I like my haircuts. Mallory's the best. read more

So disappointed in my appointment. I came in with very light blonde hair. I asked her if I could change my light blonde hair to a light brown hair instead and I even showed her pictures. She told me that it was very doable and that it might be an even lighter reddish brown but I was completely ok with it. After she finished coloring my hair it was almost BLACK. I said I am a little shocked and to try to lighten it a tad so she said ok and she put something on me but it honestly DID NOTHING. I'm so disappointed in myself for paying and giving her a good tip. I thought I was going to be able to deal with it but now that I've had it for a few days I've realized I hated it and am so disappointed in the color I have. Don't get me wrong, she is very sweet which is why I gave her 2 stars instead of 1 but my hair is a mess and is now extremely damaged more than how it was when I came in. Makes me never want to trust any hairstylist ever again... read more

I'm so glad to have found Mallory, but sad that I can't take her with me when I move out of state in a few months. I'm a busy mom and I don't have a lot of time for myself and my hair had been neglected for over 6 months. I have a trip coming up in a few days and reached out to her expecting not to get an appointment so fast. She messaged me back super quickly and could get me in the following evening after my kids were asleep (and hubby was home). This is the only time I have for myself and I appreciated her flexibility by giving me an evening appointment. She gave me a super fun cut and lovely color that I can grow out into and the cut/color will look good for many months to come. She was also such a lovely person and I could have talked to her all evening! She is down to earth, talented and will make you feel beautiful. Thank you for such a great cut/color and for such a lovely time, Mallory! read more

Best haircut in 10 years!!! I have been looking for someone to understand my hair issues and Mallory did!!! I love my hair. Thank you!

Mallory is the best!!!!! It's almost as if I have a new head of hair since going to Mallory for the last 5 years. I don't know how she does it, but my fine/thin hair actually feels and looks thicker after sitting in her chair. She also does the best color. It always looks natural and works with my very low maintenance hair regimen. Mallory also cuts my 3 year old niece's hair. Because Mallory is so sweat and patient, my niece actually looks forward to getting her hair cut now, whereas she used to scream at the sight of scissors! read more

Mallory is great. She puts up with me changing my mind all the time. I highly recommend her for men. She cuts and dyes my hair just how I want it every time. read more

I love this lady! Some time last year, I needed a change. I have a lot of straight, fine hair... and I had been wearing in a bun on the top of my head everyday for MONTHS! I needed help. A girlfriend of mine (with amazing hair, i might add) suggested that I go to MALLORY. And I am so glad I did. She understood my hair in a way that NO ONE really ever has before. She is great with color. She introduced me to a couple of products that changed my life. She is pretty much just all around awesome. I am a fan and you should be too. read more

2.5 stars. I have thin/normal curly hair and have had more than a few terrible hair cuts, so I did a ton of research on different salons and stylists before deciding that Mallory was probably my best bet. I cringed a little at the price tag for a cut (75) but I figured it was worth it to give my curls the care they needed. The good: Mallory definitely knows how to cut curly hair. She understands the importance of shape and layers and knows how to make it happen. My curls are bouncy and I got the volume that I asked for. The bad: She is not a good listener. I was very clear that I was trying to grow my hair out and didn't want length taken off - I only wanted my top layers shortened. She said "don't worry, I'm not scissor happy" so I didn't worry. But there is 2 inches of length completely gone, which is a lot with curly hair. I told her at the end that it was shorter than I wanted and she tried to show me that the back was "long", but it wasn't. She also asked me the same questions multiple times and didn't pay attention to what side my part was on (or ask) and then cut the curls around my face with the part on the wrong side. I didn't say anything only because I was afraid to see more hair get cut off. Overall, Mallory was very nice and clearly skilled, but for $75, I was expecting her to actually listen to me. read more

Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I've been going to Mallory for my hair (brunette with serious silver I have to keep at bay) for almost 4 years. I have to say my hair has never looked better. She got me on a manageable "roots schedule" at a reasonable price. She's easy to book with and is flexible if I need appointment time changes which sometimes happens. My cuts are always "just right" and we always have a blast "shooting the s#it" while I'm in her chair. GREAT!! read more

I am so happy to have found Mallory (thanks, Eliza!). I have annoying red frizzy hair and have been struggling with it for my entire life. Mallory has found a way to tame it, and now I actually love my hair. She has found the perfect cut for it and uses a keratin-straightening procedure which is very gentle but with fabulous results. She has also colored my hair many beautiful different shades of red, but finally convinced me my natural hair color is just fine the way it is. I highly recommend Mallory. She has done with my hair what nobody else could in 42 years. read more

I just can't say enough about Mallory. She is a total gem. She's honest, caring, and really wants you to love your hair! She takes the time and effort to make you feel beautiful. And she's just a lovely person and fun to hang with for a few hours while you get your hair done, too! Can't recommend her enough! read more

My hair has been resurrected after a cut and partial lowlights by Mallory. This is the second time seeing her and again, I'm very pleased. Mallory and I discussed the best way to color my gray roots and determined that partial lowlights would do the trick. Mallory created a gorgeous blend of blond, light brown and golden colors through out my hair...it's pretty stunning and my gray roots are now gone. We've all ready decided that for my next visit, I'll be brave and try a medium brown--I've always wanted to go darker and trust her ability. Mallory is confident, a perfectionist, communicates well, is personable and has a great style--she looks fantastic! The salon is also very clean and decorated nicely and service is very friendly! FIVE GOLD STARS for MALLORY! read more

I'm very particular about my cut and color and I have to say that Mallory is spectacular. She's also very affordable compared to the places I have always gone. If you're looking for a person to give you great color and a stylish cut, call her. She's the best! read more

I've been going to Mallory for several years now and she's truly talented, honest and straightforward. She's efficient and her prices are very fair. Mallory has been doing my hair for almost 2 years now! She is absolutely amazing. Not only is she a great hair stylist, she is also extremely helpful. Mallory did my keratin treatment, and answered all of the many questions I had. It turned out great. She has also done my colors and cuts, all which I have been 110% happy with. She is very reasonably priced, and very good at what she does!!!! read more

Mallory has been working miracles on my crazy curly hair for years! She's the absolute best at explaining whatever cut or treatment I get and gives me really clear and realistic expectations and instructions so that I can replicate the super great results she gets (and that's very important to me after spending half my life bouncing from one disappointing stylist to the next). She also cuts my husband's cowlicky hair and makes him look amazing. I trust Mallory implicitly and would recommend her to anyone!!! read more

Mallory did my hair two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier! She is a true professional! Over the past year, my hair has changed significantly since I had a baby. I had new hair growing in, then I lost a lot of it, then it came back in really curly. Mallory suggested a great new haircut from my longer hair to help get it back on the right track. She was extremely helpful in coming up with the right color for me that made my hair look natural and healthy. Her confidence and knowledge of cutting curly hair made me feel extremely comfortable with this new hair cut of mine. I can't tell you how many compliments I get every day both on my cut and my color! She also does a follow up call to see how you are liking your hair and if you have any questions. I really appreciate the personal attention and thoughtfulness that Mallory gives to each client! I highly recommend her for both cut and color. read more

I moved from Texas and needed a hair stylist. One of my friends recommended Mallory. I am so thankful to have found such an incredibly talented hair stylist. I receive so many compliments and I have her to thank! read more

Mallory is amazing!! I like to give credit where credit is due. I found her through Yelp in desperate need of help and I do not regret contacting her. She got back to me quickly and we talked for a while regarding my options based on a picture I saw here. She texted me and advised me based on what I wanted not based on a profit. She saw me 2 days later and fixed the mess I called hair. The color is great and she was so nice and so fun to talk to. I annoyed her with my 1 million+ questions I'm sure but she was very friendly and answered each one of them without hesitation. I love my hair and will definitely be coming back to her for all of my needs. Anyone thinking about going to see her, GO!!! You will not be disappointed. read more

Mallory helped me out when I was in a huge bind. I had gotten my hair colored at a random place in Seattle and it looked terrible. Because of my work schedule followed by a trip to LA for a wedding, I had no time to get it fixed until I got to LA. I reached out to Mallory after seeing some pictures of her work on Yelp and we were pretty much instantly setting up an appointment. She was friendly and hilarious and really listened to me to make sure she was going to do exactly what I wanted. Her customer service was outstanding and I am so thankful for her help!!! I've already gotten a few compliments on my new color and it is all thanks to her. read more

I found Mallory 3 years ago via yelp and have been with her ever since! I've gone from blonde to pink with Mallory and she never disappoints. I just went to Mallory for the first time after reading the rave yelp reviews and have to say they are all right times 10! Mallory gave me an amazing blunt, long bob and i love it so much! I will definitely be sticking with her. :) Prices are very reasonable and she is truly talented!!! read more

Love love love!! Haven't done my hair in over a year and Mallory took amazing care of me. Beyond the fact that she is awesome to be around she is a hair magician. I came in with dark hair uneven ends and on top of that my hair is always tangled. But she managed to give me the perfect blonde! I love how she paid attention to the detail. The whole experience was awesome, I feel like a brand new person! Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend her to everyone. read more
